I don't hate the girls at all, I hate the game. Was so excited to play it, got the collectors edition and all that jazz, but was extremely disappointed after Kamoshidas palace. Just went waaay downhill after that. Story was dull and boring, not to mention predictable as hell, final boss was a piece of piss compared to the other persona games, the ending was just fucking shit.
120 hours on one playthrough, and I don't think I'd ever play it again.
It's got some good points though, the gameplay was vastly improved over the other Persona games, and the city exploration was really cool.
Other than that, it's a solid never play again from me.

I remember all the posts about Makoto being best girl, then playing the game and scratching my head. She's basically Lisa Simpson meets Sailor Mercury. When she's not complaining about something, being a bitch or sticking her nose in other people's business, she's just the "brainy girl" devoid of personality.
Haru is rich and sweet, Futaba is funny and whether you like her or not has a personality and a purpose, and Anne is arguably the most conventionally atractive and has the bants. Makoto felt like she could be fun when you see her following joker, like awkward but in a good way. But then she was forced as the leader, taking the credit, being annoying with "no fun allowed" which broke the chemistry the original PT were starting to have . In the end I started to dislike her character a lot, but still had to use her as a party member because she was one of the best since her weakest is barely used in the game and she had a bunch of +5 and 10 for all stats
Anne on another side literally disappears after Madarame, I mean, she is "there" but feels like her character was benched hard
