Maxxing everything is impossible, but you can easily get all your favorites to 5. You can really minmax once you know what trainers give free skill points up to what thresholds, but that kind of info would really spoil a first run.

If you want a simple trick that doesn't hurt too much, sell skill books you find to merchants, and then you can buy them back and use them twice instead of normally just reading once for a single skill point.

The only criticism people have of Paradox is "muh DLC". Which only applies to the games they actually develop, not ones they publish. This is also ignoring the fact that the DLC is funding continued development of the game. In order to just keep putting out constant expansions for years, they need to make some money. It is literally the same as a MMO subscription, except if they made it a subscription you'd be paying more.

Well, even in the 90's we had a lot of The Sims add-ons and god knows how much improvement Neverwinter Nights received with it's expansions.
So it really ain't that immoral or has no place in this industry. It's there for decades. Sure some dlc's add little, but they're also cheaper and like i said before, you just get what you want. Not like these games never go full discount after while with the whole package included for the purists.
