Once you're halfway through HW, guides become irrelevant. Then they started doing uniform visual indicators for encounters and there's very few obtuse mechanics in casual content. I took a break at the start of SB, came back in 4.4 and just did all catch up content without looking shit up as a healer and died a total of two times.

Only way to know how to do something is to do it. If your autism is flaring up that badly, watch or read a guide. My first time in this game I tanked (and still enjoy it now) and I rarely noticed any shit people give in basic dungeons. Especially if you say its your first time, then people want to give pointers.

What they did is repurpose the full helmet and ./visor parameters into ears/snouts. So unlike Au Ra who have horns and faces linked, Viera and Hrothgar have more possible combinations, at the expense of being limited in visible headgear.

Pick whatever gender and race looks the best to you, don’t worry about community perception. As with any game, tank and healer are going to be better for you just because of fast queues, but pick whatever sounds/looks the most fun, I don’t know your taste. If you really want a rec, I recommend Arcanist if you like casters since the base class branches into two Jobs (one healer, one DPS) that share exp.

The exact kind of tank that if you are NOT spamming cure II at all times, they fucking die. Stopping to Esuna, or heal someone else, is rarely an option outside of boss encounters.

People outgear the content so it goes faster. Crystal Tower used to take 45-50 mins and bosses had extra mechanics. But now you skip it all and get it done in about 20 mins.

Dzemael Darkhold for example, you pull the whole dungeon until you get to the crystals that buff you, then nuke everything while inside the buff. Arbotetum, you pull everything and then suicide while the party reaches the boss.

There are dungeons where pulling everything will kill you, but those are dungeons where the enemies are optional and should be avoided. Such as Aurum Vale first room.
