I don't really mind the amount of swearing they have in DMC5, but what are you talking about? Past DMC games barely had any swear words. I haven't played them in a while but I'm pretty sure in DMC1 and 2 there was basically no swearing at all. The only one I can remember is saying "Hell" but it was more used to refer to the actual location of Hell. Like in DMC2 when Dante said " Yeah, let's go all the way to Hell" or something. DMC3 had a very minimal amount of swearing, and when they did it wasn't that strong. Usually words like "damn" or "hell" a few times. And I think Dante says "piss" once. DMC4 had the most but even it was minimal compared to DmC. I think Dante says "ass" like once. Nero I think says "bullshit" and gives Dante the finger, and he might say other minor things like "damn it". Kamiya's philosophy when creating Dante was to create a hero who didn't smoke or swear excessively and still be cool. Of course Kamiya is not involved with DMC anymore, but I think Itsuno still tried to respect his vision. Even DMC5 doesn't have as much swearing as DmC.

Repeated attacks/techniques have a massive reduction applied to them for style purposes, the only way to make those moves give decent style again is to wait for a certain period of time or use other moves to refresh the ones that had been used. The style ranking also degrades faster the higher it is, and taunting has a very long cooldown on affecting the style ranking

For Dante varying up your moveset is pretty easy given how many fucking moves the maniac has. For V it's literally just being able to install DT and avoid getting hit. For Nero, though, you have to be doing a lot of Exceed moves and charge shots and sometimes break ages to maintain SSS

What attacks CAN'T be parried in this game? It seems like with good enough timing you can get nearly everything. I don't think I've ever parried the Hell Antenora' standard 3 move combo though, does anyone know anything about that?

If you want a good rule of thumb, normal non-threatening attacks can't be parried (like anything empusas or antoras do) but dangerous special attacks, like hell antorases when they're enraged or empusa queen grabs can be parried.

It's been a while since I last fought Malphas so you might be right about her hitbox extending to the jump as well as the landing. In either case though, you mentioned being on "hard" which I'm assuming you mean to be Son of Sparda so you should have devil bringer's triple jump which makes being near her pretty safe as long as you're not pushing your face against her.

Just finished completing the game for the first time that was well worth the $60 that I paid for and I'm glad that it has sold very well. Games like this is what you need to support because sadly games like Devil May Cry 5 in terms of quality and least in a combat rarely come out so you have to make sure that it's doing good sells why.

Because you dragged out the encounters in mission 11 without even realizing. I had 6200 as my highest in mission 10. If you can go minutes at SSS, then you'll get stupid amounts of style. This is really easy for Dante, since he can stall the easiest, while keeping everything alive. Nero can't, while V just seems to get tons of style regardless.

Dante's cool, but Vergil needs a little bit of touching up.
Just make the vest much darker, more crimson-like.

When he says "let's get airborne" while dt'd it sounds menacing as fuck

The bosses are easily the worst part of that and game, which yeah is kind of a big problem for a fucking action game, however hardcore mode on the DE fixes the style meter for the most part and makes a lot of the game more enjoyable, if way too easy even on "Nephilim" (hard).
Also I wouldn't say the level design is good it's just functional and I don't really think they even look that cool, I kind of think that game looks really fugly in most cases.
