The cheap Switch will probably be $200 or slightly lower, like $170 at the absolute minimum

The OG Switch will probably be $250 or close to $200, but it will never be cheaper than the cheapo Switch

I don't see the super Pro Switch costing above $400, since Nintendo wants the Switch to be cheaper than the new PS and Xbox and its hardware improvements will only be marginal at best as seen with the jump from Wii -> WiiU and the O3DS -> N3DS

Really all I want from a new version of the switch is one that's not designed for tinybaby Asian hands. I can use my N64 and Gamecube controllers from childhood no problems today, so there should definitely not be so much of an issue with the Switch.

Obviously 'Shitty' switch audience would be like 80% kids and 20% adults who wont or cant afford a Switch
while the 'Pro' would atract more the PC crowd which would willingly waste a couple hundred dollars more for a way better Switch no problem

I hope they pick up with Mario Maker and AC coming out soon, and add some reasonable functionality to their console. It's so empty outside of the games. I bought it after owning a wii for years and was surprised how shallow it felt in regard to features

Odyssey is running pretty well now. Here's hoping they'll switch their attention to Smash soon and that'll be playable within the year.

Not the mentality you should have when you're trying to keep people on your console for longer amounts of time. But regardless if you're going to strip everything away, like the interactive Mii channels, why not replace it with some basic functionality, like messaging your friends? Friends are such a useless feature on the Switch outside of seeing what games they are currently playing. This console is so new I'd rather them focus on improving these core aspects rather than shitting out another $400 console

The Switch is a handheld that you can plug into your TV. The gameboy sold like hotcakes, the DS sold like hotcakes, the 3DS sold like hotcakes, and yet the games for those had to be designed around the system. The Switch is the first handheld of Nintendo's that runs console games without substantial compromise or tweaking. Nobody cares that, say, Hollow Knight was on PC and PS4 for a year before it came to Switch. It still sold a quarter million copies within two weeks of being on the system because people have and always will want to play games portably.

I'm already inclined to go with whatever ever option puts the least amount of money into Nintendo's bank account. I am still pissed with the degree to which I got fleeced with the free Wii U I won. There is a part of me that is still reticent to get a Switch of my own, instead of just asking one of my friends if I can borrow theirs. Unless there is a convincing reason to go for the premium version, I'll either go for the less costly of the new two, unless the 1.0 model is discounted beneath it.

Honestly the OG switches are the best investment, just think about it.

The cheaper one is probably trash, the powerful one isn't going to be that much stronger.
The middle switch is the best inbetween because if they made graphically demanding games for the switch it would make the new cheaper one and the OG useless (which would splinter their userbase)

Getting the OG switch and a gaming PC is still the best investment for you as a gamer.
