The worst is 3, followed by BB. These games are not supposed to be about mindlessly mashing R1 and dodging with no regard to anything. BB gets a pass at least if you consider it it's own separate spinoff game, but DS3 has no fucking excuse.

Dark Souls 3 felt a lot like I was playing a bit of a crap expansion pack where things were "improved" and changed but I didn't give a shit. I felt like I had played areas before but not like I was revisiting something I loved.

The only Souls games I've played is Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2, and Demon's Souls is definitely way better. Dark Souls 2 feels way too padded and weird in it design. Demon's Souls is just so much more.

DeS was unirinically the best because it didn’t have a huge autistic fanbase like DaS which is mostly just shitposters

It's the DMC1 of the Souls series (if we don't count Kings Field or Shadow Tower Abyss) it's dated against its latter releases as far as engine and depth but it does a lot of unique things, has a baller premise and solid atmosphere that only Borne manages to surpass it. You can't call it the worst though because the gameplay at its minimum is still solid and weighted against the competitors of its time it was fucking amazing, DS2 - 3 in contrast had all the resources in the world and a structure to work on so we'd chew at their flaws more.

For the most part you treat Demons as what it is, a separate series. It was fairly unapologetic, it designed most of its bosses as a puzzle than a skill check, and everything had a certain weight to its design and pace. If someone is coming in post Dark Souls I wouldn't say they'd have to play it, but that time period when Demons was the only game of the series out, there was no Youtubers and pro guides milking out the game to death, pvp and co op was chaotic and people were leaving bloodstains out the ass of them jumping into pits looking for loot were some of the best times and best era of the community it'll ever be again.

Demon's is my favorite
