Several outfits. They also removed a mechanic that let you get bad endings on your first attempt at sidequests (it's complicated to explain), but I suspect that was more laziness than anything else.

The only thing that can really affect the experience is the removal of bad endings from sidequests. It works in the favor of the player convenience since it lets you see all the good endings and get all asterisks over a single playthrough, but it's still removed content. It just depends on whether you consider it content worth experiencing.

I legit loved the resets for the exact reason you posted. Going from fighting 4v1 to full on 4v4 fights was some of the best fun and challenge I’ve had.

The people that complain about the resets didn't play the optional missions, there's no other possible explanation about it. I learned to actually play the game due to their difficulty and started to have way more fun with the classes and skills. After the 1st reset you can even disable random encounters and the 4 bosses go down easily anyway.

It's a sequel that was kind of on the cheap side and which reused the world map, all of the towns in the main story and most of the dungeons and the old asterisk holders in sidequests. It does have an almost equal amount of new towns and dungeons and a bunch of new asterisk holders and other bosses too. It has 30 jobs, most of which are from Default while others are new, and several were rebalanced, though you can still conjure up broken shit with the new jobs. Everyone agrees the soundtrack is worse than that of the first game, though mileage varies on how well it stands on its own. The game's pacing is a lot better and does the loop concept right without making you replay anything. Plot and writing are another point of contention compared to Default, I personally like them but others don't. Overall it's yet more of the same, you should get it if you liked the first game, especially since it expands on many plot and gameplay elements from it and closes the stories of its cast.

It would be better on Playstation though, I hope they cut the Switch version and foxus all that effort on Playstation, I know this won't happen, but it would be ideal, they could greatly improve the visual quality and render the towns in real time instead of those painted ones, and if I wanted to play it portably I could just stream it to my Vita. It's objectively the best thing that could be done.

It's coming to Switch sure, but it's going to target the PS4 first, that's where people buy their games, and that platform isn't heavily limited by weak specs.

Also regarding atmosphere, I think soundtrack really takes a big part in it, which is also why the current RPGs didn't really grab, because their osts where lackluster.

Bravely is such a weird series for me. I was super hyped about the first game despite never playing anything quite like it before. Bought it, playing about halfway, got bored. Didn't get Bravely Second because I figured it'd be more of the same.
Yet I still follow this shit. The characters, lore, music, it all has me hooked. I may not play a Bravely Third but I'm so in for everything about it.

I'm kind of in the same boat except I enjoy the gameplay. Series has a lot of charm but does a few things that I'd normally drop a game for, but I try to ignore how much it bugs me for the sake of continuing (Second had this problem way more than Default).

Really what did me in was the grind and how long-winded some of the fights could be. I liked the gameplay and the asterisk system and all of that, but when it came down to it I just couldn't be bothered to commit the time. Sometimes I still wish I did, but I'm happy I even gave the series a chance. Happier still that it survives even now.

I think the most fucked up thing about that was they beat each other to death while you fought the boss fight. Florem was skeezy but that was still a gigantic mood whiplash.

I'd put money on there being some kind of remaster to "catch people up" because Third will assuredly be a Switch game. There could even be a "for the sequel" version of Second to patch in all that stuff in Pocketbook of R that never got localized.

It really did. BD would have made a fantastic standalone. I like what they've expanded upon in the lore, but also feel like they could do better (or at least LOCALIZE ALL OF IT FUCK)

I'm unreasonably excited about guessing what Bravely Third's subtitle easter egg will be. The reveals of the subtitles of the first two games makes the game endings so much more satisfying.

I'd agree with this. They've got a real sweetspot in that Celestials can be both the player and also a few NPCs that are from "our" Earth's future. I also really like what they did with the summons.
