Remember it only gets worse from the tech demos
I'd like to make a comment on how horrible that xbox controller looks.
Resist Corporatism
>American ISP
>>PlayStation Network speeds
I think I might be able to navigate past the start screen.
I have it, and it feels and plays fine, just lacks rumble. That's it
AYYYYYYY I HAVE THE SAME CONTROLLER
This is just dumb cherrypicking.
5 frames is the best you're going to get
f310 rise up
So the Stadia demo booths have a variety of controllers? Surprised to see a Logitech F310 there, figured they would have just used xbone controllers assuming they didn't have their own available in enough numbers.
>2 seconds
jesus christ
>logitech controller
Not saying it's fucking up the results, just that logitech controllers are fucking garbage
Maybe it's to show it accepts anything
I'd like to play devil's advocate here and say that horrible input lag shouldn't really be a problem if you're going to play shit like Assassin's Creed where the game is barely controllable by humans anyway. You're just giving vague suggestions as to what you want the game to do and the animation engine decides whether the game will obey or not. 166ms of lag is hardly a problem in that case.
>dumb cherrypicking
>its one of the only footages avalabile
user no, bad user, bad
Logitech controls might be trash but I've never had latency issues with them.
I'm so furious this thing is going to succeed and further destroy gaming. Everyone at my work is super excited for it. I showed them the laggy videos, and they literally told me they couldn't notice the delay.
And reminder that this is literally the best case scenario where google themselves has hooked up the demo to their own network. For an average user, the latency would be much worse.
>when you're this contrarian
you've got to take a break from Yea Forums kiddo
Do they feel cheap? Yeah I will give you that, but that's all I will since it has the same performance as any other controller.
Except there's a legitimate reason to hate this garbage.
Stream gaming is shit, OP is the proof.
stadia a shit HAHAHAHA
Wait, are you serious? That logitech meme pad that literally everybody shills here has got no rumble?
I have a chinese replica of the 360 pad with better grip, turbo button, proper xinput support and it has flawless rumble despite being cheaper. Are they mad?
the main appeal of stadia is that it may very well cost 0$ + subscription/game purchases.the cheapest entry point of all gaming.
it also has amazing marketing potential ( free demo, stateshare through socials, stream integration) and easily allows for games that could have never been made before (high tech requirement MMOs, massive maps/simulations/armies that would destroy an average Gayman's PC CPU and RAM).
"hardcore" ""people"" like us who are looking for a visually impressive experiences are better off, and already have, getting a 900$ PC and have no desire to play on a 180 ms lag stream with youtube compression. The good thing is that *when and if* that amazing multiplayer game that can't be done on any other platform will come to STADIA, we will buy it/subscribe for one month and then be done with it. unlike PC/XBOX/PS4/NINTENDO you won't have to sink hundreds of $, "marry" the hardware and become a X fanboy.
I agree. They work extremely well and with accuracy and zero technical issues for exactly 101% of the warranty time.
I am That is my controller and sadly yeah, no fucking rumble, my only complaint
>360 pad
enjoy your garbo d-pad
I don't play fighting games and it works very well for platformers. Not an issue.
Also, the next model up does
logitechg.com
I kinda want it since I like my f310 but fuck 50 dorrars for that
what?
It's 35€ here, not bad since the old one is like 30. But
>wireless
A full second of delay since the input registers and the action occurs. He's counting slow mo.
>Well digital foundry confirmed that it's the sa-
The F310 may have stiff triggers, shitty DPad and awful stick deadzones, but the one thing it does have is tight, low input delay.
They feel solid, built like a tank, really. You could swing it like a flail and cave in your wall and it'll probably still work. However, it's basically been a "don't fix what ain't broken" controller that has been around forever. Logitech has been making virtually the same exact PS2-knockoff controller for over fifteen years with almost no changes to its design. The only upgrade from the "Action Controller" to the F310/F710 has been adding native xinput support. They're really in a need for a significant design update.
F310 is arguably the best $15 gamepad you could get compared to the countless Chinese shit, but it's still a $15 gamepad using a 20 year old design. I have one in my drawer just in case my Dualshock dies.
I mean, anyone that's not retarded already knew this. Until we can defy the laws of physics, streaming action games will NEVER be feasible, no matter what.
It's the Logitech F310. Has a really good D-pad. I use it for emulation.
>in need of significant design update
I actually picked up my f310 and re-read your post, and I will retract the cheap feeling statement, but they really don't need a design update. Other than this thing have rumble features nothing else needs to change, maybe, MAYBE more color options and that's it
wait, do people still use Logitech gamepads? are they good?
The problem with the F310 for me is if i use any other controller such as a dualshock or something it's hard to get used to the F310 again
I have that controller. it PAWNS
Being that I just played sekiro early with that exact pad, I can attest that they actually make mustard gas
I feel the same, when I am using another controller the sticks feel loose and then after I go back to my f310 they feel stiff, though I prefer the f310
>muh cost of entry meme
this is what's wrong with it. just like consoles. there are other ways to bring down price of entry, but they involve COMPETITION, and all our multinational megacorp overlords are absurdly anti-competitive. they're not interested unless they can own it ALL, even literally all the hardware, now.
Every single Logitech controller I've used, whether a mouse or a joystick has had an obviously intentional design flaw that causes unnecessarily fragile components to wear and break down so you need to buy a new one somewhere between a month and nine months after the warranty expires.
I actually ended up disassembling and fixing my Attack3 joystick myself. The part that holds the X-axis potentiometer was built out of two tiny pieces of plastic instead of one solid one for no sensible reason and one of them had broken. There's no reason to build the joystick like that other than to ensure it breaks.
How many months of milking early adopters for those sub bux until they pull the plug and move onto the next thing like google always does?
Who cares? All controllers fail eventually, the only winning move it to learn how to fix them. Which is also what you should learn to do about a lot of the shit you own.
Not played the game but isn't that just the animation?
I am surprised that Swiss people can be this bad or intentionally bad at designing hardware but nowadays I have to admit that this is not uncommon with hardware manufacturers.
I don't want to agree with this but i had to splice wires
You're a fucking liar. The dpad on that thing is shit. And so are the shoulder buttons.
The entire thing is garbage, really.
aren't people worried that soon we won't own game but pay for services? It will be like Netflix but with games. Piracy will be annihilated
you are garbage
Many people play games on TVs with so much processing lag that the pixels might as well have been coming from a datacenter. Not everyone knows or bothers to enable game mode (sadly).
Piracy is nothing compared to complete non game ownership. That's the real cherry these companies want, paying to play no matter what you're playing whether it's old or new.
within six months
>Google connection
>Literally where you get your data from
HMMM
>All controllers fail eventually
Eventually yes. But not this quickly. I got my first personal computer in 2002, with a "windows multimedia keyboard" and a Microsoft Intellimouse 2.0. The mouse lasted until mid 2012 before the right click died and there had never been any other issues. I'm still using that same keyboard.
There will be leaks and hacks. Piracy always finds a way. People reverse engineered WoW servers and shit.
Why is everyone on this board so backwards and assfucked about streaming?
Someone reviewed Stadia playing AC:Odyssey at 4k 60FPS FOR FUCKS SAKES (nobody games at 4k 60fps not even PC fags) and said that aside from a few hickups and minimal input lag it was a very enjoyable experience.
This is the fucking beginning. Of course it's gonna be rough at first but fucking 4k 60fps???!!! Are you serious?
Yeah, I've never had a keyboard break either. Weren't we talking about controllers?
Quite impressive for 30 FPS. This is a lower latency than what millions of consumers happily experienced and paid for during the X360/PS3 era with Game Mode disabled (a common thing).
this will kill emulators, homebrew, modding, piracy, LAN parties, etc.
This is a game changer but in a bad way.
Faggot
you are not gonna reverse engineer and make work something built for such an high end and specific architecture as stadia.
user, A lot of people play 120fps 4k. But you know that, troll faggot.
so the same as modern consoles, okay
4k and 60 fps don't have any premium over 30 fps 720p when you make them go through 150 ms lag, IPS instability and video compression.
A keyboard is a controller. And I was talking about Logitech controllers which are all plagued by planned obsolescence.
Stadia is a bunch of virtual private servers running regular computer games. Do you think Ubisoft made a special version of Ass Creed just for google?
Imagine playing real games, and not cinematic bullshit, with such a disgusting input lag
Niggers on Yea Forums(nel) are actually defending this. They're unironically defending this turd.
What are some good third party controllers for PC?
I feel like XBOX controllers are overpriced.
A keyboard isn't a controller as we know it in the colloquial sense.
i was talking about stadia exclusives.
ofc multiplats game are gonna be pirated because...well they are already on PC anyway.
4K with compression doesn't count as 4K. 1080p uncompressed looks better. Proven by video content already, imagine all the shit going on in a video game with a shitty bitrate.
same, great cheap controller, too bad no rumble (aka no f510) but thats fine
all normie games (snoy exclusives) already have input lag, inertia and characters that move like a bag of potatoes
nobody will complain except for master race
VP9 is more efficient than the H.264 used on Blu-rays, what's your point? People put up with SHIT Netflix/YouTube encoding all day.
8bitdo makes good stuff, especially if you want something for emulation. I have a Gamesir and it's alright, pretty cheap too.
If you already have wii classic controller, you can get an Adapter from 8bitdo that lets you use Gamecube or wii classic controller wirelessly via bluetooth, so it works on phones, game consoles, PC, etc.
And if you already have a nes or snes classic, those controller work as classic controllers, so you can then use nice controllers for emulation. The adapter is only $20.
at least you own the consoles
Stadia exclusives will also be regular PC games running on a VPS.
Nintenchad would also flip their shit if they were forced to play smash, Splatoon, Maro kart or Mario odyssey with such terrible lag.
It's only a snoy thing.
My brother has one of those, I find them a little too small for my hands.
seems pretty unplayable here mang
no fucking way, thats like 1 second delay wtf
But I have all of this on my hacked switch?
I concede that it doesn't need a total overhaul, just a couple tweaks.
First of all the F310's sticks are flat, smooth surfaces with no texture or bumps, so your thumbs slip right off easily when using most thumb placements. Just give them some surface shape the likes of the DS4 or Xbone sticks.
Most importantly, get rid of the cross-shaped deadzone, and the sticks would be perfect.
The L2/R2 triggers are small and stiff - their size&placement making them even moreso stiff, along with the back end of the controller being broad. While it doesn't seem like that big a deal with fingertips on the shoulder buttons, a palm grip with longer fingers wrapped over the top is much more uncomfortable. If the outside-top were tapered in more, and/or the trigger lengthened, it would be more comfortable for more hand sizes/grip types.
I've tried using the dpad for fighting games for several months (before getting a new dualshock), and I've never really been able to get a good feel for quickly alternating between hitting diagonals and cardinal directions when using a thumb-rocking motion like I would with a dualshock's dpad. It's only that point specifically where I find the pad lacking - to guarantee the direction, I'd have to slide my thumb towards the edge of the pad.
I wish they would bring back the F510 (wired and with rumble). I wonder why it has been effectively discontinued with only the wireless F710 as the option with rumble. I'm rather thankful that the 310 lacks rumble, though, makes it very lightweight.
future of gaymin
they restarted it and it worked fine, don't believe everything you read on Yea Forums like this post
>the main appeal of stadia is that it may very well cost 0$ + 0$ 1hr trial of any game
switch is a handheld that can be docked, now try doing any of those on xbone
>Three blunders
>Coming Soon
What did they mean by this
Imagine trying to time a Royal Guard in a DMC game on Stadia.
*of goyims
see the elder gods in online games back when online just started if there's a will there's a way
I'm not ashamed to admit that I might just end up using it as a demo service without spending a dime. It would be more convenient to try a game out through streaming than to pirate it and delete it after you hate it. I'd then buy it elsewhere.
>aside from a few hickups and minimal input lag
Marketing speak for many glitches and bugs as well as a very noticeable input lag. Fuck off shill.
Okay, so get a gamesir The third choice is rolling the dice on Chinesium garbage.
I'm not a scary skeleton.
Pdp are even better than xbox.
There is no way that Stadia will have one single universal input lag. It'll depend on your internet, which most countries will likely have internet so bad, it can't even play. And then the latency will probably 300ms.
run a traceroute on youtube, I'll wait
>And then the latency will probably 300ms.
600ms for you if you misgender someone in a private gmail message :^)
Local corporation tries to fight the laws of physics. More at 11.
>some time ago
>loved the only two Prince of Persia ever released (Sands of Time and Warrior Within)
>find out Assassin's Creed is from the same creator of PoP

>it's shit
>game is slow as fuck and unresponsible
>it doesn't look like you're controling the character, but that you press a button to give the order of the movement
>see the news
>start to laugh
Turn-based games are back. Thanks, google.
lul fuck you, I'm fine with my PS2 and outdated PC.
Pliz, respect the Dreamcast.
>people defending this mess
I hope this never becomes the norm but with so many conformists I don't even know anymore
Is this a subtle way of saying they know it'll fail?
not trying to defend stadia, i think it's a shitty idea, but that's just how asscreed controls. the character doesnt really jump unless you move towards a wall
Isn't that the same amount of lag Odyssey has on consoles?
>gamesir
GTFO reddit trash
yes unironically
>that unplug of disgust
Beautiful
Is there no better game to test this shit on? Like a fighting game, or a 2D platformer? Assassin's Creed has never been my idea of a "responsive controls". Those games always felt sluggish because if the ridiculous amount of useless transitional animations with retarded amount of start up and end frames.
yikes
I hated the clicky R1/L1 buttons and sure enough, one of them broke after like three months.
