Sekiro just isnt fun

im throwin in the towel desu, designing a game that is bloodborne but you have to parry every hit is ridiculous. The only reason they get away with making this garbage is because they made the souls games, which are actually fun and challenging.

lol u bad!!!!!

Un-ironically git good

git gud scrubster

Do you have it on PS4? Mail me your copy if yes

i beat all the souls games lmao go play guitar hero

the difference is in souls and bloodborne you actually have to plan out your build and understand the leveling system. You need to plan out your build during your time and method attack in every area, if you dont youre fucked. Sekiro is just dance dance revolution

i'd enjoy it more if you didn't do such pathetic amounts of damage, fighting the ashina spears guy wasn't even remotely enjoyable because of how underpowered you are.

I hated this game at first and felt exactly the same way you did until I actually, unironically GUT GUD and let souls be souls and sekiro its own God damn thing.

WAHHHHH I SHOULDNT HAVE TO ADAPT AND RELEARN BECAUSE I ALREADY DID IT ONCE WITH DARK SOULS WAHHHHHHHHHH

sounds like you just suck at the game

I beat Bloodborne and all 3 Dark Souls games multiple times (have yet to pick up Demon's Souls). I consider myself a casual Soulsborne player, with fairly average skill.
Sekiro is hard, because the hardest thing to ACTUALLY understand is that if you're playing it "like Dark Souls but faster" you're fucking up. You need to FIGHT the enemies. Not dodge around and get in hits at certain times, a la Dark Souls. It'll click once you defeat a certain boss or miniboss (for me it was fighting that Lone swordsman fucker in the tunnel; no room to maneuver so you HAVE to stand and bang with him).
I was enjoying the game before then, but now I feel I actually understand it and I'm even more impressed with it.
Keep at it. It might be harder for people who played thousands of hours of Souls games to break their habits, but it's absolutely worth it.

All that being said, fuck the Burning Bull fight.

git gud you crying retard

This I agree with. I'm still gonna finish the game and power through it but it's kinda disheartening doing so much and realizing you barely scrapped their health while one hit of theirs does 75% of yours.

>cheese Souls with Shields, Magic and summon
>get rekt when you're actually forced to rely on reacting on what the enemy does
You have to increase your proficiency.

>Contra has more recognizable queues
>Ninja Gaiden 1-3 have more generous healthpools
>as does Castlevania
So what if you get one shot! Just adapt!

>not dodge around
You dodge around for fat alcoholic samurai. Owl (both of them) Isshin 2, Butterfly, Bull, and Demon. Every other fight is you exploiting AI to force first hit reactions and dodging the non combo'd follow up because the Ai in this game is actually really stupid.

spear guys are meant to be countered.

I don't much like the game because its quite hard to do, and the penalty for not doing it right is instant death. Thats the whole combat system summerized actually.

i legitimately cant beat the third boss because of garbage rythm shit. There is seriously no skill involved

>he runs around like a retard and dodges while the enemy posture regenerates
If you don't suck you should break their posture at like at 50% red health.

with the spears cunt if you break his posture he'll fall for a second or two then get back up, you're still doing shit damage to him though.

>no skill involved
>can’t even beat early game boss
git gud braindead shitter

No, I mostly deflect. Dodging is shit in this game and only useful for grabs. Even factoring in posture breaking it still takes a long time to get a death blow. Least that's what it feels like to me so far. I'm still only on the first two bosses (guy on horse and lady butterfly).

But it’s super gay. Like that sword guy. It’s fucking retarded that his kick instakills you when you have to slash him with a sword all day and impale him twice. You can attack all day, but you can only ever hit him with a single slash at a time because he instantly blocks afterwards. Then he gets to decide when he stops blocking and counterattacks while completely ignoring hitstun. You can’t hit him out of his gayass combos or his faggy jump kicks, so you have to play Simon Says because he also tracks you constantly and can turn around 180 degrees in midair to drop kick you if you don’t do the specific dodge the game is asking for.

Then you find out he has a deathly allergy to firecrackers and his faggot kick is inexplicably considered a thrusting attack, so you cheese him with zero difficulty and feel like a fucking chump because you were struggling so hard previously and probably gave every NPC cancer.

What the fuck is fun about this? It’s like the least enjoyable parts of Dark Souls 2. Every enemy is the blue Smelter Demon.

Use the axe. It deals a ton of posture damage.
Kill speed depends on how aggressive you play, that's why the posture meter exists.

>faggot kick is inexplicably considered a thrusting attack
What's weird about it? It's not a sweep and not a grab, and he lunges 10m forward with his kick. Looks like a thrust attack to me.

Litetally this. Treat every fight like it's some epic movie scene. It's not meant to be over in 2 seconds, it's slow and deliberate. Circle your enemy while holding up your block. He goes in for some hits and you parry, then vice versa. Eventually you'll learn most of their special moves and which way to counter them. If you have to die a few times no biggie. Run away if you have to; theres no stamina meter. Ignore the health bar most of the time; posture meter usually builds up faster. Firecrackers are OP, will stun most enemies, oil and flame vent are good for chipping away at health if you're close to a kill. Aside from resting at idols to respawn enemies and losing shit when you die the game is really nothing like soulsborne at all.

Worst comes to worst I can confirm that theres already guides to cheesing most every boss online if you absolutely cannot do it.

to me i kept thinking the game was made up of bits like the walkway on anor londo with the two archers shooting at you from either side, just feels tedious

I was starting to like the game again until Orin

The insane damage and quick jabs are exceedingly fucking cheap. The fight doesn't need either of them and it robs you of a fun fight if you aren't autistically good at parrying which is also the demand for everything else in the game.

That's the entire game in nutshell. Massively overtuned enemies that could be fun, but instead are just chores.

I'll try that, thanks. Been only using that for shield guys.
