They should have decided on either Kassandra or Alexios as the protagonist. Not both. Having a choice makes them less memorable blank slates. I'd have been fine with Kassandra being the only playable character.

The sci-fi was interesting for the first few games but the series clearly isn't planned to end, so nothing can really happen there anymore... Anyways I think Assassin's Creed is one of, if not the only big-budget game series that explores historical periods and tries to maintain some accuracy, so I think it's a bit of a misrepresentation to say it was never about the time periods

It was still better than Unity, Rogue and Syndicate.

The only time it seemed weird for Alexios to be Deimos to me was that one side mission with that kid that locked himself in a cage to prevent a prophecy. Unless Kassandra was pegging the blacksmith I just could not envision any sort of hetero sex where it would be the guy screaming to the gods.

Its the only good current gen AC game.

Unity had really good parkour and assassination missions, but shit story and main character. I would like to see advanced parkour, social stealth and open assassination missions added back and integrated with the mechanics Origins introduced. I think that would be a very good game

Every 10 minutes I have to manage my inventory or grind for XP or harvest materials or some other boring shit.

The story in Odyssey is much more boring and stretched out. At least so far, im about 3/4ths done I think.

I also am not a big fan of the superpower abilities but I don't hate them either. Just meh.

They’re damn near the same. Origins has better attention to detail (arrows in quiver, sand being affected by wind) whereas odyssey has more features overall.

Origins is a far better producion overall (actors, cinematics and the attention to the small details) but its a much smaller game in scope (90% of the map being empty desert doesnt help)

Odyssey is a non ambitious game with looter mindset. With thousand of enemy bases for you to grind and loot. But its actually more fun than Origins, which is kinda weird

Nah, except some tougher enemies you can wipe entire camps with the chain assassination skill. Its the mercs that start to swarm around you when your bounty rises and that can oneshot you who would give trouble to a pure assassin, but then again you should have let the alarm rise in the first place

If it’s rome it’s most likely gonna be miles of countryside. I just have a problem with the major cities being far too similar in odyssey. With origins you could tell what region you were in just by looking at the streets. Hopefully they were just limited by Greek architecture.

Deserts are supposed to have nothing in them. You're supposed to feel like you're going through a vast wasteland of sand.

In fact I think they made the desert areas so big with so few points of interest in them on purpose: if there was more in them, you would be spending more time there, which imo would be visually boring. Because there's only a few things, you just have to go there and then back. So you still get the feeling and scale of a massive desert without having to spend so much time in it.

There is no point in going through there in the first place. They are just empty space on one side of the map where the game takes place in the other side

It’s an effective use of negative space. It stretches from one side of the map to the other in varied degrees. More importantly it’s informed by being a desert irl, since this is a historical simulator. It’s an undeniable part of Egypt. Not to mention hallucinations.

I'm saying there's a few things in them but not too much. For 2 reasons

1: deserts are empty. There's just no other way around this

2: if there was more in them, you'd spend way more time there, which would be more boring. It's better to just visit briefly and return to the more Inhabited lands.
