It was released on my birthday and no one watches me stream it. Its criminally underlooked and under everyones radar. If you want people to see how amazing it is. Then you have to bring major networks/personalities playing the game and completing it. Then People will start to notice.

There were a lot of threads in the first two weeks of its release, but ultimately it's a sequel to a incredibly hard niche game. It's not surprising that it would find an even smaller audience.

It's almost as good. Yea Forums threads after the release were glorious. And you're kidding yourself if you think the first game ever gets mentioned anywhere outside more or less hardcore circles. They're niche games that are too much of a hassle for most reviewers.

It' s La-Mulana 1.5.

We wanted 2.

Based

People who want to play LM2 usually think they have to beat LM1 first, and we know how that goes.

Fuck off, I wanted 1.5 and it was great, only wish the final area wasn't rushed and that I didn't have to go through *that* trip to the valhalla gate like a million times.

The game is pretty niche and hard so it’s reasonable than whenever people do talk about it they usually mean the original.

That being said I forgot this existed myself.

They play both games, realize they've been ignoring a great series and have a lot of fun along the way? I sure hope that's exactly the way it happens and they don't get horribly stuck somewhere in Chamber of Birth trying to figure out which one of the dozen ornaments can be hit and won't kill you the moment you touch it.

This. La-Mulana 2 was everything I wanted from it and solving it together with Yea Forums was amazing fun.
Only things I'd change yeah are indeed the final area, and I'd make Ancient Chaos less obnoxious because holy shit FUCK that area after a certain point in the game.

this is the most zoomer post of all time

true enough. I've had LM2 since it's first sale and I've yet to start it.

I thought Ancient Chaos being hilariously obnoxious added to the experience, honestly. That area wouldn't be as memorable as it is otherwise, for good or bad.

>Less than half the amount of Steam reviews as its predecessor
well this one's easy to answer. the first game's lowest price was $1.50 and it's been a part of a humble bundle. the second game's lowest price has so far been $18.75 and it's not been a part of a bundle

I just realized that people were baiting just to keep a LM thread alive instead of actually thinking LM2 was bad. Whoops.

True I guess

> he wasnt on Yea Forums for the 2 weeks following the release
probably the only time i had actual fun on Yea Forums in the past 10 years, everyone struggling together through puzzle was a really enjoyable experience

>tfw couldn't figure out the map puzzle

Where's the porn

Fuck those dicks that got through Underworld blind and refused to give Yea Forums answers and kept bragging about late game. Otherwise the best time I've ever had with Yea Forums and video games in general, agreed.

>Second one is released with nary a peep
What the fuck are you smoking we had multiple threads every day for like two weeks.

>probably the only time i had actual fun on Yea Forums in the past 10 years
Fucking this, shit was amazing.

I didnt like the areas as much as 1. Why the fuck does gate of the dead exist again?

I think there are a couple of factors, first being that they didnt hype or market the release well enough, Nigoro just announced the release date like a month in advance and everyone was surprised by it
There were a lot of bugs and some translation errors in the initial release, which led to some negative reviews even though they were fixed in a couple of weeks. In addition to that, the final parts of the game felt incredibly rushed and bland so even though 90% of the game was superb, the ending left a bitter taste and made the game feel worse than it actually was

That being said, I didnt make the mistake of looking at a guide this time, made extensive notes and enjoyed the shit out of LM2, easily my goty of 2018 and well worth the wait. I just wish they will either add extra content or change the last area because it was hot garbage

>that moment when someone, after hours of everyone being stuck, first got into the Underworld and everyone lost their shit

It was odd.

The game was really, really good for the first 60-70%. I absolutely loved it

But the last areas were massive letdowns and hell and the ending were dogshit.

It really felt like DaS 1 syndrome.

Also it had far too many instakills and almost all the bosses were absolute dogshit.

I still liked the game a lot, but it had a lot of wasted potential.

>almost all the bosses were absolute dogshit
True but it also had all the casuals getting assblasted at motorbro so that redeemed it

>Also it had far too many instakills and almost all the bosses were absolute dogshit.

This also applies to the main game. I think the only thing that the first has over the second is that the final boss and area are actually great.

I wasn't there on the release threads, are you guys talking about getting to underworld or getting through the 7 gates?
Because finding the underworld surely couldn't have been hard

Both got Yea Forums stuck I think. The Cog of Time was also a problem, I think.

Man, these days if a game is good, the less people who know about it the better. The last thing I want to see is a bunch of normalfag memes about it and a TOP X THINGS YOU DIDNT KNOW ABOUT X videos plastered in my youtube feed.

You know on DMC5's release day because i watched some trailers for it I get "ENDING FINAL BOSS ETC" in my related? I knew better and finished the game beforehand but its still retarded

Anyone tried a hard mode playthrough? Is it a pain or actually an enjoyable challenge? I have the itch to replay this

Getting to the Underworld caused Yea Forums to get stuck for hours. Everyone knew we had a LOT of stuff that we needed from the Underworld, yet getting into it was hard because
-a lot of people hadn't figured out yet that you could turn the CoB
-The dude who gives you the mantra combination is silent when you first meet him and it just took a while for people to walk around everyone and try to talking to them again

Is more of the same, instead of doing something new with the franchise, that being said, I felt they also doubled down in the bullshit from the first one.

It's not hard if you've already beaten the game. I'd say it was pretty enjoyable.

>tfw we had comfy undertale demo threads years before the release and good ones at launch week too
how did it devolve so quickly, i don't understand
i did hard mode and no sub weapons on guardians run, most trouble i had was probably the giant bull boss that gives you the pillar, as well as echidna

best track in the game desu

Its because it was a good as fuck game. It was short and many people were able to sink the time to complete it. Like portal in its hayday normies could finish it and get in on the experience. So what happened? They spammed it until you didnt want to hear 'still alive' or any of the quotes anymore even though it was all legitimately good. Its like if you love a new song you discovered, and you want to just listen to it for 3 straight days, but you hold off a bit because you dont wear it out. That happened to me with devil trigger and crimson cloud, and is now happening with voltaic black knight and faded tones.
