Guess ARPGs really are dead.

is this game any good?
That shit is expensive, their add-on is the cost of a whole other game and I can't play all the classes without it.
Best arpg since Diablo 2. Don't listen to 3 retards who tell you otherwise.
Because its a boring game with awful animations and gear
do we know what skills will be added yet?
what's the new class aside from the whirlwind guy?
Im absolutely hyped, maybe wrongly so. Game feels just so good.
They already patched all the existing items to be much more powerful, and the devotion tree has been rejiggered
I'm busy playing PoE, and GD is way too expensive still. I'll probably get it once all expansions are out and bundled together in some way.
how is new season. i cant tell if its bloated or has just that much content
>more people playing POE than WoW
>ARPGs are "dead"
You couldn't be any more wrong.
neat, so retaliation builds will actually be viable now
bit sad there's only a single class though
It all depends on how you look at it. I long since stopped trying to do ALL the content at once and obsessing over playing super effectively to not lose 1% or sulfite potential or some shit. It's great when you just stick to doing what's fun for you.
both. the new skills are cool but the content is sucked, not to mention the irritating lags from the Betrayal missions.
Yeah, what the fuck is up with the lag associated with betrayal content now? Any word on that?
Path of exile has a pretty huge presence that eclipses it on top of being faster paced and less janky and free. I hate the trade centric drop rates in PoE and my internet is shit so I stick to Grim Dawn.
MMOs are on their last legs, so of course ARPGs are dead. The game you posted is like an MMO with all the awful gameplay associated but nome of the social interaction which makes it fun, unless you play with a friend. Imagine grinding for hours and farming on a single player game lmao
No idea but it's fucking bad since my potato is not good for these types of shit. Especially INTERVENTION.
most fun theorycrafting desu
I cant believe there's still a vacuum in this genre. The first dev to pull off interesting character builds + actually good combat is going to make it big
>he started playing ARPGs with Diablo 3 and path of exile
Its fine for people who still know how to build/join a community without handholding.
Ashes is STILL too fucking expensive
>still gotta finish AoM on my current character
fug. At least act 6 is pretty short.
Looking forward to seeing how Crate will handle making a desert and if those mobility skills are actually useful and not just a meme.
My buddy and I and super hyped for this. I'm going to keep leveling me Purifier when it comes out and then make an Oathkeeper+ something else down the line. I like the Oathkeeper skills but it sucks that whirlwind isn't a viable spender
My PC is fairly good and intervention still nukes my shit into sub-10 FPS zone. There were no issues like this last league.
Nice meme arrows, mate. I "started" with Titan Quest, and by that I mean I player it for a couple of hours and saw how it was basically like being the only one left playing on an MMO server
Everything is 30% off right now on humble bundle, steam keys.
I really wanted to like Grim Dawn but the constant vomit of bright neon effects from all the skills, passives, buffs, and a ton of on-hit effects just makes the game look like a complete mess.
>tfw leveled a Barbarian in Diablo 2 Median XL Sigma all the way up to the end of Hell difficulty but can't beat Baal
I was pretty excited about the mobility skills, but then I found they have like 6 second cooldowns. Might be nice to skip some shit every now and again
>still twice the price of the base game
I rest my case
It's because they didnt release it on the Epic Store :^)
I've been playing Median XL while waiting for the xpac. Truly another hundreds of hour to be wasted.
>can play witcher 3 on max settings without any stutter
>somehow still can't play this game without shit FPS whenever there's anything at all happening or even just in the towns
what kind of awful spaghetti code must they be using
Should've invested in throwbarb.
GD is fun at frist but gets pretty samey early on. I would like to get to the later parts of the game but it feels like a slog getting there
papi
Well for one thing W3 doesn't have gorillions of monster and particles going on on-screen in the game.
>Guess ARPGs really are dead.
Well duh.
They are dated top down games with grinding until there is no tomorrow.
And in the examples of Chaosbane and Inquisitor Martyr they are even that arrogant to put a 60€ and above pricetag for the absolute minimum possible.
I don't want then to take my loading screen! The current loading screen is goat
neither does the starting town in grim dawn but for some reason it's enough to tank my FPS when my computer can handle the crowded streets of novigrad just fine
Oh man, I tried to get into Grim Dawn, but I can't arse myself to fucking play through the game multiple times to reach the endgame. Otherwise very comfy to play with a controller.
w/e illl just drink some belladonna
The same can be said about tons of games though, and people play them. It's just one of those personal choice things, some of us don't mind the repetition considering the payoff is building your character stronger and getting that sweet loot. It's a loot-grinder at it's core, basically Diablo 2 modern edition.
just play druidwarden. guaranteed to steamroll and oneshotting bosses on any fucking level
But it's different everytime, "beating" Grim Dawn once isn't beating the game at all. It's like starting a game on the easy setting with all easy mode options on, beating the game and calling it a day. The higher difficulty levels are where the game really gets exciting for me personally.
advise me on some flashy "can't go wrong" builds
I tire of my current necro/occultist summoner and want something will let me throw flashy skills on motherfuckers and go fast
>same shitty game mechanics with the same amount of inflated damage types
>THE SAME FUCKING SHITTY ITEMS WITH DIFFERENT PRONOUNS
>another pointless class that play just like any other but with different gfx, basically just a palette swap
>hurr how come nobody talks about muh '''''expansion'''''
>hacknslash rpgs must be ded!!1
kys retard
btw it's a hacknslash or loot grinder or click to death rpg
ARPG is something like witcher or dark souls
Crate said GOG wanted to do a store banner for their release so there'll probably be a hefty discount for base game + ashes when they launch. Something to the tune of...I dunno, 14 bucks, if they want to make it come out as a big round $30.
Should I get Diablo 3 now?
nah it's pretty bad
every class plays pretty much the same, with different colored abilities and the abilities themselves are rather boring / passive
also the game has like 16 different damage types and it's basically all about getting high resistance to those to become invincible or die in one hit
also the itemization is crap, often not having suitable items available for what you want to build
The absolute state of braindead zoomerism
from my perspective, the problem with games like poe and gd is that you have these HUUUUUUUUGE ASS skill trees. whole constellations. and still there are builds focused on spamming one skill, and those are the most efficient ones. almost as if everything else is just fluff and you need few select talents to cheese through everything. so yeah... the genre is getting kinda obsolete unless they can devise something else beyond "muh gorillion of talents/skills, such breakthrough, much wow!"
Absolute, under no circumstances, never.
I hate that there isn't a way to join the bad factions.
Purifier fire strike is pretty flashy and hard to fuck it, just dual wield guns and either choose fire or lightning and focus on one
>buy grim dawn on special
>class options are shit
>no good multiplayer with economy
>gear sucks
>story sucks
>uninstalled
Diablo 3 is great mindless fun on the switch while sitting comfy on your couch.
pick your 2 classes, max the stat and skills that give you the most damage and then stack your 2 or 3 damage types that the classes force you into and it's done
it really doesn't matter what you pick, it's all the same anyway
the setting is very bland
the style is ugly as fuck
>and still there are builds focused on spamming one skill, and those are the most efficient ones
In POE yes, Grim Dawn has its fair share of strong builds that actively use multiple skills to kill shit
>>class options are shit
the sad part about it is, that those are not really options but just simple pallet swaps with fancy names
wonder why.
>make ice mage
>do quest at stat of game to kill lizardmen
>they are immune to ice
This game sucks
those cannibals in Malmouth are pretty bad dudes. But yeah it would require a whole different campaigns if you could join the Cthonics to drag the world into the abyss or a campaign to join the Aetherials and enslave the meat to the superior and highly intellectual energyjews of the higher planes.
AS someone who's played since closed beta, the game is WAY too bloated. Also because trading exists and is so easy, its almost impossible (or not worth it) to find shit you actually will use. Support gems have also changed over time to be less of
>use this for more projectiles, which overlap and will do more total damage, or combine pierce and chain to make projectiles get stuck in the middle of a pack and chain around them to clear faster
and more of
>Add one utility support tops, all other support links add more damage
Grimdawn has interesting skills that have modifiers to them that change the way they scale completely and because trading is clunky and you get good drops so you can actually farm for yourself. Its worth trying
I had fun the first 40 hrs a few years back but when I came back to revisit it the magic is gone after realizing how boring most abilities and passives are. I dont even feel like buying the ashes dlc for necro or the new one which finally adds movement skills for everyone to the game, which might make the game more entertaining.
