Get the unnoficial patch.

For your first playthrough, anything but Nosferatu and Malk. They have the most unique of all the playthroughs but you wont get the full experience if you play this way first.

Nosferatu are basically like a stealth only playthrough, you fuck around in sewers and cant be seen out in public.

Malks play closer to the other normal playthroughs, but ALL of their dialogue is different, think a 0 intelligence playthrough in Fallout but instead of a retard you're a lunatic.

Because it's common info given to new players. Malkavian has whole new dialogue that doesn't make sense to new players, Nosferatu face violates the masquerade and you have to avoid contact with people, so you have to use the sewers. Personally I think nosferatu is fine for first playthrough.

Check the mega in the /tg/ thread. Some V20 books work as nice introductions to the setting, but the fifth edition, which is what Bloodlines 2 is based, is also nice. The writing quality varies, but generally it's sub-par.
