This. New FeMC is the real hero here. Rather than force her ideals on others, like the phantom thieves, she wants to help people who desire to help themselves.

They're intentionally trying to make her bland in order to make her easily self-insertable. That is the only reason they chose a plain Jane design. It does not cost any money at all to think up an original, flashy design for a single character, especially for a company as big as Atlus and a franchise as rich as Persona.

I'm hoping she's a new character with a different POV covering the story (kind of like FES except happening at the same time as the main guy and with a new character). I don't want a retarded repeat of P3 where one MC can't exist without the other. In this case, it'd be neat if she follows her own story in-universe that's parallel to Joker's.

Also make Akechi and/or some of the other guys romance options, so it'd separate those who just wanted to romance Akechi from the dirty fujos.

Personally, I think that if that IS the case, this is pretty interesting. The idea of another character kind of in the vein of Makoto, except that she doesn't ultimately agree with our methods like Makoto does. I just think there's a number of ways they could take it, and all of them are pretty potentially intriguing. Is she gonna work with Goro or Shido or Yaldy, not knowing what they're all about? Is she gonna be another Persona user, but maybe one working independently of everyone else? I'm very interested to see where this goes.

They need to get in basically every voice actor who worked on the project to revoice just to replace male pronouns. She's in a different year than Joker, so a whole new set of teachers and questions. You'd also have to rewrite a lot of basic interactions that hinge on Anne sitting in front of you since no one is doing that anymore since she's a second year. You'd have to rewrite Shido entirely because no one is going to buy he got beaten up by a middle school girl, so who knows what they'll have to do for that. Next, you'd have to write a whole bunch more confidants that are male instead of female, and animate them. This is the tip of the iceberg.

To be fair, for the first three missions, they were always backed into a corner. Up until Haru's dad, most of it was either self defense or to save someone. Even in the case of Haru, they wanted to save her from getting sold off to an asshole groom.

If they didn't do this, I feel like they would have at least had to give the player an option to veto a mission, and that would have fucked up such a linear game.

She could have a different name so we can differentiate her from Joker, just a convenience thing so we don't have to constantly call her FemJoker.
The slot placement would also apply if she's not a Female replacement for Joker, being playable in her own story, or if she is a full on FeMC, but she also appears in the male route so we don't have to fucking argue if she's canon or not.

In the age of companies priding themselves in saying certain games are exclusives, I see literally no reason how it confirms PS4 exclusivity.
