retail weapons worked a little bit differently, as for melee the devs nailed PS CS and bat but other than that melee weaps worked differently.
Breaker hammer was the best against cs. Jump attack animation was a lot faster and also ignored cs guard. It was so fast that you couldn't really react with cs since heavy attack is too slow, and light ones while still being hit were not enough to kill enemy.
If the second normal twinblade normal attacks hit it caused a stun like the bat jump attack has, and also the normal attacks ignored guard. This is why I loved it so much, it caused spammers shit their pants and its why I got kicked out of many rooms.
Katana worked differently too. It had a light and a heavy attack like PS where you hold down the mouse button you did a heavy slash which ignored cs guard, also right mouse button was charged like twinblades.
Scythe heavy attacks ignored guard, also its jump attack let you to remain airbone which made Cs's beloved spam attack harder to hit, not to mention scythe right mouse let you to be airbone and do aerial combat.
Dagger was not a counter but the right mouse was a fuckton more powerful.
