I don't think they wanted to risk a proper home console, so they made this hybrid. The pro model might be, but then it's probably not going to be called a switch anymore.

It would be brilliant of them if they just made "upgrade docks" for the current playerbase. But I don't think that's possible.

The hybrid concept itself was very risky, but it paid off. No reason to go back to pure consoles or pure handhelds when they created their own exclusive market with this move.

That was about PC CPUs, not Switch. I haven't bought a Switch because there aren't enough games I'm interested in on it, plus I feel like I'm overpaying for the screen and battery when I know I will never need them.

It is outputting those resolutions, but plenty of games use dynamic scaling for internal rendering resolution (not actual output) and can drop well below 720p, especially when running handheld instead of docked.

That 3ds port thing is the only thing on that list that would make me buy up. I'd also consider significantly better battery and pro exclusive games

I really like the idea of the switch but as someone who owned a wii u, there is pretty much no incentive to get one. The mario kart, zelda, and smash games are the same on wii u with minor updates here and there. Ive played mario odyssey and it feels like 3d world but with open levels and it just seemed like a shallow banjo clone from the 3 worlds i played. Theres just nothing system selling on it really. I wish i didnt get a wii u so i could enjoy the fuck out of the switch

The dock connects to Switch via USB-C. It is not a Sata cable. It cannot be used to enhance computing power. The only way to make an enhanced dock would be to make an entirely new system that's compatible with the Switch
