Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

>Castlevania "successor"
>nearly four years in development
>it looks and plays like this:
>youtube.com/watch?v=ziyxCRvqeIg
>meanwhile, the likes of Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Salt and Sanctuary, and Sundered have flooded the "niche" that Bloodstained was intended to fill

Is there any hope for this title at this point?
Or will it be another Might No. 9 disaster both technically and commercially?
Did you back it?
Will you buy it?
How well did Curse of the Moon do?

You made the exact same thread yesterday.

I refuse to believe Salt and Sanctuary is actually a good game. It looks like garbage.

>Is there any hope for this title at this point?
It'll be a nice gap filler until Silksong.

Looks like a typical igavania to me.

Yeah, I haven't played it but it looks like some shitty flash game you'd find on Newgrounds. It also looks like it takes too much from Dark Souls.

I thought so too at first but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot, give it a go. The artstyle is the weakest aspect of the game, the rest is a solid dark souls pastiche metroidvania.

It's okay. You get exactly what you pay for, which is a $20 2D dark souls ripoff.

Its actually extremely fun given it has local coop.Playing through it with a friend is great, really cool synergy with stuff like faith builds being able to buff, heal and revive.

Its a good game, makes the souls formula work in 2D, world is very large with lots of bosses and playstyles, the 2D gameplay mixes it up nicely.

The art style is fucking horrendous though and nobody will disagree with that.

I don't really get the sheer hate it seems to generate. Your characters faces look derpy but you're going to be wearing shit that covers that most likely. Enemies look just fine which is what really matters.

All those games are more like dark souls

I don't give a shit about hardcore and rogue like

>Salt and Sanctuary
How is the co-op on this? Same as single player?

Pretty good

Salt and Sanctuary is so fucking good. Let's discuss that instead.

>get down there without fighting The Coveted
>to the right is pogo fuckers and the bonfire is behind a platforming challenge where one mistake equals death
>to the left are those absolute motherfuckers that I can't avoid because I'm doing a heavy build and they still kill me in one "grab"
>every time I die I have to make the long ass trek down if I want to try again

Magic is fun and OP, you get magic scaling weapons so you can still do everything.

I vaguely remember some of what you're describing. The exploration in the game was fucking rad.
A shame the better sorcerous covenant is nearly at the end of the game but a magic build is great for NG+.

Does it play the same or are there some differences to keep in mind?

Why do Bloodstained characters run so slooooooooooooooow?

>Dead Cells

please. rogue shit with no level design or care hardly screams "Metroidvania" to me

Did you have a better rebuttal yesterday?

I don’t get it

There used to be a picture of Miriam standing in the middle of the MN9 and Yookalaylee protagonists.
Those games were poorly received, so they got edited out and then it was just Miriam standing alone.
Now it's two sassy metroidvania bitches getting ready
