Turn-based was fine back in the day when it was infinitely more complex and satisfying than what real-time combat could accomplish
Now it's the other way around, real-time is deep and complex and turn-based is mindless unga bunga button mashing shit

That's what makes RT infinitely better than TB.
In RT you can make it through entire games without taking a single hit if you're good enough, the excitement comes from that accomplishment of mastering the game and its systems to the point of making it your bitch like that. With turn-based, even if you play perfectly, you're never gonna make it out of any situation unscathed, damage is inevitable, it's like a fucking tax.
Turn-based is like socialism, while Real-time is like free-market capitalism. In RT, the complete shitters don't even have a chance, while the good players can excel to new heights. In TB, everyone has a fair chance of being a part or making it to a certain point, but that also means that there's no real being "good" or "bad" at it, and the good players are held back from being as good as they could be.
