I'm gonna be a space trucker/mercenary! I already bought all my ships instead of buying a new car irl. It's ok though.

I thought they hadn't figured out on-planet stuff.

WTF ITS A SCAM
THATS NOT TRUE

new 300i+ is pure sex

they have a city now youtube.com/watch?v=NpbIEZtCKgM

I've done a run to an outer gate of Lorville.
Felt like I was running for more than five minutes.

someone post a webm of the herald ship

Can you play as your captain and move around in your ship like was promised?

What do you mean by play as "your captain"? But yes you can move around the ships.

As long as someone is in the pilot seat of the ship so it keeps moving, you can walk around ships.
Though there's occasional bugs when in a ship where you will suddenly die, possibly from network lag not calculating your position properly.

The guy who pilots the ship instead of playing as the ship itself.

reminder that even if this comes out it will still be a p2w piece of shit with all the backers having unlimited insurance and massive amounts of headstart currency and equipment

yeah, but can they afford friends to run all their ships?

Don't worry, you'll earn just enough in fps modules to get a ship by 2030 if you play every day after release.

Most scams look good at first glace.

just pay up or farm like a chinese you fag or even better, git gud
the fact that I can kill people with 150-250 bucks in my 60$ one is all I need to know this ain't no p2w

So what are the odds that Scam Citizen will be delayed by another five years because Chris Roberts suddenly thinks "Hey, if we can get ships to transform like that, how about we add in ships that can turn into ground vehicles and then have ground vehicle battles!"?

Well, more like there are salvageable aspects of it in art direction and animation and whatever, even if the "game" never comes out.

what happened to that exotic pr gal with nice titties

There are some decent ship designs that would look nice as Freespace 2 mods (though obviously they'd have to be graphically downscaled), but that's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

>star citizen is actually turning into something pretty neat after years of being called a scam
what are some games about redemption despite being faced against the greatest of odds?

I feel sorry for everyone who think this isn't vaporware.
And as for the people who actually gave them money.... let's say you get what you deserve.

15%

tho idk what you mean by 'another 5years' because it sure as hell ain't coming out until at the very least 2022

WOW SOME ANIMATIONS FUCK I BETTER SLAP DOWN 400 DOLLARY DOOS FOR THIS
Fuck off Chris

Looking up videos, it actually does appear there is "shit to do" in the game now, it's just all incredibly shallow looking. Like you can pick up missions to deliver things I think, and use a mining ship to go "mine" rocks no man's sky / subnautica style. It doesn't look interesting at all.

Does SC have an estimated release date yet?

I meant another five years on top of how long it's already going to be delayed. So instead of 2022, it would be 2027, because now Roberts wants his game to be Twisted Metal as well.

shill

>no but really it's a scam guys
>get more and more shit to do in game
>no but you don't get it it's vaporware, it's a scam! it's all fake trust me
whatever you say derek

no one is asking you to spend money on this garbage calm down.

How many years this game is in the making again? How much more before you can "play" it? And how much more before it stops being shallow garbage?

OH NO NO NO NO

what is the non-FPS side game (aka the main game) supposed to be in the end? Just some open world RPG?

Their audience seems content with just roleplaying space pirates or lonely pilots or yacht crew members so maybe that's all they need to implement.

Attached: PiG-29.jpg (1200x859, 83K)

I've been playing it all day tho, now I'm waiting for 3.5 to play it some more
dunno what you're talking about

no u

>How much more before you can "play" it? And how much more before it stops being shallow garbage?
You can "play" a lot of the game now but it is mostly shallow garbage.

youtube.com/watch?v=aqxAFksgR30

the whole thing is supposed to be a sandbox universe, which is why this thing seems constantly delayed by feature creep.

>people might want to race, so now we need a racing system!
>people might want to spacewalk, so now we need a spacewalk system!
>people might want surveillance cameras on their ship, so now we need a live picture-in-picture system!

i dont really mind, because the immersion will probably be pretty fucking insane by the time it releases, but i would like it to see it actually fucking release in the next 20 years.

You forgot your quote signs around playing.

Crytek are in such a fucking downward spiral that their devs are literally flocking to Star Citizen after they opened a studio in Frankfurt. Now that Star Citizen has loads of the devs and leads who literally built their engine the planet stuff jumped leap and bounds over the past couple years, they got planet-size procedural generation up and running within a year.

lol
what's your definition of playing user

and how is me spending my time killing other players in my spaceship not considered playing
or is that fake as well? was it all CGI and I was imagining everything or something

As an actual backer, I have no idea. All the gameplay systems are fundamentally flawed and not fun yet they're not accepting that and trying to pile on more features on top of a shitty foundation.

For example the flight model is boring as fuck, and proof of that is that they've revisited it 4 times already. After the 3rd time they really buckled down and defended it religiously for a few years

Star Citizzen is the multiplayer module, Peopel are waiting for the Single Player Module which is Squadron42.

which the gaming journo will be pissed that it isn't SW with a tranny played by laura dern

See, a smart dev would write those things down as possible features to be added after the game's release. Roberts isn't that smart.

I'm only interested in this if you can be a space pirate who can steal ships with his crew and resell them.

>which the gaming journo will be pissed that it isn't SW with a tranny played by laura dern
And that it instead features Mark Hamill, who trashed Last Jedi at every opportunity.

Pretty sure you can sell stolen ships but no keeping them.

Star Citizen has always been about playing as a human, at least I don't recall it ever not being the case.

he trashes SJW disney at every chance

what can you spend time doing in this game aside from space battles?

if I'm a loner pilot who bought my own small fighter and I have a cozy bed in the back of the ship, what I can spend time doing alone?

It's basically a cult by now, eh?

What the hell, this game isn't a scam?
Great, I get to play it and I didn't have to donate anything!
Wait-and-see-chads win again

Attached: 1475170803026.jpg (1000x1505, 161K)

Jacking off

Slightly better than a cult because they have a product at least, even if it's a piece of shit

you'll be able to do all of that, but we're not there yet
you can steal them but the guy will reclaim and it'll disappear from under your feet right now

They use a derivative of cryengine, so ground vehicle combat probably already exists

Cope

>what I can spend time doing alone?
You can go on Star Citizen forums and make threads explaining how you don't feel regret for giving Chris Roberts thousands of dollars for ship jpegs.

source? You're most likely just marked as a thief and unable to use the ship in lawful areas

Post yfw you didn't back it so you either get the tortanic of a millennium with mass suicides, or the game of your dreams

Attached: 72fca01334ccf36fcbc486c023a551e7.jpg (690x1163, 272K)

It's sad. I'd love a space sim where the player is actually a character and not a ship.

Imagine landing your cruiser in a port city, walking through the rainy, neon lit futurscape to turn in a bounty or something.

>spend 300 millon dollars rendering empty planets and starship animations

>completely ignore you're supposed to be making a game and not a demo thats packed in with a GPU

It was never a scam, at worst I'd say it was in a management hell, as they could not correctly scope their budget and their outsourcing partners didn't work out. They had to scrap and redo huge chunks of gameplay.

Currently they seem to have worked it all out by most part, and updates have been releasing consistently on time. New update is in testing and drops in a week or two.

post yfw you're not a coping poorcel

Attached: 1553053139970.png (430x430, 217K)

We're still going to play the same game at the end either way cultfag

Attached: 1496574871496.jpg (881x1236, 236K)

We had a discussion on /v LONG ago regarding that. pcgamer.com/if-you-steal-a-ship-in-star-citizen-it-will-disappear-when-you-log-out-of-the-game/ The reason you cant keep it is to avoid exploits

You could probably do something like that in Freespace 2 with the visual novel script. First-person wandering through a city or station probably isn't possible, though.

youtube.com/watch?v=CS2VnHmO7YY

the plan is for full thievery gameplay, including spoofing ID of the stolen ship and black market. But first they need to implement all those systems, and the current star system is not even finished yet.

even if star citizen actually manages to come out balance and economy are going to be completely destroyed by all the paypigs who spent tens of thousands of dollars on the best ships in the game.

Couple years ago they said that players wouldn't be able to own stolen ships and have them behave like a normal ship. There was a massive shitstorm about it because it's obviously bullshit

Piracy is basically going to be gimped

Yeah, they soon corrected themselves, as they meant it to be a temporary solution.

Guess they backpedalled hard or fucked up their communication again. I don't follow SC news these days because it's such a shitshow

By the time it "comes out" it will be behinde every other game in looks.

>the fact that I can kill people with 150-250 bucks in my 60$ one is all I need to know this ain't no p2w
>Imagine telling lies in an anonymous board
You're not fooling anyone user, most people here already this p2w garbage.

>let's say you get what you deserve.
Fucking shills got out of their containment board trying to fool new anons in buying this p2w failure.

CR's definition of P2W is fucking stupid to begin with

not so sure about that. If this was more like Eve then yea people buying Cap. ships would be an issue but from what we are seeing of the game play there will be some major draw backs to having those big ships and keeping them running so should lead to a lot of balance in the economy for those doing trade craft things. plus the number of people that have spent tons of money vs those that will be playing will be a drop in the bucket for the most part i think. the only issue i had was the land claim deeds, but they said people would be able to easily get those in game so not overly worried about it. no one in their right minds would take out the price ships early and run the risk of getting them taken out by swarms of small ships.

Now that this game is getting updates Derek Smart is really upping his shitposting game

>Shill brigade on full force on this thread.
This should give you an idea of what this game is.

Attached: AnvilValkyrie.jpg (1487x938, 359K)

Can I get a quick rundown on this guy

>reposts Something Awful garbage
top kek

Jesus thats the price of a game console.

He's a nigger who released shovelware garbage and has spent all his time since 2012 shitposting on Star Citizen whilst not bothering to develop his "released" game

Attached: 1452618215471.png (1425x839, 395K)

basically, he's a failed "indie developer" who has an obsessive grudge against Chris Roberts, because his games were popular, and Derek own game, Battlecruiser 3000, was absolute dogshit that everybody laughs at. He was in obsessive crusade against Roberts since the 90s, and the originator of the "Scam Citizen" meme.

>375 dollarydoos
