It's a fun toy, I made similar games in my intro to game design electives in college. Do you get anything from others playing it, or just want to share?
Is my machine mining bitcoins for you now?
Landon Fisher
According to It's a bitcoin miner.
Bentley Campbell
>for free >implying that looks like something anyone would pay for Nice gamemaker tutorial shit faggot
Nathan Bailey
go away aaron
Brody Williams
Just want to share,
The source code is on my github linked on the store page here:
thanks bud, i took one ps, put some trading cards in your game op
Elijah Allen
was it at least a good first attempt?
Joseph Scott
Need to have x people own the game before I can add cards. Hence me spamming it on Yea Forums
Joshua Parker
>246MB there's no way this isn't hiding something
Joshua Moore
It's because I had to bundle the JRE with the game.
Chase Campbell
oh so that's how it works now
i suggest you go to rebbit then too
Bentley Brown
How much time did you spend on it? and how easy was it to get this on steam?
Can I get my shitty RPG maker rpg on steam this easily?
Jayden Reyes
Wow cool game OP! **Farts on it and throws it into an incinerator**
Carter Collins
About 50 hours of work. However it was my first game.
Getting it on steam was hilariously easy. Seriously.
Benjamin Anderson
May I ask how does Steam fight off shit that has bitcoin mining software, spyware, malware, ect?
Devs just don't upload shit and expect it to go through without a proper check, right?
Daniel Thomas
I have no idea what this is but now I got 2 weird games from this hellhole, the other one being Domestic Dog Simulator. thx.
Anthony Wright
If you spent that much time coding why not spend the same amount polishing it? are they supposed to be spaceships? you can probably access free art online to give them a look instead of being triangles
John Turner
Good work, user. Hey btw if you're adding trading cards can we request emotes too? This one user totally added an "Awoo" emote when I asked him and then it caused a minor shitstorm on /jp/ a while back but still.. it was pretty dope. Please add a perro caca emote, if you can. You don't have to but I'd totally buy trading cards and craft the badge to get it. I promise.
Ive gotten Jump jet rex (x2 funny enough 1 in my inventory and one directly to library with single key) Domestic Dog simulator and squirreltopia all from anons giving out their vidya they made here
Gavin Miller
Post images and I will save them for later
Julian Ward
There's actually some german guy on /int/ who makes quite a lot of games, even some for the Dreamcast. I'll try convincing him next time I find him to try getting his stuff on steam, but he's like level 10 autistic so we'll see.
Angel Martinez
Well, that'd be the image, if you'd be so kind. Thanks, user.
Anthony Hill
I'm assuming these keys are used up, got a discord (throwaway or otherwise) you could be added at for a few free keys?
It's in Java, why not have it run under Linux native?
Joseph Flores
They were for your game, dummy It's barely functional. For some reason the window constantly flickers, the controls are unresponsive, the fact that you can shoot through the projectiles means that you can just sit in place and mash spacebar. I appreciate that someone wanted to show off something they're working on, but it's barely even groundwork for an actual game. Maybe show it off once you have more to it, like challenge and smoother movement. Some sound effects would be nice too, even public domain placeholder ones.
Jace Lee
Why not just make it free to play? Why is there even an option to pay for it? It's not fair that someone might find it naturally and be interested but missed out on this thread so they have to pay for something everyone else didn't. Very poor business model.
Isaac Gray
>this game will be available in 3 weeks
Isaiah Wright
That's why it's a beta test, brainlet.
Brody Jones
There's a link to the source code on the steam page. You can pay for it only if you want to, otherwise it's free
Jackson Brown
dont make me leave a bad review for your product
Justin Bailey
So are you shilling? I saw a thread days ago lamenting Valve's shit QA practices using this game as an example. One of the first posts was a dude saying he got some keys from the dev. Now I've seen at least 2 other threads just giving out codes, implying that the dev is now posting on Yea Forums. If I remember correctly, the game was made as a homework assignment. Do you need X amount of people to play it to get a passing grade or something?
Levi Price
Wow, the barrier for entry really is that fucking low
Ethan Richardson
It's so that he can eventually earn $$$ off of adding trading cards.
Hudson Rogers
I need X players before I can add trading cards.
That's how you make the real shekels
Jordan Scott
I don't know what he is doing but the idea that a game dev is actually on Yea Forums is an exciting prospect even if it's literally the worst game ever made, I hope he becomes some big famous game dev and we get to be the guys who played this stupid little space invaders clone and are looked at as veterans
Gavin Turner
At least you're honest about it. If you are attempting to make dosh through trading cards and emotes, you'll probably want to use epick maymays. I don't care to look now, but I know people spent decent amounts of money from pot leaf and Pepe emotes awhile back.
Kayden James

Eli Smith
based
Easton Scott
post more keys
Jaxson Nelson
dark souls is too fucking easy now ds3 was a fucking cake walk
Mason Hughes
I remember a thread of someone bitching about this very same game recently.
Wyatt Wright
There are a handful of small time devs that've posted on Yea Forums a bunch. One made a dog sim game and a squirrel platformer that he gave keys on Yea Forums, and there is Cody something who has been making a Hearthstone clone for what seems like 5 years. Dunno if it's done yet, but he's had a bunch of threads.
can you request an unlimited number of keys for free or does valve charge after a certain amount?
Jaxon Nelson
user pls don't be a bitcoin miner, I'll actually buy your game when it releases.
Ian Morgan
>L7YZX-2WMLV-78FNG
thanks
Jason Garcia
They set limits, as long as you request a reasonable amount it gets instantly approved. You also have to give a reason why you're requesting keys. I can only give ~500 pre release keys before they start vetting heavily.
Mason Gomez
This is like when the polyball dev came in and posted keys for his game
Why aren't you releasing it now OP? Why wait 3 weeks?
Bentley Allen
How high is that threshold? And does Valve differentiate between given keys and purchased keys? That actually is a pretty good plan, assuming people still give a shit about trading cards. I'm pretty sure they changed it so you need to use the Steam authenticator or something to trade, so I haven't sold anything on the market in years.
Still, those guys mostly stay in /agdg/ or don't have games out, I mean sure galak zed barely counts as a game by now but it's better than nothing, the best threads on Yea Forums are game dev threads. Also they remind me that I need to work on my game.
Liam Wilson
There's a waiting period before you can release a game, it has to be in a "coming soon" state for x amount of time
Oliver Jenkins
Curious, what kind of game is it? Do you need a musician on board by any chance? I got a music job on here in a thread before but I've been finished with it for months.
Leo Barnes
I got like 3 different keys just from devs on Yea Forums what's the minimum amount of time for this
Adrian Flores
now post keys for a good game like sekiro
Matthew Mitchell
They do, a certain amount HAVE to be purchased through steam. There isn't a solid number, it's at Valves discretion
Angel Allen
Nah, I'm really early in the starting phase and haven't even got anything concrete down except for the plot and characters.
Logan Torres
1 month from buying the steam release fee and 2 weeks in "coming soon"
Camden Carter
how much is the fee? Isn't it like only 100$ or so?
Tyler White
$100 exactly
Hunter Kelly
Ah damn. Well, I hope you go far with your project user!
Xavier Bell
so you're telling me i can shit out a game for 100 bucks and then once enough people buy it (or get it for free) i can make bank on trading cards?
Luke Lopez
people have to buy it to get cards, so you can't just rely on handing out keys
Jayden Turner
Giving away keys increases puts eyes on the game though.
Cooper James
Is it multiplayer?
Joshua Rivera
thanks, hope you find a music job
Aiden Price
no
Brandon Turner
if you want a multiplayer space shmup, there was another user who gave out keys for his game called Counterattack a while back, was pretty fun, had a lot of routes
Zachary Barnes
Dropped.
Jaxson Garcia
>dropping a free game

awt wasn't really made for making games; do yourself a favor and learn libgdx. it makes everything so much easier
