Great graphics

>great graphics
>beautiful scenery
>immersive and storied setting
>90% of the quests are about going into dark caves and fighting the same three zombie enemies

>great graphics
Even in 2011, I think they looked a little aged.

because oblivion had better graphics?

Elder Scrolls are great for comfy immersion fantasy.

But the systems are not well balanced and don't work together at all. And thats why you go in with high hopes and stop playing not long after.

Hey, don't get me wrong, Skyrim's graphics are a HUUUUUGE upgrade over Oblivion's, but they still left something to be desired. I agree with you on everything else, especially the 90% of quests part.

>the only games you are allowed to compare to are games in the same series

>great graphics

You can mod them tho. That's why it doesn't really matter how dumbed down and casualized they are.

for it's time sure. and comparing them directly skyrim has greater fidelity and detail in its textures and models but stylistically speaking skyrim looks like grey dogshit compared to oblivion. the animations are also just as jarring and stiff as with oblivion

>hating on dungeon crawlers
>dungeons have draugrs, skeletons, spiders, ghosts, dragon priests, falmers, bears, wolves, bandits, etc etc

Even with mods the flaws are too great. Poor UI functionality, pausing for consumables, poor tactical combat, etc.

Its a great base for modding but they can only do so much.

t. 20 mod pro
Everything that you mentioned can be fixed with mods.

that looks like ass user

>quest 1
>tutorial! go to that dungeon and kill draugrs, skeletons, spiders, ghosts, dragon priests, falmers, bears, wolves, bandits, etc etc

>quest 2
>I lost my key! It's on that cavern, please recover it for me! But watch out, there are some draugrs, skeletons, spiders, ghosts, dragon priests, falmers, bears, wolves, bandits, etc etc there

>quest 394
>I forgot my dog on that cavern with a lot of draugrs, skeletons, spiders, ghosts, dragon priests, falmers, bears, wolves, bandits, etc etc inside. Can you get it for me please?

This. Compare Skyrim to other 2011 games, not Onlivion

Really? It looks pretty comfy to me. Do you typically go around calling stuff "ass" unprovoked?

They don't get fixed. They get some weaknesses shored up but stay heavily flawed. Especially combat. Which goes a long way to killing the games fun factor.

This. Skyrim has the same fucking shitty jump animations. Bethesda doesn't even make games, they just shit out products

i try this game every couple years, never found a mod that added any interesting dungeons or questlines, except for that time travel story.

>Even with mods the flaws are too great
Naw, you just have no idea about how to mod, or have bad taste in games.

>Poor UI functionality
Customizable UI Replacer is perfect stfu

>pausing for consumables
use hotkeys, and ineed for food

>poor tactical combat
play with requiem

>They don't get fixed
They do, you are wrong, end of story.

yes

Batman arkham city, deus ex human revolution, portal 2, crysis 2, Witcher 2. Skyrim doesn't even hold a candle to ONE of these games

last time i checked most of the essential mods hadnt been ported to the 64bit version of the game

>install 1000 mods
>The shit game still shines through with its horrible fucking quests, sound design, and level design.
>also CTD lol

Almost all of the relevant ones are ported and the rest is extremely easy to port yourself, just open them in CK and save them.

He meant to say gray graphics

Mods fix Skyrim's combat? Seriously nig?

The problem is not having to pause. Its that you can pause and heal instantly at all.

Nothing saves it from god awful combat. Low difficulty you walk through enemies and max difficulty you still walk through enemies but you have to whack them 20 more times.
>but mods can fix it!
I agree, mods enhance the stale game but if you have to mod a game to make it enjoyable it is not a good game.

Attached: 1462660121615.png (184x184, 46K)

You can fix that with mods that disallow eating during combat or make food only regen life slowly which literally any survival mod does or just or straight up disable menu pausing, why do you think such a simple thing is unmoddable? You obviously only played a painfully vanilla skyrim.

Show me your mod list queer

>Nothing saves it from god awful combat
>but mods can fix it!
>I agree
why did you argue with yourself

elder scroll 6 will be a graphical upgrade, feature near identical quests, have micro transactions, less to do, with worse stories. the scenery wont be blizzard and snow all the time at least. but the game company is trash and thinks its name is still good. it isnt and it wont be again untill 3 stellar games are released wich they wont be. so enjoy prey 2 fallout 78 with npc expansion pack , and the finally tes 6 much hyped and the final nail in the casket trust me read the reviews first before buying.

Did you have a stroke or is english not your native language?

Why is Prey always mentioned in these posts even though it isn't Bethesda that developed it?

I've never bought it. Played it once and rushed through it. It sucked. Oblivion is twice as good minus the oblivion gates

Bethesda published it, but I agree, it's really not the same thing.

You forgot Dark Souls.

yea it does actually since its unironically better then all of those you listed

Who were you responding to

I found the game great up until moving on from Riverwood, after that it failed to keep up the illusion

Whiterun was really bad in itself, then the Companions delivered the killshot - a shit game

are you even suprised it's shit, nothing can beat fortnite.

>>great graphics
No. The graphics looked dated even by 2011 standards

>>beautiful scenery
I suppose, but I'm not interested in standing around and staring at the scenery as I woul dmuch rather have places to go and people to meet

>>immersive and storied setting
Yes, but that is a core component of most RPG

% of the quests are about going into dark caves and fighting the same three zombie enemies
Yes, and allow me to continue that for you...

>95% of caves are simply copies of other caves in different order
>caves are mostly linear and include a loopback path
>most caves result in nothing of much interest unless you put high value on iron daggers, flour, and cabbage
>gameplay teaches you through trial and error that the sneaky archer assassin is the best way to play in almost every situation and area of the game
>NPCs are as useless as can be, rarely offering any useful information
>enemy NPCs are as dumb as an enemy can be, as most of them will not even mind that you sneak right in front of their faces a mere six inches away
>"cities" of Skyrim aren't large enough to be considered hamlets as they are nothing more than just a dozen or so NPCs and a handful of uninteresting and unrewarding houses, shops, and a townhall.
