Games had way better gunplay and aesthetics than Resistance. Resistance is also dead while Killzone at least might still be alive. KZ wins where it matters most.

PS3 was littered with shooters since Sony was desperate for a flagship shooter franchise. They probably arguably got it with Uncharted and later The Last of Us but I would say those fall more in line with movie story games. Game like Resistance falls more in line with being more similar to Half-Life, COD or even Halo. Even Gears of War perhaps, games with more emphasis on shooting then trying to be a hollywood video game.
