I'm fine with the clear arc because it had the fucking greatest use of the power of friendship ever conceived in all of fiction, it was fucking great to see clear get his shit stomped for like 40 pages straight by an asspull withg the ultimate spell of every demon gash ever made friends with after a whole arc of doing nothing but his own asspulls

Maybe I'm just too much of a brainlet but not in my experience. It sounds good on paper and would probably work better in the format of something like a video game, but in a tabletop game, the mamodo players wouldn't really be able to do anything on their own since they are basically never allowed to learn their own abilities or decide when to use them.

Compare what either player's stat sheet would look like in comparison to a standard character in D&D for example. Nobody in Zatch Bell really uses armor, or weapons, there isn't really a need for much of a complex inventory system, and even lategame you'd have what like 10-12 spells tops? For most of the campaign the human would be working with less than 5 spells.

I mean, it's no doubt possible, but it would require a lot more effort than I'm willing to put in as a "for fun" type of experiment, considering even if I made the game I wouldn't even be able to play it with anyone anyways.

If you're willing, adapt it into a Quest format for /qst/. I'm sure a decent Gash-style combat system will do well over there.

I personally got like 65% done with a bible for a JoJo Quest before realizing I'd hate having to keep that schedule when I have college and a job already.

Obligatory reminder that if you've only seen the anime you need to read the manga because the anime was a fucking trash adaption that

There's two releases of the manga you can use: A-Destiny and NULL's. A-Destiny's only covers volume 18 onwards, and is accurate, but overly literal in it's translation, leading to awkward wording. On the plus side, the final 3 volumes are in super high resolution .For A-Destiny, I don't think there's any public place to get them otakusmash might have them albiet being compressed, but if you reach out to Kewl0210 he can provide them probably since he did them.

NULL's covers the whole run, and is more naturally worded, but has some translation issues: It occasionally mistranslates stuff or excludes information. Null is my prefered translation just because I value the less akward wording, but you should know what it mistranslates. WHen I dumped the NULL scans for the storytime, a bunch of anons pointed out issues and I collectively have the notes from that and what it got wrong here which you can consult: pastebin.com/WHbpazFg

I mean, after clear is beaten brago is the only one left and they fight yeah, but it's pretty much just an epilogue and isn't much of an actual struggle, it's only a single chapter and it's just meant to display brago's character growth
