This processor needed to be underclocked to function optimally in the switch's form factor.
We know this, you can overclock the switch to a clockspeed that's BELOW the tegra's actual stock clockspeed and the battery with bulge out.

Phones have a high core count ARM based processor and specially designed GPU that makes them fine for viewing high resolution content but shit for any complex computing.
They can do a lot for a passively cooled device but you simply can't find games with graphics as good as the Switch is capable of on android.
Even the S10 only manages 60fps in Fortnite on high settings.

It happened multiple times with the Gameboy, GBA, DS and 3DS. Nintendo are just doing what they've always done with portable consoles, but if this leads to a dedicated and more powerful TV based unit I'll be perfectly happy.

It would be 12nm or 7nm chips, so even if they are based on pascal/X2, they’re going to be much faster than the 16nm X2 that came out 2 years ago. I would guess base xbox/ps4 performance at the very least.
