this
P5 and P2 are the good persona games, but SMT IV is shit... really hoping V can be fucking amazing
If we're talking about ''mainline'' SMT, then yes, I prefer SMT over Persona.
...But spinoffs are almost always better (DDS, Soul Hackers, Persona Q)
P2 and P5 are the worst persona games
Can Yea Forums name 5 demons that aren't Mothman?

love this game
SMT

Jack Frost

Mothman
fuck
Persona, SMT is tear inducingly boring
Mothman
pixie?
SMT
I've only played P1, P3 and P4 and P3 was the only one i really liked
P4 is the worst Persona game by far, only trannys like it
you missed the best ones user, play 2 and 5 right now
Persona 4 and 5 are the same game though
P5 is almost as good as 3
SMT. I can't remember the amounts of times I've replayed through SJ alone, but I couldn't force myself to finish P5.
Succubus
Cerberus
Gabriel
Lucifer
Ishtar
I like both for their own reasons, personally.
Jackie Frost
waiting for the EP undub to come out eventually before i play it and as for 5 i don't have a ps4, might emulate it in the future.
KEK no, thanks for revealing yourself as a plebian, leave your gay bright colored scooby doo shit at the door
Started with Persona and enjoy them and went to play SMT not long after and enjoy SMT a lot more.
Persona 4 already felt like a carbon copy of 3. I couldnt even finish 5 because of the feeling that I already played this fucking game aleady multiple times
ye wot
Surt
Loki
Nue
Succubus
Rangda
user persona 5 is for ps3 and the ps3 emulator plays it at a stable 30 fps with no major texture glitches
I can name seven;
Mahakala
Odin
Tezcatlipoca
Hitokotonusi
Mikazuchi
Arahabaki
Nagasunehiko
2EZ
i like the whole trinity: smt, persona, and digimon.
p5 felt way more like p2 than p4, if anything.
Persona 5 is what Persona 4 should have been.
not this shit again
i can't enjoy fatlus games ever since i got a full time job and bills. i used to be able to play them for 100s of hours but now i just can't bring myself to
>People unironically defending P5
P3 and P4 are the peak of Persona.
>P4
>Peak
how are they the peak of persona when they have worse stories and characters than p2 and worse gameplay than p5?
they aren't bad games or anything, they're just not the best of the series in any of the categories that matter for a jrpg.
Imagine having you terrible taste.
>P4fags talking about other's taste
>p4
I like them both. Feels pretty good to be able to enjoy things.
At least SMT doesn't remind me of my wasted youth
Jackie Chan
FUCK
I'd enjoy nuPersona if the other party members were allowed to change their personas again.
Do you even feel things?
>30 fps
On what processor?
Do not say anything negative in front of me I will cut you!
on anything you can overclock and pray it doesn't fry it
I like the more structured dungeon crawling and more fantastical settings of more conventionally structued SMT and SMT-like spinoffs like Devil Summoner/Soul Hackers.
I ain't much for dating sims or waifu stuff but I like Persona's defined party members, even if the class balance is all over the place, especially in the wake of the MCs usually having their wild card power just letting them be a swiss army knife for any situation. Really my biggest issue is so often for the vast majority of the time you want to just be hitting weaknesses to get through generic mobs.
Honestly as it goes Persona Q is great for this since
>dungeons are meticulously designed in EO- fashion
>every party member can be customized with sub-Personas
>element-aligned physical attacks exist so strength-based characters aren't just left to sit around buffing and jacking off for a few turns just to land one good crit
I just really like the magic-techno realism and post-apocalyptic feel of SMT most of all. I get the whole appeal is Demon Fusion but it wouldn't be too bad to have one or two consistent party members that aren't just doing random shit in the background like SMT4/A's, maybe with a specific focus like magic offense/buffing/physical offense, etc. It's not like it's without precedent in previous titles.
Don't bullshit me

They're both amazing series
SMT generally but persona 5 pretty much turned into SMT towards the end.
>element-aligned physical attacks exist so strength-based characters aren't just left to sit around buffing and jacking off for a few turns just to land one good crit
Funny joke because this makes actual magic attackers in PA completely useless. Not saying I'm against the idea but they really balanced it poorly
You're not wrong, but I feel like there has to be a better way than just leaving STRfags or MAGfags on the bench, and part of the solution means letting strength-based characters be able to participate in hitting elemental weaknesses.

can you guess which smt game I replayed last?
Best demon by far. Only power comes close for me.
Tam lin

and that fat ass goat
it's kind of funny how the persona game that went mainstream is the most "smt-esque" game in the series since p2.
I fought through a gauntlet of angels and then shot god in the face.
need anything else be said?
Negotiations are a magical experience
How are STRfags left on the bench in SMT games? Usually physical skills are considered to be the best endgame skills.

Mothman FUCK
Only in Nocturne
SMT FUCK PERSONA MANCHILDREN IT'S NOT EVEN A MAINLINE FRANCHISE HAHAHA ENJOY YOUR SHITTY DLC
Persona, but I had a lot of fun with the PS2 SMT titles I've played among Nocturne and the DDS duology. IV bored me to tears both times I tried to play it for longer than a few hours, really hoping V is for me though. I just really like fusion and skill trees so both appeal to me.
I will thanks.
That's not true. Hassohappa is notorious as breaking P4, for example. Strength is very much a legitimate strategy in pretty much all of them.
Oh shit, I meant Hassou Tobi, sorry.
>p4
>peak
>He thinks P2 is peak persona
Cringe. But agreed on P4 being the worst in the series
the stakes of the story just felt fucking miniscule in 4, at least in 3 you had the mystery of the dark hour to drive you forwards, and oh yeah actual bad things happen to party members rather than oh nooo my one sided crush died and turned out to fucking hate meeee.
>only in nocturne

Wait, I don't remember Cleo showing up in Redux
I suppose it's not worse than the PS4 but that isn't exactly a comfort
>Binge SMT IV
>Play through IV:A
>Start to get burnt out when starting the Cosmic Egg
>Beat Dagda
>Feel no desire to progress
Shit sucks. Same thing happened when I played Persona 3, I dropped it for a year when I was probably 45 minutes from beating the game.
Its fake
I never quite finished Devil Survivor 1 or SMT IV, in much the same way. The multipart final boss fights just got too much. Always meant to go back someday.
1. Wilder
2. Cu Chulainn
3. Power
4. Legion
5. Orkus
When I first played Persona 1 and Nocturne I put them on hold near the beginning for one month and 3 months respectively but I ended up loving them both
It's not Redux.

Though I don't understand why you would ask such a simple question.
Persona 5 only gets real interesting and with a chaos rute feel at the end of the game
Anyone here emulated SMT4 on Citra?

A classic
Nigga, you havent even fought krishna (again), do it
The next dungeon is kinda bad but eh, with that one you can take your time
I know that feeling all too well
Charge->Hassou Tobi is the meta in Persona 5 too
No wonder. You chose the bad ending route.
Fighting Ameno Sagiri in P4 with that boss theme was absolutely hype. Everything after was disappointing in comparison.
>choosing the route that’s equivalent to the “fucking loser sits by himself” reason from nocturne
But you get Flynn and a cocksleeve of choice
Works pretty much perfectly if that's what you're asking.
Thanks.

Do you think they will ever do something with races in SMT?
I started with DeSu abd in thing that I really liked was thatveach race had it's own perk like more movement mp recovery and so on.
I was really dissapointed when races really don't do much outside of fusion recipes.
I know megamis are often healsluts and that shit like toukis and kishin are often physical powerhouses, but I still would like it if races did something outside of being just labels.
I'm okay with it not mattering that much, it's main purpose is just to categorise demons and like you said for fusion. If they had special abilities then you wouldn't get some of them until halfway through the game and others until endgame. DeSu tried to balance this but you get dumb shit like Thor being level 15 even though they normally use levels as power rankings which I think is kinda neat
We could, maybe
IVA has the deepest combat system in SMT right?
Siegfried
Jinn
Hell rider
Succubus
Loki
>If they had special abilities then you wouldn't get some of them until halfway through the game and others until endgame.
I mean that could be fine.
I mean in DeSu atleast early on you don't really need shit like Tyrants, Asuras, deities or megamis in the early game abd even when you get them late game I wpuld still there are merits to using some of the more basic races like wilders or avians for the increased movement options.
So maybe they could make it so that the higher tiered races and their strong skills are are only really needed lategame without making the lower tiered races completely obsolete.
>IVA has the deepest combat system in SMT right?
I honestly think so.
Affinities are in my opinion one of the greatest additions since press turns and the updated smirks that give some skills extra effecys gives a new layer in combat.
Though I do think it's pretty shitty hama and mudo skills are now damage based instead of insta death.
Soul Hackers has more depth
Beldr
Belial
Jezebel
Beelzebub/Belzaboul
Belberith
Babel
Oni

Dante from the Devil May Cry series

>Though I do think it's pretty shitty hama and mudo skills are now damage based instead of insta death.
I liked the older way where hama did a percentage and mudo was insta-death. It gave a reason for both to exist.
You liked never using hama and mudo because of the good chance of you just wasting mp?
>There are people who actually think Persona is better than smt.
The only real good Persona games are 2 and maybe 1. P5 was fun the first half of the game then it decays hard even ignoring the waifu shitfest
Smt games are far superior except maybe IV A
And the spin off are great especially soul hackers.
Nocturne is a masterpiece
I'll be hobezt I never used hama or mudo all that, much, but hamaon and Mudoon were pretty good to make some of the more annoying encounters fuck off.
I have friends, so SMT.
>having friends
