Because the drifting is different

2D mario kart is trash

This. I can’t stay on the road during almost any turn.

I think it controls alright considering the buttons they had to work with. However, the gameplay is mind-numbingly boring, even super mario kart is better.

I don't know, but it's impressive that they managed to make it worse than the SNES game.

Imagine being so wrong

The only good thing about this game is the music
youtu.be/SwBP3M9OnIA
Also why the fuck was this song never remixes but cheese land was?

>The only good thing about this game is the music
lol no

Best MK game faggot. Literally the only MK I've ever invested myself into. God tier tracks and rewarding difficulty.

The fuck was that?

great contribution

Retard, the game had the mos tracks before Mario Kart 8 with a whooping 40 tracks.

Saying the game is bad is stupid and you know it.

>quantity > quality
Lol no even if it has the most tracks they still suck ass

this also it is absolutely a step down from super mk, since its controls are worse (not really the fault of the game, the gba has fewer buttons in a less comfortable layout)

Why is it the fourth best selling GBA game then? Can you explain that? if it's "bad", why did it sell millions?

Fucking retard

Wii > DS = 7 > 8D = DD > 64 > SNES > SC

>wii that high
explain yourself

t. Funky Kong

Dunno, but mario kart series are the worst kart games in existence.
I WANT MY 60 DOLLARS BACK, NINTENDO!

>Call of Duty is good
>Hey You Pikachu is good
>Wii Music is good
>Superman 64 is good
>Kinect Adventures is good
>Just Dance Wii is good

>if it's "bad", why did it sell millions?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 158K)

>popular = good game
Nice ad populum retard

Attached: 1550783617563.jpg (645x729, 48K)

and all of those are decent at worst.
your point, /pol/fag?

I was too busy playing the living shit out of Mario Golf Advance Tour, fuck me that game was great.

>Superman 64
>decent

Weeaboos buy anything "made in japan", and parents think mario is safe for kids to play.

Roster good feel good tracks

DS>Wii>DD>8>7>64>SC>SNES

user, stop throwing out stupid shit in an attempt to have an argument.

Mario golf and tennis rpgs made by golden sun peeps. Miss that shit

I didn't know Intelligent System made this until recently.
No wonder it has a Paper Mario reference in it.

Because you're a shitter. The drifting feels much tighter when you master it.

>Why is it the fourth best selling GBA game then?
Because it has Mario on the cover? Not even the best Mario spin-off on GBA. Tennis and Golf shit all over it.

Mario Kart wii is objectively the best one
I hated it for years. I hated how they separated manual and automatic. I hated the team battles. It just felt like such a complete let down from double dash
but after years of enduring it with my friends, well past the wii era and into the dolphin era, it finally clicked
As much as i like 8, it feels like a step back in gameplay in a way j can't quite put my finger on

This was literally the first game I ever owned

Look I beat this game as a 5 fucking year old I dont know how much time it took me but I did it,it must nit be that bad

>good feel good tracks
no and no

DS > 64
Rest are not worth playing

It's really difficult to control in the beginning, but you get used to it.
The worst thing about this game is the coin system. Being forced to collect coins is super annoying.

Mario Party Advance sold shit and that had Mario in it

mkwii is utter chaos, for better or worse. mk8 is the milquetoast approach, what sets mk8 apart though is it has the best track selection, albeit a very mixed one the amount of variety from it is unparalleled.

I agree with you, Wii is the best but only gigantic nerds will come to this realization

because it's the weakest Mario Kart

I'm still amazed they managed to make it play worse than the SNES one despite both using "Mode 7"

How are people complaining about the buttons? Mario Kart needs like three to four buttons and the GBA had four.
>accelerate
>use item
>jump
>brake (optional, could just use down, or not have break)
Also SNES Mario Kart was just as slippery as SS, with the added downside of no mini turbos.

It was a launch game, and Mario Karts tend to sell on name recognition. If you're buying a Nintendo, you buy the Nintendo staples for that system (the Mario, the Mario Kart, the Zelda, etc.).

because the button layout of the gba makes it feel like shit

>this song

Attached: 1459589821555.gif (268x382, 427K)

>the buttons
controls
for example, karate champ on nes only needed a few buttons but played like shit

Because you've gotten used to playing a much better game

>came out when everyone had a ds
Gee I wonder why it failed

>Why is it the fourth best selling GBA game then?
Mario. You going to tell me NES Classics Series: Super Mario Bros. is better than Wario Land 4 and Superstar Saga just because it sold more?

Maybe it was because I was 10, but I fucking loved Hey You Pikachu.

youtube.com/watch?v=eBuw82PQWGA
I feel like MK8 really butchered the song.

>released 2005
>DS came out a year earlier
2005 was a pretty shit year for the GBA. Look it up.

Reminder that Nintendo can't remake ANY of the Special Cup tracks except for Bowser Castle 4 because of their ballbusting difficulty. Imagine the salt and tears that Lakeside Park or Boo Lake would bring.

roster doesn't mean shit when virtually every single person online is FUNKY KONG FLAME RUNNER

Broken Pier is the only challenging track.

>Boo Lake

You mean Broken Pier. And yes, this track would cause a lot of salt.

>most of my experience playing MK:SC was on a GB Player
>SMK was one of my favorite MKs and still is
>SC is pretty much SMK on steroids
>gets insane amounts of hate anyway

They could just make the track obnoxiously large and wide like they did with all the other SMK/SC tracks.

>came out the same year as the gba
>Is the first Mario kart on a handheld so fans will buy it
>has Mario on the cover so parents that don’t know anything about gaming would buy it for their 3 year old.

Mario Kart didn't have good steering until DS.

>with the added downside of no mini turbos
they're there, if you drift and recover correctly. there's no visual indication, but your kart definitely gets a speed boost and a increase in handling for a couple seconds.

>Mario Kart didn't have good steering until DS.
>he says in regard to the most boring to control Mario kart there is
Yeah man I love clunky as shit turning with absolutely no momentum.

Wii's item distribution is roughly 3 times as aggressive. In some races you might see up to 5 blue shells, it's just that brutal. It also helps that it was the first console Mario Kart with online. Although the cloud was fucking stupid.

>Yeah man I love clunky as shit turning with absolutely no momentum.
you have very low self esteem for you microcock.

I remember playing this in church

> Talking shit about SMB of all games
Are you that stupid? It sold much because it was SMB for a new generation

Because you didn't grow up with Super Mario Kart, and as a consequence aren't used to how it controls.

he's underage, like most faggots who post here these days. Hence all the tier lists putting Super in dead fucking last

You going to tell me NES Classics Series: Super Mario Bros. is better than Wario Land 4 and Superstar Saga just because it sold more?

Earth to retard, it's Super Mario Bros, one of the best selling games of all time, why are you surprised that it sold more than those two games? Those games wouldn't even exist without SMB.

Answer his question, yes or no?

It's considered the worst MK for a reason

I understand putting SC in last, but not SNES

It depends on how you see it, those two games he listed provide more content compared to SMB, but SMB is a beloved game because of it's simplicity, you can walk, run jump and have a fire flower power up. That's all you need in such a fun, innovative and simple games for it's time.

Those other games are good too, but they are much more different and can't really be compared to a platformer like SMB. Not saying they are bad or anything. But if you look at it in the grand scheme of things, it's easier to see why SMB is the one with the most praise while Wario Land is dead.

TLDR: all of them are equally good games, no one is better than the one.

Its fine, it had a ton of tracks and served its job as a final hurrah to mode 7 Mario Kart. An argument could be made that its one if the weaker links but still a fine job. Mode 7 is just different from most b.c. Mario Karts and its understandable if you dont like it.

Cause the GBA sucks donkey dick.

Yes or no?
