The bosses in Sekiro are really good, in BB there is like 5 good bosses, including the DLC

DS2 > Sekiro > BB > DS > DeS > DS3

I didn't say anything about length. It feels insubstantial in the departments of world building and character variety/build depth. It would be a solid rental game if that were still a thing.

By good do you mean hard? It's true that the only hard bosses in BB are in the DLC and Chalice Dungeons, but all the bosses have immaculate art design and are fun to fight.

Dunno, man. Sekiro is making me want to do NG+ more than any Souls game ever did. That extra skill tree you unlock at the end that requires completion of the other skills trees is such a nice touch for end game.

Different mechanics, setting, etc. I enjoyed BB (my favorite Soulsborne), but with all the flaws it has, I prefer Sekiro

Is it just me or is the lighting engine really shit in Sekiro? It looks like lighting from Quake 1 where every torch and light source has this spherical blob and everything else is bland and monotone.

Bloodborne for sure. I'm finding Sekiro be extremely limiting and unfun as a result of that. I don't want to be forced to block a dozen time before I can land a proper attack. It's not fun and it's time consuming.

Gameplay wise nioh is better than soulsborne games but sekiro is better

Sekiro illuminates how easy their other games are. In Bloodborne you can literally speedrun past most enemies in the game. In Sekiro you'll get cut down quickly if you try that, you have to directly deal with most enemies through combat or stealth, and the combat is more challenging and timing oriented.

Sekiro is definitely a step in the right direction to making a great action oriented game, but even now Nioh is still infinitely better. It only edges it out because the level design is absolutely beautiful and I love the world building from From. Sekiro is definitely better than BB, but they have a long way to go on the combat and skill tree to reach perfection.

Lol it’s not too bad. Really taking in the environments and character design with the trainer lol. It changes the whole ‘dressing everything’ feeling to looking forward to what the next mini boss is/looks like. Plus I can get it all over and done with in probably half the time.

The combat in Sekiro is far better and more engaging than Souls could hope to be, but the overall game design of Souls is a far more engrossing and enjoyable adventure.

Sekiro's combat is able to be dominant and far superior because it's so pigeon-holed into what it is; you're a shinobi, and the combat systems are all designed around that single focused idea, and it allows for really good swordplay and countering/engaging combat. Souls couldn't do that because of build diversity and how different you can choose to play through them.

I like them for different reasons and I think comparing the two is dumb as shit.

I like Sekiro, but it makes me homesick and I want to go back to Bloodborne. Even if it isn't Bloodborne, I just want another Victorian gothic game. Deracine was sort of good for this but it wasn't enough.

A Feudal Japan setting has potentia; I'll take it over another generic, gritty western fantasy setting. The real issue is that FromSoft just didn't really do all that much when it came to Sekiro's plot or underlying lore to begin with.

That and it's going to be hard for them to top Bloodborne's story and lore; half of the fun/discussion/nostalgia from that game came from its atmosphere and the story suddenly going into completely unexpected, batshit-insane Lovecraftian territory after the first 1/3 of the game.

Bloodborne is comfy. Looking back and thinking ten tries on a lot was hard. Sekiro is honestly so hard that the experience is not comfy at all. Every boss in Sekiro you finish and just say 'what the fuck'. I would say even Lady Butterfly is harder than OOK by a wide margin.

Bloodborne was a step backwards from Dark Souls 2 honestly. Having 20 health pots from the start was retarded, and having to buy them was even worse. The teleports didn't even have pictures to show you were they were. That.. and the crap chalice dungeons taking away from dev time making the main game short as hell. I think it took me like 22 hours ignoring the chalice dungeons, which is nothing. Dark Souls 2 took me 35 hours without DLC.

Sekiro > DaS > Bloodborne = DaS III > DaS 2 = DeS

Oh absolutely. The game is not without its problems, but combat and build versatility are absolutely nailed. I was really hyped for Sekiro because I thought it was going to bring the more intricate and exciting combos and builds of Nioh with the more refined levels and polish of souls, but it didn't.

Not a bad game at all, but I'm 2/3rds of the way through now and all it really succeeded at was making me more hyped for Nioh 2 and hoping they fix the story and level design. AND ADD SOME FUCKING NAGINATAS RRREEEEEEEEE

BB2 has already been heavily hinted at for next gen. I'm pretty sure Sony wouldn't sign a deal with them for just one exclusive too.

Roll spear and it's all about keeping your enemies at mid range and crowd controlling them with your trips. Or roll something like dual katanas and long strong combo the fuck our of bosses between dodged and blocks.

The combat is really a fuckton of fun, and will spoil Souls games from you. And this is coming from somebody that considered DS1 the best game ever on release and beat it in 2 hours on his 4th playthrough.

DaS2 has a more memorable visual style, environments, soundtrack, and it has by far the best build and weapon variety in the series. The quantity over quality at least makes for fun PvP.
