The Alliance exists solely to be the unwavering lawful good element for the setting. Every leader of the Alliance acts the same, has the same goals, responds to questionable anything in the exact same way. Same goes for the races. Even Dark Irons, a race that stood out for being fucking terrible and amoral back in vanilla, now act like standard dwarves whenever you see one. It's really fucking boring, especially when the Alliance is delegated to clean-up duty for the Horde's ideological squabbles (and thus always seems to "win" in the end.)

Golden also seems more interested in writing stronk womyn stereotypes and having Anduin call her self-insert "auntie" than fixing this disparity. It's not like it's a difficult fix either. Even vanilla had stuff like the faggotry with human nobles that led to the creation of the Defias Brotherhood, which wasn't a purely good-and-bad conflict. What about recruiting Yrel and her outer space Holy Light al Qaeda so there's an actual aggressive, less-than-tolerant element in the Alliance? Or the Scarlet Autists? Or the broken draenei?

The only people I can imagine only playing Alliance are the same people that feel the need for every game to have a means of self-inserting in way of "I don't want to be given the option to play a whole bunch of other cool races, I just want to and only want to only ever play as a human." Alliance have never and will never be interesting. The only interesting Alliance character to exist is Arthas, but not only was he not apart of the Alliance we now know, he's also undoubtedly going to be rewritten by Golden to just be an evil dude.

From what I understand of paladins in the WoW lore, they differentiate from "Warrior Priests" by essentially being chosen champions of their gods
they are "literally" imbued with power from the light, which is why the ashbringer existed and Paladins were the mary sue class for the Alliance

Priests on the other hand pray for divine intervention, and the Light answers this, It is for this reason undead can stand to be priests but not paladins
It is also for this reason Priests can commune with old gods and become shadow priests
But to be honest this shit has gone 100% off the rails, its more about homogenizing the race/classes so there is some sameness in the factions with the most minute amount of flavour from racials but thats it
