I have some information to share. Don’t believe me. I don’t care. Whatever.
A Mario maker direct will be announced on April 14th, and air on April 16th. It will last about 30-35 minutes.
It will open on a surprise announcement of the Mario Bros. Two (or USA) style. Since The mechanics are so different then the other major 2D Mario games, it will serve as its own complete theme/game mode thing. (Not like 3D world, which is mostly convertible between styles.)
Speaking of 3D world, there is a five minute section in the beginning showing off new stuff in the theme. It also shows off a new(ish) power up for that theme being the Tanooki Suit.
Next it shows off the game search bars which have been refined so you can search for level ID, Name, Difficulty, or many other things (like tags). The aesthetic remains the same generally, purple and yellow.
Soon after that comes the shop. The hub for getting new things. Here you can get new items, blocks, enemies, and basically anything else. To buy these things, you need coins which you get from completing levels. You get more the harder the level. For example, if you like the Hammer Bros, you would buy it, and then have access to the hammer bro only. The fire bro variation or the big one (no idea what it’s called) are bought separately thought they are still a subspecies of the hammer bro. Coins are very easy to get, so it shouldn’t be super tedious.
Next we cut to a (surprise) announcement that the acorn suit will also be in the game as a variation of the propeller suit to free up space. This will also be the case with the cat suit and Tanooki. There will also be a few more secrets that will excite you, but what’s the fun in leaking everything?
You can make world maps and you can make your own “campaign mode” that other people can play.
Remember those pixel outfits for the original Mario bros theme? Those are back too with three ways to get them. Levels, the shop, or amibo.
They then continue to show off some new theme features like the night mode for every theme (night mode in the winter theme looks amazing) They also review some old ones. They also display vertical levels.
It will have its own “miiverse” like Splatoon 2’s. This time you don’t have to post it to twitter of Facebook for it to work, though. You can easily comment on levels as long as your thirteen or older.
They show of new enemies/variations of enemies and a replay mode. They also show off signs, being either text or a arrow (with a filter).
The 100 Mario challenge returns as well as the 10 life variation. They show off some other modes that I’m not going to spoil.
They show off new sound effects and music options for each theme.
Let’s you build co-op with friends online. Advertising NSO.
You can recover some of you levels from MM1 as long as you have the same Nintendo account.
They end off with a co-op mode. Some levels can be exclusive to co-op whereas others could be exclusive to single payer or both. One could also make only chosen characters playable on their course. You can play as Mario, Luigi, The toads, Toadette, peach, Nabbit, each with their special abilities.
As stated before, there are more secrets to be unveiled!

You're either incredibly autistic or this is true, but unless I'm misremembering, Ninty really doesn't do Sunday directs. I guess Maker is certainly popular enough that I can see it getting its own direct. It's the most popular Wii U game, rivaling Smash 4, and will certainly be a system seller for some people.
