So I have a Logitech G403 and the wheel is all messed up. It's especially bad when trying to scroll down because it also scrolls up at the same time. Not so much when scrolling up but it does happen sometimes. Is there a way to fix it or do I have to get a new one? I downloaded a firmware patch a long while back and that fixed it for some time

G Pro wireless is the best mouse out right now though

So I never have to take my fingers off of Shift-WASD-Space. The speed and access to the 6-to-9 front-most buttons with just my thumb are superior to having to move my WASD fingers around beyond the reach of 123QERFC.
If it's some basic game like CS, the buttons obviously wouldn't be necessary, but the majority of games nowadays (not just shit like MMOs, but most action games) have one or several dozen inputs, enough of them critical that I can't have them all clustered around the home keys.

Consider even the standard FPS nowadays with a grenade hotkey and melee button. Many games will put the grenade on the middle mouse wheel click or G, neither of which I find to be suitable. In fact, a grenade button on any keyboard key would require me to move my fingers away from movement, a severe limitation. On a basic mouse, I'd put grenades and melee on Mouse4 and Mouse5, the side buttons. That works, but nowadays games have multiple grenade types, skills and whatever else that need to go somewhere as well. No matter what, I'd either have to bind critical actions further to the right of the F key. That's not even considering games like ARMA where the entire keyboard is being used for all sorts of useful actions.

tl;dr, I want a control method where I never have to move my fingers away WASD and Mouse1. A dozen buttons on the side of the mouse is perfect for that (but they never seem to come with a good sensor).

I play on a couch with my laptop, so I prefer just being able to lay my hand down with the mouse and play without moving it.

I recently bought one of these bad boys, and everything about it is great. The only issue is that the mouse button on the far left doesn't work at all. No drivers I try seem to get it to work in games. I can bind it to my keyboard buttons, but even then most games don't acknowledge the command. I'm looking to get a new trackball at some point. I wish the made some trackballs with a ton of buttons that actually worked. Any suggestions?

I actually wish I had a modern FPS mouse in the shape of a G600 with or without the buttons, the flatter rear arch on it seems to be the most comfortable mouse I have overall, and if you take the weight out it's not even that heavy, I have a G203 as well and it works but it's really too small for my hands so my fingers sometimes get bound up and fumble buttons. I can get it comfy just holding it but put it down and it turns out the back of my hand was hanging down way below the bottom.

I'd say it's to keep cost down, but the G600 is so fucking ancient it's pretty overpriced by now.
