How important are good boss fights in a game where 99% of your time is spent doing things other than fighting bosses?

Not very, and I would argue that imbalanced boss fights or boss fights that break with the regular mechanics of the game have some of the greatest potential of ruining your experience, and that in result some games would be better off without them.

If they arent going to be good, then they shouldnt be in the game.
I finished Styx: Shards of Darkness last night and holy shit the bosses were garbage.

*ruins your stealth game*

Nothing personnel, kid.

All easily beatable with the default assault rifle.

And what stealth pacifist build is gonna drag an assault rifle around with them?

Someone who's prepared for the unexpected.

Very important, but most devs are bad and most players are faggots who don't like a challenge so we end up getting games that play exactly the same as each other.

Why can't I run away? Checkmate

fucking hell the boss fights in FC5 were pretty shit.

Jacob's and John's were alright, but Faith's and Sneed's were terrible. Really kills the god tier atmosphere

Pretty important.

If something in a game is just there, being merely passable rather than actually good, you might as well not have that something in the game at all.

New Dawn is the worst Far Cry game in the series.

It's just a bit extra FC5 with some new concepts like expeditions, which is the same game we've been playing since FC3.

The twins and etan fight were more tedious than anything. Needed to have that elite medkit regen going the entire time.

>How important are good boss fights

Very. If a game has boss fights at all, the boss fights automatically become top priority.

everything about it aside from the gameplay (excluding the dogshit crafting) is far worse than FC5

Very important, since you'll need to cram a lot of quality into that 1%.

It's exactly the same game with some new textures.

you're an idiot, the villains alone are fucking awful by comparison

>All easily beatable with the default assault rifle.
Doesn't change the fact that they're not in any way fun or engaging to fight against. The game would be better off without them.

The original Deus Ex handled this better because bosses did not lock you into an arena like some arcade game, and instead were just an extension of normal gameplay.

I cull the herd is the same caliber of villain as the twins.

>because bosses did not lock you into an arena like some arcade game
except one of them does, and even worse it's a forced defeat

how important are good orgasms during sex where 99% of your time is spent doing things other than orgasming?

idiot

if 99% of the game isn't structured around some new experience then you're playing a bad game.

Which one?

the first "boss fight" in the game

>the first "boss fight" in the game
What, the Gunther fight? That's not even a real boss fight, and secondly, you aren't locked anywhere, you can run out of the subway.
