But dark souls didn't had anything of it, especially compared to des and das2

>fun pvp
>backstabs: the game

fuck you
I hate souls and that retarded fanbase
I'm glad it's over

Millions of people play shooters
Wouldn't those just be headshots that game?

Good riddance, I'm glad Miyazaki learned how to actually tell a story and dropped the shitty RPG mechanics to flesh out combat.
Plus, nobody liked the garbage netcode pvp and invasions anyway.

No?

would puzzle games just be solve puzzles the game?

Would fighting games just be fight the game?

First game will always be the best one. They could have put some serious effort into fixing things for the remaster but absolutely blew it.

You suck dick every night.
So I'm just gonna call you faggot.

>I miss the magic
>I miss the depth
>I miss the soul
aka it was my first Souls game so I have irrational feelings for it rather than seeing it as a mostly mediocre mess it actually is

sometimes a mess is good
sometimes a mess is bad

do people still play remasted pvp?

>dark souls didn't had anything of it
of what?

Dark souls is trash. Like you.

>he couldn't beat dark souls
>still shits on it 9 years later

>nobody
why make blatantly false claims, user?

>First game will always be the best one
How so? FROM really half assed first das and didn't put any soul into it
>NPC are just ripoff from des but not as interesting
>shitty network
>No fun builds or spells or items, especially when previous game hat it all
>Poorly designed locations, city doesn't even felt like city
>No soul was put into boss designs, every boss felt the same
>No punishment for death
>No punishment for losing invasion

why are you pretending to be fucking stupid?

A literal 3 year old with downs syndrome can beat dark souls. For example, you.

but you couldnt?
ouch

>He actually plays fromsoft garbage

the first half had soul but then they half assed the second half. It's a shame because the first half is 10/10 but then right after you step into anal rodeo the game becomes 5/10

OP is a faggot

>the first half had soul
Not really, first half was just the part where they most blatantly copypasted des worlds

t. sour des baby

Are you acting like Sekiro "got rid" of these mechanics? Because it's not a souls game.
If you miss all that shit, go play Dark Souls.

yeah but atleast it was good. I really find it baffling that they kept fucking doing it though, did we really need a swamp level four games in a row? I actually thought valley of defilement and blighttown was good but the gutter and farron keep were awful

Demons Souls was better.
so was Bloodborne.
And now Sekiro too.

Not really, pc kid
There nothing good about blighttown, no sense of danger, can skip most of it, can run in poison water without slowing down with ring
At least they tried something new with gutter, blighttown felt like 5-1+5-2 ripoff but without any soul

I didn't even realize PVP was missing.
Guess I don't miss it at all

Contrarianism is a cancer on this board
Dark Souls is great game

>Seriously defending The Gutter

The best part about dark souls was the world though. The gameplay isn't anything to write home about, pvp was always full of nonsense garbage although fun, builds really just amounted to a handful of weapons that were the best.. Souls cucks annoy me at how much they fellate these games.

Gutter doesn't need defending. It's fucking awesome.

>if you shit on the game, you're shitting on the difficulty and not the quality of the game
I've beat all of the games without summons

Why so people say that like its impressive? The souls games arent hard.

>I miss the RPG mechanics
They were never that deep. You do just fine by upgrading your basic starter weapons and mashing attack and then blocking/spamming i-frame rolls.
>I miss the fun builds
Most would only shine in PvP, for shitty meme-filled PvP videos on youtube. There was little reason to do "builds" to begin with. Perfect example of the illusion of choice. You end up being a shitter that can infinitely level.
>I miss the fun PvP
No. Even people that enjoy PvP can admit it's a fucking mess, often more troublesome than fun. Again, it only got big because of youtube meme videos.
>I miss the magic
Useless in every game unless you run very specific setups. Pointless.
>I miss invasions
Same thing I said for pvp. Meme videos.
>I miss convenants
They were never implemented completely or at all. Bloodborne is the worst one of all. They just flat out didn't do them as they wanted.
>I miss the convoluted story
There is no reason to take pride in presenting Dark Souls story after the first game. Dark Souls 2 and 3 were contractual obligations for From and Miyazaki. They probably ran with the vague bullshit just to work less on the games.
>I miss the asshole NPCs
I'll give you that one.
>I miss the music
Subjective.
>I miss the depth
No such thing.
>I miss the soul
Haha you said the meme thing.

Here's your (you), have fun jacking it.

It genuinely baffles me how someone can hold this opinion

>convulted story
Back to Vaati comments you absolute retard.

Its unironically the worst part of the entirety of Soulsborne. Sekiro presents the story in a much better way and the characters actually feel like characters.

>I miss the music
This

youtube.com/watch?v=yx1-k1A6zuc
Can't wait for das2 remake for switch

The way Souls presents its story and lore is actually really cool and groundbreaking for the medium. Not OP but the concept of telling a story through the game like that is definitely great. Would not mind seeing more games try it in the future, that's actually an example of games being art.

>I miss the fun PvP
>No. Even people that find the PvP to be fun...
retard

I had a dream last night that I made a poison build and was just shooting everyone with poison arrows and watching them slowly die from afar or poking them with a poison rapier when they got close
I also put all my points into resistance
Is this viable? does ds1 even have poison arrows?
it's ages since I played and now I just want to go poison everyone

Only thing I miss is playing as cute fat girl and playing dress up. :'(

>groundbreaking
Children that never played Myst need to fuck off

>I miss the RPG mechanics
They were very basic
>I miss the fun builds
Making themed builds was fun, I admit, however
>I miss the fun PvP
>I miss the magic
>I miss invasions
>I miss convenants
These are dogshit
>I miss the convoluted story
There's hardly a story in souls games
>I miss the asshole NPCs
NPCs are dreadful at worst and ok at best
>I miss the music
Now this I can agree with
>I miss the depth
Babby's first action game, it's as shallow as it gets
>I miss the soul
Is this an unironic shitpost, it's not funny either way.

Look, I played souls games a LOT and while Sekiro wasn't as good as I'd hoped since it still shows many flaws from souls games, I'm glad Fromsoft is moving on.

>first half is the games true soul
>second half represents the terrible side of the industry (deadlines, money, publishers, etc)
>the second half can be interpreted as the games "dark soul" hence the name "dark souls"

Unironically agree.

Soulsborne games were such masterpieces with an on point atmosphere and audiovisual experience. Sekiro doesn't have that.

i miss difficult strength type enemies, Yea Forums
youtu.be/Tsjd3h2Wkfg

why do people keep writing blog post on here?

Lmao how is Demon Souls better?

>No u: the post

Ever heard of Metroid Prime?

Really?
>Proper moveset on weapons, instead of clunky das shit
>Pairing system actually made sense
>Game felt finished, while das just poorly ripped of half of des levels
>Just compare 5-2 to second part of blighttown or 5-1 to first
>Far better npc with actually interesting motives
>Actually fun builds available, no generic das shit where everything is same
>All bosses felt special and unique while das went with quantity over quality
Just from the top of my head

The almost silent interconnected world you slowly opened up was really a highlight. It's a pity they abandoned the concept for bonfire warping and linearity with a couple branching paths.

It makes the narrative and difficulty much easier as people always know where to go unlike DS1 where you were left alone in a hostile place that was mostly open. To add to this the only clue you have is the Crestfallen Warrior spouting nonsense about two bells.

Without internet guides you will probably miss like half the game unless you replay it a few times. In my case I went blind for the first time and had no clue why people complained about Blighttown and some "Capra Demon" because I entered from the Valley of Drakes and just killed Quelag going through the swamp.

But das was the most linear game in the series if you didn't used master key, and master key utterly broke game
Fucking pc kids
>It makes the narrative and difficulty much easier as people always know where to go unlike DS1 where you were left alone in a hostile place that was mostly open. To add to this the only clue you have is the Crestfallen Warrior spouting nonsense about two bells.
Holy shit
>Get raped by skeletons
>get raped by ghosts
>wow, where can I go, wow

no

>missing a worse demon's souls

Dark Souls was never good. These games were depressing as hell even. So dark, so generic. Very mediocre games. The first game has to be the most saddest game I have ever played. It is such a product of its time. I struggled to get through it. Everything is so dark and drab. Just made me want to kill myself. I've never played any other games that put me in such a low mood like Dark Souls games did.

The best parts of Soulsborne have always been the level design, world, atmosphere, and memorable boss fights. The RPG and PvP mechanics were half-baked. Sekiro trimmed the fat and focused on what Fromsoft is best at.

>But das was the most linear game in the series
u fookin wot? Have you even played BB or DaS3? Those are way more linear than DaS even in a "normal" playthrough. DaS2 may have one or two more routes at the start but most of them lead to dead ends.

>RPG mechanics/fun builds/magic
The benefits of all these things are the choice they give you. Even if you can do just fine with basic gear and roll i-frames, there is plenty of entertainment to be had in devising specific ways of playing the game that are not only viable, but sometimes even more powerful than playing normally (e.g. pyromancy only PVE in DaS). Even outside of 'specific setups' I got a lot of use out of utility magic in DS3 in particular, but even in DaS invisibility was useful for an easier time running past things I didn't want to deal with.
>PVP/invasions
Imagine hating memes this much. The PVP was interesting in concept, but I agree that it was a mess and generally not fun. It definitely had its moments though. I think the games would have been worse without it.
>Covenants
Yeah, these sucked. Gravelording was a cool idea but wasn't that fun in game.
>Story/NPCs
Never really enjoyed either that much personally. The way the story was conveyed was an interesting experiment, but I don't think it was actually an intriguing story outside of how it was told.
>Music
If being subjective is enough to discount a point, you could have just said so from the start. Objectively, the music is technically competent.
>Depth
'No such thing' seems to imply that you don't agree with the concept of depth. Otherwise, this point is objectively wrong. There is plenty of depth to be found in the souls games, but you can beat them with just the fundamentals most of the time, so not everyone engages with it.

Not OP by the way

Sekiro is not Dark Souls, it's not a souls

I'm the Trash Man.

Don't feed the troll, you fucking idiot.

>gutter
>swamp level
?

Of course I did
Das was the most linear
>Troll
Stay mad, pc kid
Das babies are retarded, nothing new

I agree 100% although I completed all of them anyway. the depressing shit made me delay completing bloodborne and dark souls 3.

The only thing I miss in Sekiro are different clothes, I don't care about stats but some visual variety would be nice. Everything else from Souls can fuck off though.

There's poison arrows but no, Resistance will never be a good stat.

That's the good part.
>tfw you've assembled your merry gang and finally made it out of FUCKING BLIGHTTOWN
>get to the city of the Gods
>feels good man
>it's fake
>your entire posse goes nuts and kills themselves with your help
>martyr yourself or rule the ashes
fucking fantastic

I fucking lvoe seeing soulsbabs seething.

well just play any of the 5 soulsborne games or any of it's many clones you dumbfuck you don't have to buy or play sekiro at all

>I miss being able to cheese
git
fucking
gud

you wanted souls 6 and I can understand this, but it s important for a studio to breath. Sekiro is a great action game not made for everyone that let them try a more vertical approach.

from is known for milking series, so don t worry, souls will come back either through BB 2 or dark souls 4.I expect them to tease something this E3 or next year and release it in 2021

DeS did all of those better.

WAAAAAH
MAKE DARK SOULS
I WANT DARK SOULS
I DON'T LIKE DIFFERENT THING
DARK SOULS
GAME IS DISAPPOINTING CUZ IS NOT DARK SOULS
PRAISE SUN
LEGEND NEVER DIES
SIPPY
DARK SOULS
DARK SOULS DARK SOULS DARK SOULS DARK SOULS

Attached: mask.jpg (340x270, 27K)

stop it with the googoo gagas, get some self-respect

>DeS

I hate this meme. I fucking hate it. Replay that fucking game and remove your nostalgia tinted glasses. DeS has only Boletaria and Latria going for it, the rest is mostly a mess, the epytom of gimmick bosses, and absolutely terrible level design.

>Stonefang tunnels are terribly generic and feel like they come from a generic D&D setting, made me think of baldur's gate Dark alliance
>The grass system was absolutely retarded. I beat the flamelurker first try or so because munching grasses and bad level design for the area are a real thing
>Dragon God is literally Bed of Chaos 1.0, it's the same blueball shit with a cool design wasted on a terrible fight.
>Shrine of storms is a glorified corridor from start to finish, and when I mean corridor, it's literally a corridor between the thin path on the cliff to the thin path in the catacombs.
>Bid daddy manta is a retarded gimmick boss which looks cool but is a hell of a letdown
>Valley of defilement is insanely inferior to Blighttown no matter how you take it. It's the original ">swamp area" of the series and it's a mess, the first part is boring, the second part is a vast shitty place
>muh lady astrea bullshit even though it's a DaS 2 boss fight.

You fucks need to open your eyes for once and realize how badly it aged. Boletaria and Latria are masterpieces, but they represent 2/5 of a game that has underwhelming if not bad 3/5.
You're the same people shitting on Tomb of the Giants even though Shrine of storm has a worse design. The only really bad place in DaS is Ysalith, absolutely no contest, and that argument became "dark souls second half is the worst thing ever made" even though New Londo despite its rushed state was still fine, while duke's archive is great in its own right.

That's some nostalgia bullshit because a few gimmicks caught you off guard.
>wow you can be the boss for someone else
