The answer is priorities.
You could get ILLUSION tier customization in games like Saints Row, GTA, Final Fantasy and whatever but it would be a waste of ressources because people will buy the game even without autism tier customization options.
Meanwhile here they NEED to make it good or otherwise nobody will buy it.
