Best art style / aesthetic of the entire series.
The walls of text ruin replayability though

>the atmosphere and mood of the game in general

And it's on the shitty little game boy. How did they do it?

Best story driven Metroid
But also the first story driven Metroid

If you compare it to Other M it's basically the same shit, not structurally, that just makes Other M a rehas, but you can see Samus monologuing and being railroaded in Fusion much like Other M does it. The difference being that there's a mystery going on in Fusion with an actual, fucking overpowered, ready to fuck you up threat.

That being said it's linear as fuck.

Nacho suit is dope and I hope we get at least a tutorial segment in the next Metroid with it.

It's still the GBA which is about on par with a Super Nintendo. What's really a feat is Metroid 2 on the original Game boy.

The bosses are probably what Fusion does best Gameplay wise.

Love it.

It's very cool, Bateman, but that's nothing. Look at this:

is hyper metroid actually good or is it a meme

Not as good as Super, but better than the other (2D) Metroid games IMO.

I personally prefer it over Super although there are certainly things that Super does better namely the more secret movement options, it's a shame we haven't gotten a follow up to either game yet, the pixel artwork in Fusion is stellar and honestly is something that should be used again.

It's good, I like it a lot...

Immersion has nothing to do with hardware.

A well designed game that captures all your attention will be immersive even if it's just a text adventure on a commodore 64.

Graphics and hardware only might help but are not necessary at all.

Damn, I love this game. I need to play it again.

My second favourite and the first one I played. In love with the atmosphere it created, still get nostalgia goosebumps from SA-X, and those bosses were fun as fuck. Helps that the game wasn't exactly easy.

Personally I feel that it is a very very good game but the worst of the 2D metroids (I have also only played the 2D metroids). It has some of the highest highs (SA-X sections) but also some of the lowest lows (frustrating shit which the devs didn't mean to be frustrating)

It's linearity will always mar its legacy. Excellent focus on action for a 2D metroid. Not really much to say, it's a serviceable game that went off the beaten path that was established for the series in Super Metroid, and that will always make it the black sheep of the 2D games.

I wish more Metroid games had horror overtones.

It's my favorite 2d metroid

I don't even know why it's linear. The linearity felt so artificial but i guess that's the point.

user that's a romhack in progress.

>this will never be finished
>demo never

this was the real horror.

Metroid II is also linear. If anything, the only two dimensional games that were non-linear were the first one(along with its remake) and Super.

Oh really? It's been a long time since I played it. That seems really cool though.

I think the whole point of the linearity is so that the sections where you are allowed to explore and where you fill in the map yourself feel that much more liberating

What hack?

I also think it has to do with the plot in that the federation wanted to keep samus on a leash.

Have you seen the out of order ice missile skip? Peculiarly enough the game references its hard locked linearity in a very meta statement.

I don't even know what you're trying to get at with this statement. Metroid 2 is even more of a black sheep than Fusion to the point that only people looking for the silver lining can appreciate anything that it has to offer. Thank god for AM2R.

The movement is SO slick. I love that little stop she does when you crouch or uncrouch midair. That kind of shit rocks my socks off. Currently doing a no extra E tank run wish me luck boys

>I don't even know what you're trying to get at with this statement.
That Metroid II was the one that people consider the black sheep more than they do Fusion.
>Thank god for AM2R.
That OST was bad for the game, otherwise an excellent game

X-Fusion.

atmosphere of the original metroid is better
