Color and shade are separate subjects for the beginner, when you are skilled enough they naturally become one.

It's more than it simply being change, I just don't like how it looks now. It looks overly complicated just for a simple gallery of images, it being animated with everything is so unnecessary and adds nothing to it, it just makes it clunkier and slower overall since things are now pushed around and grow/zoom, also the boarders look ugly to me personally and it feels like now everything is spaced further apart or are bigger now and no other booru that's attached to this site looks or acts anything like this. I feel like if there should be improvements make it not animated anymore outside of a simple glow at most or some form of indicator you're hovering on something without moving around and make it take less space/big so there's less unused room and possibly even more images on each page. Also it's not like all bad, there are positives changes I see here like now images resize correctly like they should so they're full visible, the page navigator now is always on the page, it looking more Yea Forums/Yotsuba B-like is cute and while I don't use it the upload image button page looks like a complete upgrade. But I don't get why one would suddenly do this after it was fine for so long and without even discussing it first. Of course some discussion has happened now so it's not as bad as it was the first couple of hours it was changed but it's far from ideal and I don't get why the owner is so adamant on this new design.

Yes on both. Doing sketches for a friend for cheap, and him immediately trying to abuse that by sending me a larger sum and going "i paid for 8 sketches now" and expecting me to draw for him.
I've had a few commissions I've tried to get go bad too, artists that give me deadlines without my prompts, and then fail to meet them over and over, over the course of 3 months and onwards. Had a few of those where you can tell the artist really doesn't feel like drawing it despite having accepted your money, and they drag it on for many months. It's really annoying, though most commissions go fine.

This. Art samples serve as "request anchors" if an artist needs one so badly. Its why providing a sample is encouraged - to prove the person is an artist, and as a request anchor for that specific artist.
Why do you think the booru needed mods? Its not automatic at all - there were times when the boorus would not get updated at all. Its why the anchor exists - to help people uploading to the booru.

I'm a self taught, I quickly learned to look at my own stuff with a very critical eye, and that coupled with me aiming for a unreasonably high standards make it difficult for me to appreciate what I create. I very rarely request, but I do too, it's super nice to receive something, make you feel like what it's like to be a requester and all the excitement of seeing you did receive something. My old "Castle Crashers but swole" was rather popular, it was a very happy day for me

Krita's solid. It's got a lot of really minute helpful things that increase my workflow tenfold (M flipping canvas is a godsend for example) On the other hand its not as widely used as other art programs, so when you run into bugs it may not be super easy to find a fix if there even is one. Overall I like it. Really simple and everythings more or less easy to find.
