V was literally a one-shot character like Lucia and lacks the sheer options and refinement that Dante and Nero have from multiple games of their own. I think either eleven or even merely six months before release, Itsuno entered the project and they basically didn't have a working game at all, to the point that even Stinger basically didn't work whatsoever. V seems built for a first time playthrough. He has a cool aesthetic, a neat concept, a great theme, but honestly when you go through playing as V the first time your whole experience is just "wow cool lightshow good music" as you vaguely direct your summons and don't think too hard. You don't mind it as much but once you've seen it you don't want to replay his missions because you can't actually do cool, controlled shit like Dante and Nero. V is an experimental Dragon's Dogma class in a completely different genre of game.

ok one huge advantage to single rocket launcher I've noticed is the midair gunslinger move. It does the same damage, but gives extra height and you fall slower. The double version does the same damage but drops you to the ground almost instantly.

another advantage of the single rocket launcher is the normal charged shot is better. it does 400 damage (vs 600 for the regular lazer), but comes out much faster, has much less cooldown, and can be cancelled at any time.

but the double has an advantage for the grounded gunslinger moves, plus it gains the superlaser.

DMC is basically fighting games in terms of practicing. It is like a musical instrument, you have to invest a fuckton of hours into zealous everyday practice to become even decent. Otherwise, don't even bother.
