Aquas is the one stain on otherwise perfect game

The tank levels suck ass too

no they don't, blowing up that train one chunk at a time is fucking hype as fuck

Aquas is completely fine when you play with CPU overclocks and remove all of the slowdown

How was SF64 on the 3ds?

Pretty decent.

I wasn't expecting to have to use this
You're very lucky

NO! Hit the BRAKES!
I CAAAN'T STOOOP IIIIIIITTTT!!!

No. Titania sucked ass. Macbeth was fucking great.

IM A ALLIGAYDUH

Nigger, Macbeth is the best level in the game. You want a worse level than Aquas? Fucking Zoness.

>Aquas
>Zoness
>Sector Z

Why is hard path so fucking shit?

>not even the highest scoring unless you abuse the glitch in Aquas
seriously, what were they thinking?

tier list
>area 6, venom (blue route), sector x, meteo
>macbeth, sector y, corneria
>titania, zoness, solar
>sector z, bolse, katina
>aquas, fortuna, venom (red route)

obviously the best route is corneria > meteo > katina > sector x > macbeth > area 6 > venom, but sadly this means you can't play blue route venom

What pills do you take that make you think hard mode venom isn't the hypest shit
Its the only level where you have a realistic chance of failing on Normal, plus Star Wolf 2 is dope city

there's nothing extra to shoot, every decent player should score exactly 204 points unless you're using the charge shot scoring glitch

Swap Solar and Zoness for Bolse and Katina imo.

AQOURS SHUUGOU!
BANGOU!

ICHI!

bolse i may have underrated because i haven't played it in so long, katina though i always collide with someone and break a wing (expert mode) and it seems like there's no way to prevent it but luck or running from the fight

If you stop barrel rolling and moving for 2 seconds in aquas some bullshit is gonna rape you instantly

Sector Why was technically Hard Path right? Guess that and Area 6/Venom B made up for the other shit levels (Almost)

I don't remember it correctly, but my favorite moment is when Slippy's admiring the view but you still can't see shit.

Why have I never appreciated how kino theses level opening cinematics are before

Attached: pikachu.png (1354x784, 869K)

Venom 2 should have had the first part of Venom 1 before the Star Wolf battle, then it would be perfect. Or Area 6 should have just been attached to it and had a different level before

I do not care what you guys say or how good you are

That fight you have with star wolf outside before facing andross on the hard path is without question the hardest fight on the game.

Sliipy gets buttfucked instantly, then peppy, then falco and you take on a full brunt gangbang beastiality

I hope they put 64 3D on Switch

This is canon to me. Star Wolf BTFO's the others, but Fox takes them out one by one on his own and the goes off to 1v1 Andross.

Zoness was hell as a kid.

>tfw you accidentally shoot down a Cornerian fighter and Bill scolds you

Good stuff man.

The contaminated planet was the worst one

I preferred Lylat Wars, desu.

I read somewhere that the enemy ships in the Katina stage were designed to look like the Husky unit ones in universe. I find that fucking hilarious.

Why can't the turret gunners hit for shit?

>fly in front of me while I’m fighting enemies
>get mad at me for shooting you
Famm if you think I’m about to stop shooting just because you wanna be a dumbass then you have foolishly mistaken.

How'd he get away with it?

Fuck all of you, Zoness was cool

I wish the All range missions were better. Two of them are on the piss easy path, one of them is just fighting Star Wolf and Sector Z...exists.

Katina is the best one. It's also my favorite level fuck ya'll.

They've broken through the first line.
They're through the second line!
THE LAST LINE HAS BEEN BREACHED!

Its optimal to just shoot literally anything that moves.

This game is my shit. It pleases all my senses from beginning to end. The dialogue, the music, all the variety of levels, not ONE bad level, not one bad moment, that ABSOLUTELY CRUNCHY dieselpunk violence God damn. A pure shot of joy right up your anus.

The amount of people they killed in this one game alone is astounding and they gave 0 fucks.

That guy that was driving that train straight up died man. You cut the fucking brakes on the train, man, the entire fucking brakes and he drives that shit straight into a building.

it definitely stood the test of time better than most games from that era. probably because you didn't have to worry about camera control.

There were probably hundreds of factory workers as well.

A few other N64 games hold up. F-Zero X for sure. Blast Corps I'd say, I was playing it on Rare Replay last week. But generally the games were pretty painful to play. I'd do it all over again for the multiplayer memories though.

The best part is the Mission Accomplished shot is of Fox casually driving away from the explosion.

The worst part of the game is Andross' new VA. It's great.

This is a fucking hilarious observation.
MERC LIFE

Dude thats how you make the big bucks in this game. Slaughter them apes bro.

That voice line from General Pepper when he gets the bill is priceless.

Did Nintendo ever release a bad N64 game? I'm pretty sure every game they developed holds up even today.

Dogfighting a Star Wolf team member using a somersault with the theme blaring is one of the best moments in all N64 games.

I CAN"T STOP IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

>+50

Justifies the existence of Snub Fighters in space. That's why.

Actually, that's more than just a science fiction staple. Even in modern times it's not a picnic to target a fucking fighter jet from a battleship.

Glover

>not going to Fortuna then going to Venom (hard) for the revenge Star Wolf fight
It's the only way to make sense of the "Let's see how you handle our new ships" from THE GREAT Leon since Star Fox 2 is somewhat not void.

so good and dreamlike how your wingmen don't talk at all, maybe they can't radio in because you're moving ftl or something

Fuck I love the music of this level

Zoness was great, the only bad part about is you have to go through Aquas.

Katina and Zoness swap for Solar and Sector Y

Nah, it's okay, they were all mostly just monkeys.

>glover
>nintendo

I always hated sector z. I never played it again after getting the medal.

It was a good concept, and a nice level but really really hard to get the medal, especially if you had Kat "helping" out

Why could they never get the magic of SF64 right again

HERE COME THE LITTLE HYENAS NOW
COME A LITTLE CLOSAH
IS THAT IT?

because they couldn't accept they hit the perfect formula with sf54, and so had to keep changing shit with each successive entry to "make it better"

Why did they rape Slippy so often?
youtube.com/watch?v=IauPPCv1x4I

>Adventures was an entirerly different game to begin with that got SF slapped on it
>Assault started off as a multiplayer game and eventually had a single player mode stuffed into it that re-used the multiplayer maps
>Command was too light on flight combat with no combos and terribly bland levels
>Zero looked to be everything we had asked for but was just a halfassed SF64 fanwank with shitty controls and none of the charm

I think the biggest dissapointment for me outside of Nintendo never managing to make a decent successor to 64 is the fact that they managed to get Project Aces and Platinum games to develop entries and they still managed to fucking bungle it somehow

Attached: Birb.jpg (496x600, 34K)

Aquas has great atmosphere, but I agree that it's a slog to get through.

I DIDN'T EXPECT TO HAVE TAH USE THIS
YOU'RE "VERY" LUCKY

>Assault multiplayer was fun as shit
>nobody to play with now that I'm a grown ass man
>no bots

Attached: 478.jpg (450x513, 78K)

I played the game so much as a kid but sucked at videogames, like favorite game of all time. The hard path stuff was a mystery to me

Imagine my fucking face when over a decade later I finally hit a warp zone. The kid in me... Was proud

Attached: 1547151048815.gif (400x475, 334K)

Yeah whatever Falco

How did SF64 have such incredible, iconic voice-acting? Is it just because there weren't that many voiced games on the system or what? I swear like every other line is super quotable.

I think it is the best "Movie game" to ever have been made. Playing through it lasts about as long as a movie, and the voice lines are delivered with such zeal you are able to take them seriously even if they are hammy. It is also one of the few games where the choices you make actually matter, giving you a completely different experience depending on if you clear objectives or not. I also love that you don't get a game over if you fail to clear your objective, you just get a different path. Only real fail state is dying.

I could never get the gold medal on that shithole.

>kid me gets to Sector Y for the first time
>scene shows 3 robots
>think I get to play a robot like how I got to play a tank that other time

It's not meant to be that dark on original hardware, right?

It wasn't just Star Fox 64. Pokemon Stadium also had exceptional voice work from the announcer. They really sell the deliveries on the message in those games.

Holy fuck I can't believe I wasn't the only one

Attached: DK_BigLoa.gif (336x206, 930K)

I would legit pay for switch online if that was ported with online multi, and unlock conditions were fixed. 260 matches for Zoness was bogus

This is it, the semi-finals. No-one wants to lose having come this far

Zero makes me so angry. And people wonder why modern Nintendo games are so bland. Just take that man behind the barn already. I don;t want the next good Star Fox game to be some shitty Indie/3rd party collaboration, just make a good game.

Attached: IAefk5C.jpg (630x848, 152K)

>is the fact that they managed to get Project Aces and Platinum games to develop entries

To be fair, Platinum was only there mainly to do assets and shit. It wasn't the same thing they did with Namco and Assault.

Zero was EAD/Miyamoto's baby from top to bottom. If Platinum was given full control, it would of been an entirely different game altogether.

Looks like the pollution has started...

Attached: 1551113691116.jpg (790x988, 234K)

wat

That's some weird ass Hellraiser cosplay

Also it has nothing to do with Star Fox

WATCH OUT FOX

Which just makes the whole thing even more baffling because A: Zero doesn't look that great. B: Why would a humongous corporation like Nintendo who have literally thousands of employees need to outsource asset work? And C: Why would you bother to recruit Platinum Games for anything but gameplay in the first place?

None of it makes any fucking sense
