RX 580, cheap as fuck and performance increased by like 20% with a driver update a while back

1060. Only poor contrarian neckbeards will tell you to get an inferior product with driver updates that literally bottleneck your performance.

Forget about 1060 3gb. Otherwise just get whatever is cheaper. 580 is slightly more powerful and should do better in the long run, but 1060 is less power hungry.

Also, consider 1660ti.

between the 2, rx 580 easily, but you should try and get a 1660 for around the same price, 1660ti or rtx for a bit more, or even wait for the next amd gpus

find out what your favourite devs use when optimizing their games, and go with that

Actually GPUs are completely unaffected by windows fuckery. There are no obstacles to use them on W7 at all. At least between 580 and 1060, not sure about rtx series.

Rx 580 8GB but be careful to not buy one used for crypto mining.

I have a 580 with an r5 2600. It's pretty good. I can play everything at 1080p 60fps ultra settings.

In quite a few places you can still get RX 580 with promo codes for DMC5 and RE2. However, it's better to get 590 since you'll get The Division 2 on top of that, which you can sell to more than make up the price difference between 580 and 590.

The 1070 really is the best mid range card right now, I have a 1070 ti and even I can play some games in 4k by lowering the settings a bit, it's just great.

true for RTX 20 series as well? I know you have to do some fuckery to use newer intel processors with win7 as well. Fucking MS and their shit OS.

if you absolutely must have a GPU now buy a 1060 6GB as cheap as you can. otherwise wait another year for prices to normalize further. the manufacturers seem to be hoping for another bitcoin bubble despite the hype being over for over a year now and stocks being filled again. can't blame them, I'd love to get free money thrown at me as well. but literally no GPU is worth buying right now and it's not going to be fixed until at least summer when the new AMDs hit.
