The closest I ever came to this was a boss in Darksiders 2. There was a bug that drastically sped up his reactions and attack speeds the higher your resolution was set.
Had to turn down the resolution for the fight. Game looked like shit but ran a lot smoother.

Hey, it’s okay man. Practice. Get good. Eventually you will destroy the game on Hard. It’s always a good idea to do a run on “easy” to get a feel for the game if you find it particularly hard. I did it with Mother Russia Bleeds, and I love that game now.
