Nah, I bought the base game and learned the characters who were out at the time (I started in Skull Rain, Y1S3) very easily. Yeah, it was a lot less but it took me seeing what they do like once. I bought the season pass within a month of playing because they (and the new ops coming in Red crow) looked fun.
There's also videos made by ubi themselves where they show what everything does. It's really not hard to understand based on that.

It's not really ridiculous, I'll admit I have season pass (10?% extra renown a game) but I don't think I bought anything with renown all of year 3. I didn't even need to buy the year 4 pass with how much I have. and I'd probably have enough for half of year 5 at least.

Stopped playing when uncounterable characters were introduced. First it did not matter who you picked you could always counter if you looked for traps and stuff.

Then ELA came out and you could place traps in unreachable places except if you were Thatcher or Twitch. Wich sucks.

Then characters like Clash came out. Who you can’t counter whatsoever if your 1vs1 her. Then other uncounterable characters came out. Like the blowtorch guy. If he reaches your walls there will always be a hole in them.

Not with that TTK. Your characters are the size of the kansas and never further than 50 meters, your guns are laser beams, the whole of the game is predicated on positioning/angles. There's a high skill floor due to the high burden of knowledge, but the game's skill ceiling is the lowest among competitive MP games.

Plenty wrong with Siege but operator balance is pretty decent. Constant updates and buffs for base operators and plenty of them are top tier and tend to be better off than most DLC and plenty of dev data/notes on balance.

Comms isn't what makes it toxic, abuse from stacks do. If you have a 3 or ideally 4 stack you can do whatever you please with the last random. Fuck them over at every turn, damage but don't kill them, never revive them or follow up on anything, and most common just vote to kick at any time. My group does it all the time, if there's 4 of us together the poor 5th random is prime bully material. They need to add a mode like CoD's Mercanaries playlist where there's no parties or team stacks allowed, solo only and you must be in game chat to queue up in it.
