Cainhurst & Upper Ward are really overrated, i think people forget how short they are, not to mention how annoying Upper is with the brainsuckers

Cainhurst isn't that short if you explore all the side rooms. Upper Cathedral is but if it were much longer the brainsuckers would get annoying, I don't have issues with them as is because there's only a few. Both areas are elevated by 2 of the best bosses in the base game tbf

A scary/brutal feudal japan or european fantasy setting with quirks like evil chickens and flying hydras are way more interesting than a scary gothic werewolves+tentacle aliens setting. Because the latter has always been the default setting for "scary". It's cliche

Cainhurst just has rooms with ghost lady swarms and sniping bookshelf enemies over and over, and the Upper Cathedral Ward is just werewolves and human-cthulus spammed everywhere. I'm not sure what people like so much about them
