Question to all the people complaining about input lag, have you guys ever played PS Remote, PS Now, or the Steam Link streaming (now that it's possible to stream outside of your local network without a VPN) ?

I ask this because while the latency is noticeable on some games, I play most of my PS4 games streamed to my PC already, and most of my PC games streamed to my phone/laptop using Steam when I'm travelling and I don't notice big issues at all. As long as it's not a fast-paced multiplayer competitive game.

Steam link is useless, nowadays you just need a raspberry pi, a smart TV, or a phone. The android app works better anyways. TVs literally come with the steam link app already installable on them, there's no point in buying the steam link device itself.

The problem with Yea Forums is that most people in here have only a black/white vision of life. I'm a hardcore gamer, I play all kind of fast-paced competitive games. I also play a shitload of games streamed. It honestly is not a big deal and it just works fine. You lose a bit of quality (artifacting if connection starts lagging) and there is some input latency, but with the added benefit of portability and being able to play literally anywhere, for a lot of games I play I really don't mind/care. Sure, playing on my PC at 144hz with 1ms input latency is so much better, but it also means I need to be sitting in my chair all the time and I need to stay home. I can't go on a field trip somewhere and play on my phone/laptop, I can't do it while commuting or while I'm in bed. I won't be playing CSGO or similar fast-paced games while streaming, but 90% of other games are okay. Third person (or even some first person) adventure games, RPGs, visual novels, turn based games, RTS (the non-hardcore ones), puzzle games, you name it... All kind of games work just fine streamed as long as your expectations are as they should be.

Yet people on this board fail to understand that.

The problem with Stadia isn't the technology, the problem is whether or not Google actually follows through with a good product and supports it enough for people to actually trust them not to drop it after a year or two.

I've played Stadia from my home connection, not that great of a connection either, far from the best in my country as I don't live in a big city, and I've had 20-30ms input latency on the internal prototype. I've never seen it spike beyond 50ms even when using 4G. Just letting it out there.
