some of the bosses are pretty fun on DMD (if you play as trish so the game doesn't feel like it's underwater) and enemy concepts like the goat demons who can fly and blats projectiles but are also pretty strong melee enemies with a bunch of poise are good concepts that should be in DMC5. dmc5 takes a lot of it's visual style from DMC2 as well

its a really bad game on lower difficulties but on DMD dmc2 isn't the worse action game of that era I've played. lucias campaign and the camera are pretty unforgivable though

I've only just realized on my DMD playthough that during artemis, grabbing a grim grip will transport you to her no matter where the grim grip itself is. Saves a lot of time. Also that the big colossus boss things kneecaps are actually grimp grips which take you up to his back after you turn them blue, I thought they were just weak points that make him stagger. Most of you probably knew this but if I didn't know maybe someone else didn't either, so I hope this might help someone.

The characters are just underdeveloped and there's only like 4 of them in the game. You can easily fix that by just giving them more dialogue and lines, Dante himself only has like 20 lines of dialogue max. The story is nonsensical just because there's no transitions and clearly rushed for time, you could easily fix that by expanding it in a remake. Most of the enemies are fine it's just that they're very basic, there's nothing wrong with having enemies you have to shoot down like the harpies. The tanks need to be fixed so they can do something to hit you when you're right beside them. I'll admit the chopper fight needs to be redone completely and the AI on a lot of them needs to be made more aggressive but other than that the bosses are sound conceptually.

The story has nothing to do with anything. You don't have a story where the characters have no stake in what's happening. It wouldn't be an "easy fix." You'd need a whole new story. The only thing int he original with a semblance of purpose is Lucia finding out she's some kind of weird monster created by Arius. They could keep that, but everything else would need to change. And no, the enemies are not fucking okay. It's the worst enemy lineup in the franchise by a country mile, and that's saying something with 3's shitty enemies.

I knew it would be one of the best Devil Arms the moment I heard "Super Armor". It was the gearshift mechanic and R's Redline that made it #1. The only thing I use Irregular Full Custom for is having both Cavalieres available.

Vergil fight is disappointing even on the higher difficulties.
The only challenge when fighting him is when he activates doppelganger but that can be quickly remedied with DT Stinger or just shooting him. Outside of that all of his other attacks are way too easy
