Nintendo are the worse with following norms.
If it's normal for consoles to pay millions to get in E3 then Nintendo will do it.
Even when trends change Nintendo feels more secure with what they have already done than what they could theoretically do.
They could have been the first one to peel away from E3 but they chose not to even while their directs get consistent coverage by streamers and youtubers.

Everybody copies each other. Like look at how Playstation All Stars which everybody laughs at as a Smash copy. However that game was released for both PS3 and Vita. Then the next Smash Bros comes out and it got both a Wii U and 3DS version. Nintendo must have thought it was a good idea so they took it. Same thing happening here, the Direct system just works and Xbox do it as well so it's about time Sony caught up.

PS Move was more accurate than the wiimote, failed because of lack of major first party games using those controls. (Option motion controls in Killzone 3 vs the default control scheme in Skyward Sword)

As it is, I went from RDR2, to Ace Combat before stopping that to play KH3. I went back to finish AC7, which I did, and have been playing Destiny 2 for a week to cleanse my palette. As it is, I still have other games I need to play, before catching up on FFXIV before the new expansion in July. I think Days Gone is the first Sony pushed "big game" that I don't have any interest in, which isn't a problem because I still have other games I haven't gotten around to play yet.

I'm not desu. I thought the first game had a good story and surprisingly decent gameplay but I just don't think TLOU2 can do any better. The ending of the first was pure kino and continuing the story and characters just feels so fucking cheap. Also Ellie is not a character I want to be playing as for the majority of the game, she worked perfectly in the first game but I don't think she has "main character" potential like Joel did.

If they can make a good and interesting story that doesn't fuck with the first game, then cool but i'm not holding my breath hoping it's good at all

First game had better story (minimal story but w/e), better levels, and more content. If it was a 1:1 remake other than the graphics, controls, and new toys to play with it would've been a really good remake but it's too different to feel like a true remake and too same to feel like a true new game. I did play the original right after playing the remake, actually. The original was better. In Ratchet 2016 there isn't a single level that you can't clear by strafing and mashing the jump button as quickly as your thumb will let you.
Try that on Umbris or Orxon and you'll get demolished. Funny, those were the levels that were cut. Or how about Gemlik Base, that was one of the more challenging combat-focused levels in the original game. Also cut. Nearly everything that actually challenged the player or had any sort of fun gimmick was cut.
There's only one level I can think of where the gameplay was actually more fun than the original, and that was Gaspar. The original was kind of a throwaway and the level design highlighted the weaknesses of a strafeless control scheme. The remake solved this bit, but then added a whole new section with a fun new gimmick to make it worth it. They should have done that with all the other planets rather than simply dumbing down what was there.

Original was top down, new RE2 is over the shoulder. That's a major change. REmake 1 was a 1:1 remake. 2 is not. 2 plays like RE4, 5, and 6 without the karate and obviously with more of a survival horror feel to emulate the original game. It's not as big of a difference as turn based to real time but it's not a 1:1 remake.

Nearly every mechanic added in Jak II and 3 is subpar. In particular, the gun controls in these games are worse than even the first Ratchet game, which routinely gets shit on for having poor aiming. The open world is inferior to having seamless expansive levels with actual secrets, too.
There are still things to enjoy in Jak II and 3 but you have to pick through a lot of trash to get to it.

I never played them on PS2, but I bought the PS3 collections of Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank and Sly on PS3. R&C is the only one that is consistently good in the three games. Jak & Daxter is pretty good but the sequels are garbage. The gunplay is absolute garbage which is inexcusable considering that all the ratchet games have good gunplay and are from the same time period. Sly 3 is still the worse game though.

It didn't. There are two naked scenes in the game. One for Lady and other for Trish. Trish is supposed to be uncensored and we saw her ass even back in the leaked demo. Lady's ass is censored on all versions because it was deliberate from the devs. A source of a lens flare is resting on a table next to her in that scene and is comically obscuring her ass crack. On the PC version there's a mod that removes those lens flares but that's besides the point.

I'll start by saying I don't give a shit about western games so I couldn't care less for 90% of Sony 1st parties, but (to the general public) releasing 2 high quality games per year is actually very good.

MS hasn't done so this entire generation.

Nintendo is mostly releasing mediocre trash if we exclusde the WiiU ports. Stuff like the new Mario Party or Tennis or Kirby, all of which are extremely underwhelming compared to previous entries. Switch pretty much had an excellent launch year (thanks to Nintendo ignoring WiiU for nearly the last 2 years of its life so that they could release the good games at once on Switch's first year). Then a giant drought to Smash and that's that.

Sony's problem is that they announced stuff way too in advance, not that they lack a good quantity-to-quality ratio with their releases.

Why did they never release the original on the PlayStation Store? I played most of the PS1 JRPGs like the Final Fantasy's, Suikoden's, Vagrant Story etc by downloading them onto my PS3 or PSP. Never got round to Legend of Dragoon because they never rereleased it though. I guess I'll just have to emulate it but I would have preferred to support an official release if the game is as good as everybody says.
