Favorite Prosthetics!?
SEKIRO DISCUSSION
First for protecting the Young Lord
ive been stuck on lady butterfly for hours, i cant beat the second form
help
Spear for little dudes and firecracker for stunning big dudes. Firecracker is genuinely OP I think, I really enjoy it.
What does losing your left arm mean?! So many cases of it through the game.
Kuro is CUTE! He will be my husband! Protect and serve Kuro!
Just dodge the white things and spam firecracker
When she does her magic spam make sure to just run away to dodge it, also run away when she spawns her shadow soldiers until she dispells them. In short run away until she is doing nothing special then attack.
for me, it's the shuriken dash combo and firecrackers
I just give up. I accept that this game is not for me user. Better that way.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What the fuck is this upgrade that I am missing. I just want to upgrade my firecrackers but im blocked by this fucking upgrade, I have everything else. WHERE IS THIS!?
she spawns the magic all the time though i can almost never get a hit in while dodging them
ill be there in 10
I dont attack at all when she fires her orbs, only after they are all gone.
wat
Theyre all shit because nothing is as effective as just mashing r1 and then hitting l1 when the enemy finally deigns to deflect
>been reading through Lone Wolf
>jump into Sekiro
This really feels like a somewhat loose adaptation.
Is Lone Wolf good?
he's hinting what you're missing. keep playing and you'll get the prostethic, you can't miss it.
Run in circles when she does her illusion tricks. Otherwise it's exactly the same.
>Tfw I want to get into it, but I got spooked by footage of the giant snek
>it's exactly the same.
But it's not, she also fires magic balls alongside her normal attacks making it difficult to get any hits in without getting hit yourself
cute
Depends what you expect going into it.
The art is stellar, but for the most part there is no overarching story, so it mostly boils down to your apreciation of the historical period.
snake parts are shockingly well done
Yeah my first impression was that it’s kind of like Lone Wolf and Cub
Masterpiece
Oh, im pretty far into the game so I thought for sure I missed something. Ive gone past the underground, past the depths, past the mist ghost place and am in the village now. But if its unmissable I wont worry.
What? They're fucking NOTHING alike.
Anyone know how to get to demon of hatred?
you havent gone through sunken valley yet right? that's where the prostethic you're missing is.
Dodge white shit, spam parry
So everyone's talking about butterfly lady, but I can't even access her. There's a locked door in some mansion just beyond the burning village, after that fat dude that wields a murakumo. Where do I get the key?
Does it matter that some NPC ran up after I killed everyone, announced himself, and then wandered off? Did something break?
from owl across the bridge at the end of the bamboo forest.
Holy shit I just started and you are submissive and follow orders of a barefeet loli. Do you save by licking her feet too?
Ooh, I guess I did just miss something like an idiot then. Thanks user.
Of course they aren't.
Doesn't stop me from noticing some similarities.
>her
ok I havnt found that area yet, ill keep playing. Thanks
I think it must have some symbolism in Japanese culture, so many instances across games and other media. Remember in MGR the Doctor specifically wants Raidan to cut off left hands.
Welcome to feudal Japan.
Help me beat seven ashina spears I don't have the reaction time for this shit
The idea of customizing your robo arm is appealing to some and most people are right handed and don't want to lose that one.
I don't get it either.
It's a boy you fucking faggot
Go around the side cliff and backstab him, then just Mikiri counter and parry the follow up and he literally kills himself trying to land thrusts
Berserk Reference.
I goddamned love this game. I suck incredibly hard, but it doesn't often feel cheesy. Most trouble I had so far is butterfly and the one armed shinobi in the area where you start. I avoided the headless after realising you can only damage it with a specific item and his fog preventing you from dodging. Not ready for that shit.
Mist Raven, can't get enough of it, it's barely better than a deflect but 20 times the style points.
Yeah until he decides to sweep and almost one shots me
From hates lefties
>one armed shinobi
I walked away from him too. Wasn't even mad. I realized I was too much of a bitch and just left.
What's the reward anyways? I assume it's significant, given the area it's in.
firecrackers are busted
I really like that the world in connected like in first Dark Souls.
there's blade of the immortal here too
Attack, then parry the counter and dodge the subsequent white orbs. When she jumps, use a shuriken to do a lot of posture damage and make her fall to the ground for a free hit. The shuriken even hints that it does a lot more to enemies "who take to the air".
same place you fight gyoubu
The first time or the second time? The first time he protects raven mist tool and the second time I'm not sure since I haven't beaten him yet. I get him down to his first health bar, but I always die before I get it the second time.
How so?
I rebound the grappling hook to circle and sprint/dodge to L2, are there any moves that would be weird with this control scheme?
No I mean when you progress through the game you'll see many instances of people without left arms. It must have some significance, like says.
>Sneaking around at a rooftop with low health
>Suddenly hear a loud "YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Uh, there's a second time? Wew...
Yeah with an additional health bar. I'm so sorry user..
It's when you re-visit the place where you started
i think you only are doing this cuz you want different fingers in charge for each type of perilous attack. i can't think of anything that's impossible with your new setup.
Does the dragonrot thing only happen if you resurrect?
Is there a walkthrough yet? I find knowing where to go and what to do to be the biggest problem
It happens when you die and respawn at an idol. Resurrecting on the spot doesn't spread it.
At first I didnt really like how the game played, but after getting the combat mechanics down and finding different weapons for my arm its become really enjoyable. I think if you went into this game thinking the combat would be dark souls-ish you might be dissapointed but im loving this fast paced fighting. Learning an enemies moves and experimenting with different weapons and techniques against them/finding out what works is pretty cool.
>finally beat Genichiro after the 20 or so attempts
YEEEE BOI
no
>Uh, there's a second time? Wew...
Wait, now I'm confused. I'm referring to the revisit, just after you meet the black samurai dude who hears a shamisen. Now I think I missed the first time. Where is that?
Wait what? I thought it was the other way around. I have not been resurrecting because I didn't want to spread rot...
Oh yeah, the one you mentioned is the second time. First time is in the past memory close to the bamboo passage teleport or something. Like I said, he protects the raven mist prosthetic
>thinkgen of my lord
Fuck, I'm missing a whole bunch of shit from there apparently. Looks like I'm goin' back. I don't even know where the spear is.
I need to start writing shit down, im meeting so many NPCs that im forgetting where they are.
Am I the only one who thinks Wolf looks a bit like asian Clint Eastwood from certain angles/lighting?
I beat up a cow, started exploring and now I'm in some place called mibo village and everything is awful and killing me
help
>thinkgen of the iron code
how long is the game? no one actually gives a concrete, solid answer for this question every time I ask it.
What's the secret for the horse dude? I almost get him each time but I feel like it's through sheer luck rather than actually knowing what I'm doing.
Depends on how much time you take exploring or if you clear areas completely/die a lot and have to redo
after genichro should i go sunken valley or temple
I've been hearing 20-35 or so. Obviously more or less depending on your playstyle/how much you suck.
Just beat the shinobi hunter, daym mikiri counter is awesome.
Also is it worth investing in the "vault over" skill? shit might be usefull
I'm stuck at this mother fucker too. Absolute bullshit mini boss. I seriously hate spear mobs.
Instead of fighting him head on circle around him while running, Deflect his attacks instead of dodging, use fireworks. When I first went against him I tried dodging but his sweeping attacks are hard to dodge, holding down the run button and moving away is a lot easier than the actual dodge button.
FUCKKKK
10 hours of gameplay, 30 hours of dialogue
It doesn't seem like it since they have to be KO'd first, right? You have iframes doing that so it seems useless.
Vault over just lets you get a backstab deathblow instead of a normal deathblow. later on you get a skill that you can only use on enemies that you backstab deathblow. I pretty much never use it though
That looks exactly like a bug that happens in Bloodborne with viscerals. It has screwed me over in PvP countless times.
tfw had to turn off shadowplay stuff to get controller working so no clips
any replay value or is it just a finish and forget sort of deal?
Wait you can deflect his attacks? Against normal spear dudes deflect doesn't work.
I'm 20 hours in, 3 main boss and about 18 miniboss
How long is this game and how many DIFFERENT areas are in it?
impossibru
You can deflect spears. Your timing is off, its just really hard.
I FUCKING LOVE MIKIRI COUNTER, also for those who ignore it, kick attacks count as thrust
I wish Sekiro had gestures so I could give this fucker the point down
where's this guy hidden?
>YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>not
>EUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUWAAAAAAAAAARRRH
>WOOOOOOOOOoooooooAHHHHHHHH
Still the most autistic battle cry I have heard in vidya.
Where do you get the firecrackers? I’ve got the axe, flame vent and shuriken, which I love because it oneshots dogs.
You can deflect spear thrusts but its harder, you might just want to regular dodge those. But if you stay behind him it shouldnt be a problem. What I meant is deflect is wide sweeping attacks which are really hard to dodge.
jump in the water after the shinobi hunter
No, he normal blocked the first hit and Mikiri'd the thrust
Also fuck that bug, but I can guess why it happens, since paired animations in Havok will move actors to their appropriate points and if one of them is uneven, bad things can happen like falling through the ground
I hope we get DLC. This game is too good. It can't be left just like that. A shinobi is a shinobi, even in a dream.
I can't do it lads
I swear to god the more ashy he gets the more he starts to look like Wojak. Especially with that expression he have on all the time.
Why are there so many japanese games where you have a prosthetic arm?
You can buy them from the first merchant. Before the wall with the cannon guy on top there is a cliff you can get to by grappling some branches. Merchant is on top
I see, thanks for the tips!
What happened to black samurai Tirone-dono after i told him to go to the abandoned dungeon?
i hope he's okay
Is there NG+?
What's the deal with some of the Treasure Carp staying deep underwater and never coming up to surface? Do I need to throw something in the water to act like bait? Or is there a dive ability unlocked later in the game?
I expect it will, and it will be even more buttblastingly difficult since it'll be tuned towards people who finished the game
youtube.com
here's the cheese
On top of the hill around the crazy old woman's house. You should see a bunch of crows and a tent on top of it. The dude in the tent sells you it.
why are the minibosses harder than actual bosses? I cant kill these gun bitches not even 1st orb.
I forgot to press RB to finish him so he gained back a little bit of posture. Can't believe I missed that 2 fucking times. Still killed him though
Because prosthetic arms are cool.
thanks man. i was wondering if they did
It frustrates me so when I get very close to defeating the boss first try and then following tries I don't even get close thinking myself an even greater shitter
Shit game.
>first real death happened because I fell through a branch after grappling to it
Simply epic From
Apparently there’s a dive ability
Spear is a fucking monster against Wolf. Specifically the spiral. It and the firecrackers are definitely my favorite. I really wish the fire Spear upgrades charge attack was pierced and had the same effect as the spiral
I fucking hate this guy, his posture regain is so ridiculously fast.
Do normal r1 attacks but instead of dodging or deflecting do a jump kick every time they attack you, she will almost never hit you. Alternatively just try jump kicking them constantly, you can pretty much stunlock them and when they try to grapple you it will do massive posture damage
>O'rin of the Water
Bitch shreds your health with a single attack and posture build-up is nigh impossible
That's good balance though it makes it challenging.
I miss him, sucks they stay dead.
jesus christ the rifle spear dudes at the bottom of the depths
If anyone has trouble beating the mini boss in that area i suggest you use the stealth sugar to do a back stab on him and then go to the statue thats to the left of the cave( near the shrine) and wait for him to die of poison. It takes a while but its pretty simple
That's why you have to do the sneak attack on him first before initiating the fight.
unless they're near death you absolutely cannot stop attacking or back off a miniboss or they regain full posture
you fucking pussy
a severed left hand means divorce will come to you or a brother will die in islamic culture
if you shuriken her when she's hopping on the threads in the air she falls down on her ass, beat her third try using that
or you know being smart
Sabimaru is broken as fuck
>get my shit pushed in by butterfly for 3 hours
>get determined
>no more pussy shit
>no more spacing, no more waiting around
>attack, parry, and shuriken nonstop
>2nd phase stance meter turns orange
>oh god this is it
>summons illusion
>fuckfuckfuckfuck
>down to what looks like 1 hp, no more estus, already used resurrection
>see the red highlight
>takedown
>greatest feeling of relief I've ever had
>something's weird though
>the red dot in the corner is grey now, not just gone
>no victory message
>only have a second to realize how weird it is before I get ganked by illusion man
>confused as fuck
>only find out later that it requires TWO FUCKING TAKEDOWNS to finish it off
Fuck this game. Fuck this game hard.
Falling off cliff will only damage you a fair bit. Having enough health and you will teleport back up.
Got to the Gun Fort shrine and it seems to be a dead end. Is it?
Why is this one fish in the Bamboo Thicket Slope fucking impossible to kill? The other one in this part of the river was easy peasy to kill, but this one? It can't fucking be done.
It swims ridiculously deep, and if you don't lock onto it you'd almost never know it's even there, and it looks like it only ever rises close to the surface about once in its entire cycle across the entire river section, but even when it does it's still quite deep and I just can't hit it no matter what I do.
Fuck this fish. I've spent like two hours trying to get it. What a waste of time, I should have just given up ages ago.
None of the other fish posed any kind of trouble like this, but this one is fucking impossible to kill. How sadistic.
Where does one farm divine confetti which is totally not transient curse?
watched this and beat her on first try afterwards lol
i must be retarded
>been practicing for half an hour with the undying guy
>noticeable increase in skill
Having someone to practice with is a blessing, especially since there is no consequence and bad timing doesn't mean death.
lmao
You don't, for now you're reliant on the ones you find.
You can buy it later
When you find all the dragon mask pieces
How do I kill myself and save the young lord instead of killing him?
Also can I say how useless the fucking grappling hook mechanic is?
>can only grapple to certain areas
>means jack shit for exploration
>might as well have climable ledges and bridges instead of trees
>can't get out of the railroad
Why is the option even in the game? It literally adds nothing except for visuals.
Can't be better than ravenmist
I just beat him ()
He protects a new area with what looks to be another 'demon' boss that you need an item for to hurt. Not going to bother with that just yet.
You can cheese him jumping in water and he fall down and dies insta
boi you are in for a good times later on kek
Bad game
What do you even use them on?
How to kill ape
her illusions are a big meme, just run around
2nd phase is actually not that different than 1st phase, just be careful of the butterfly missiles and you're gucci
It becomes a combat tool when you learn the skill for it and it's invaluable for getting out of dodge when you fuck up your sneakybeaky maneuvers
Is the Mortal Blade combat art any good?
Looks cool but it uses some spirit paper
Throw in ash or ceramic, then immediately jump in as there is no special animation that you need to wait for
Apparition type enemies who take very little damage otherwise
There's also a similar one only lock-on able in the pond behind Ashina castle
an excuse to stuff as many gameplay mechanics as possible
you gotta kill the 2nd ape
After the first moments of adaptation and frustration i gotta admit the game is really fucking enjoyable, every ennemy is a threat and defeating teh minibosses and bosses is super fucking rewarding
ACKCHUALLLY
You can farm Confettis in Ashina Castle Antechamber, kill the 7 or so blue-robed samurais walking around
Bonus if you ring the bell demon before this to up drop rate
I just unlocked the ability to dive. So I assume thats how you get em.
And... that's a bad thing?
how do I use the Buttefly kunai to upgrade my shit? Do I really need to go up the prosthetic upgrade tree before getting the option? I spent 3000 gold on that. 3000 gold that I would have lost to deaths an hour later, but still.
>Spend two hours on the Drunkard
>Kill Gyoubu Oniwa first try
H O W
Don't post my cute daughter Ebrietas without my permission, thank you.
i want to hug this painting
Throw ash or ceramic into the water as bait, they swim up
the samurais in blue robes at the top of Ashina castle
Here are a couple of tips for my fellow DeS/DaS players:
1. Unlike in Souls games, where your stamina recovers faster when you drop your guard, Sekiro's posture bar restores faster when you keep your guard UP.
2. Resist the urge to pull the thumbstick in a direction while using your jump-dodge. Jumping to the side or backwards is okay, and feels natural coming from Souls, but the only way you can trigger a jump-counterattack is by jump-dodging in place.
3. Actually pay attention to your opponent's weapon. This game made me realize that I managed through all the Souls games without ever really focusing hard on the opponent's attacks. I'd pay attention to them as a whole, yes, but not their weapon. The game revolved around one simple if-then statement: "if Boss animates, then Roll or Block". In Sekiro, it really pays to observe what kind of strike is coming your way, since sweeps, thrusts, and grabs are all countered in different ways. Try to erase that old DeS/DaS if-then statement when it comes to reading your opponents.
Not necessarily, it's more of a hitbox issue, like you can stealth between them and do a charge attack smetimes it hits sometimes it doesn't
The poison sword prostethic is the cheesiest thing in the game
Where's the fucking store in this fucking asshole of a game? I swear I have literally thousands and thousands of sen and nothing to spend it it.
the dildo salesman near the horse boss doesn't count.
I was actually expecting some dumb kite ninja shit while climbing those roofs but I had no idea that's where he came bombing down from, holy guacamole.
>divine confetti
what is this item for?
you missed at least two, try not being retarded
killing ghosts and dark magic users
ice cream
should I waste my time on butterfly? is she just an option? fuck that double boss shit from loves so much
before the red-eye ogre there's a guy with an eye patch, the same one from the Hirata Estate that you find fucking around
pay him money for info and he'll open up a shop
before him, up on a hill near the bell lady is another dildo salesmen
>Saleman Near horse boss
Kek, your not far enough yet. Once you get to later merchants and start upgrading your arm you will want more money.
If you mean dive, it's on the way to the Wedding Ceremony area, kill the spirit version of corrupted monk boss. Seems like a mandatory boss/area so you will come across it later. Also this item was a Prayer Bead.
There's a guy selling a prosthetics and what looks like skills in the cemetary outside Ashin castle.
There's also a ds3 style vendor that you talk to and he shows up in the shrine, but I cant remember where I found him
Do you get punished with dragon rot if you don't revive or does just dying count for it too?
IS THIS GAME WORTH FULL PRICE Y/N?
Ashina castle complex, at the lower roofs before you get to the smoke-signal KAMIKAZE NINJA rooftops
He's tucked away in a neat corner you have to see from above
Dying in general.
Former thief? In memory > then in Asahina before Ogre
To be fair Gyoubu really is easier than Drunkard. Got a lot of openings, attacks are slow as fuck, and can be stunned easily with the shit you bought on the first level.
>enemies don't mind corpses
>pure hit'n'run gameplay
>easy as fuck
>every enemy can be cheesed
I can't believe this game is made by froms.
Death = Dragon Rot.
Resurrecting = You don't see the Death screen.
Therefore, always Resurrect when you can.
>enemies don't mind corpses
Already wrong from point 1.
it's some sort of fan
what that next to the first axe upgrade? and where to get it
>Raging Bull raped my anus
>Ape is raping my anus
I hate beast boss so fucking much.
Ah neat. I found eyepatch guy before but he just sold me info of stuff I found hours ago like the fire and axe arms so left him alone
Thanks. I just got the top of the castle and I need to spend this money before dying 10 times to those blue robe shitters.
So.. Should I do Granny before Genichiro? He's kicking my ass pretty hard
This Ape guardian is pounding me into Gorilla biscuits , please send help.
crackers maddafakka
Guys imagine being retarded and skipping Ashina Castle and going to Abandoned Dungeon instead? No one can be that retarded right?
right
Where is the flower? I got the mortal blade and stone already
Just wanted to be a cave explorer, man.
No, fuck you for progressing that far in the game already, neet
Greetings from the other dimension, how'd you?
currently fighting the ape, fuck his terror bullshit
>he doesn't use Lil' Robert
How do you fight the terror mini bosses? The buff item doesn't help much.
All me senpai
>bait
absolutely not
I love Emma
wierd granma asked me for rice of the golden kid, where do i find it?
She's the only one I make sure to fully listen to. Love Ito Shizuka.
>two guys standing facing eachother
>stand on roof
>throw 3 shurikens and kill one of them
>the other one just stands there just staring straight ahead despite his friend dying 3 feet away from his face
The AI in this isn't really the best, it's actually pretty stupid.
Can someone help me to locate the prosthetic I'm missing? I think I'm supposed to have now, but I'm not sure. Only beaten the folded monkeys at this point.
>Ape 2nd phase
Wasn't expecting that. I can barely make it through the first. What do I do?
How to keep the kite at the distance?
the axe so I can shit on shield faggots
Where do you get the thing next to the axe?
Its very easy to run out of though. I bought the Purple Gourd since Terror is the only super annoying status effect
You get something for that later
Teleport to the old grave statue in Ashina Castle. A few steps from the statue if you look down there will be a house with a hole in the roof. Jump into the hole and the merchant will be in the house. Also the fan isnt really good, you can hold down the button to put it over your head, blocking bullets and shit. Or press the button for a deflect that has a much wider windows than the normal deflect. Of course every time you use it, one of your talismans gets used up.
In the memories, behind some bamboo near the water.
How do I cure Dragonrot? If sculptor dies how the fuck do I upgrade or make new prostates?
It's actually easier. Just neck-fuck him and parry his combo into the vertical slice and run away from his reee'ing.
The spear is in the castle IIRC
They literally don't react to bodies
if you kill a guy and run away + wait for them to deaggro and return to their patrol, or kill a guy in the path of other enemies' patrol paths, they won't react to it even when they walk over it
I really wish they had better stealth mechanics like knocking on walls to misdirect enemies in this game instead of pretty much being the same as a Bethesda game. I can think of so many times where being able to knock on a wall to attract foes would have been really handy
...
>give / keep sakura droplet
WHICH ONE LADS HELP
Talk to Emma
Purple fag defending it up the waterfall
Explain
Not the spear. That thing that's right of the first axe upgrade.
I used cheat engine to get past the Ape
How do you guys define react? I tried it at the start of the game and the moment he saw a dead body he went into alert mode.
I'm never claimed the AI is good, but they do react to bodies.
Shame on you, user. Delete that savefile and start over right now.
>dying
ohnonno
is cure one time thing they can get sick again?
also NPCs can die? what the hell FROM!
Which Guardian Ape
Don't do it again user
How do you even fight horse guy
Thats the feather. You can find it in Hirado Estate at the Bamboo thicket area, go to the end where the bridge is then jump of to the right. Grapple some shit and it will lead you up a path to find it.
>give droplet
>LMAO 3 REZZ
ebin
>unsheathes katana
Heh, nothing personal kid.
get firecracekrs, scare horse, graple, kill
It's too hard for me bros, i rather fight 2 Lightning Chad then that fucking monkey
If you go to the depths before sunken valley the headless ape doesnt even spawn.
Should I care about dragonrot? I'm pretty bad at vidya, so I feel like someone is always gonna have it
how do i find the first headless in ashina outskirts?
wait people had trouble with the bull? I stopped at him last night because I was tired and figured I'd try him in the morning and I beat him first try only using 2 sippy
is Yea Forums that bad at video games?
So when does the game get hard? I've breezed through every miniboss, lady butterfly and everything else so far. I got that thunderfag on my first fucking try.
I mean, Ni-Oh got hard right away. Those fucking dual blade Yokai pushed my shit in four times in a row.
>get firecracekrs
Thought so after listening guy
Where?
The only thing you might want to watch out for is some NPC's wont give you there normal quest dialogue if they are rotted. So you have to heal them, talk to them for quest shit, then you can let them rot again.
after ogre turn right, go down the mountain, there is a notice about headless. and a cave
>stepdodge left
HEH
NUFFIN PERSONNEL BITCHNIGGA
So what do we do with the mask pieces? Also should I fight the lady with the music instrument inside the fish village or leave her be? I already killed the Corrupted Monk. Probably the worst boss fight in the game so far.
getting my shit pushed in by the acid swordguy, is there a trick to dealing with a bunch of fuckers at once? Everytime i get hit by some rando in the background the whole squad goes apeshit and stunlocks me to death and back.
Really enjoying the game so far, wish the ledge grabbing and grapple sensitivity wasn't so clunky though
it's easy with firecrackers, it startles all beasts
sometimes it got bullshit timing on dodge though
the stealth mechanics are probably remnants of when they were going to make tenchu but then they decided to make soulsborne game again.
>get up to the drunk in the burning estate memory
>throw shuriken at his pal
>that pal runs to me to die
>repeat until only shield fucks are left
stealth!
Where the fuck do I get more confetti? I still can't fucking beat the damn headless piece of shit because terror is such a balanced fucking mechanic and the buff from confetti last for like 30 seconds.
first area, get searching
Seriously I have no idea where to go after getting the mortal blade and stone thingy, I figured I need to use the kite to get across but how?
Yeah as soon as I started dodging and not trying to deflect he was dead.
as with most Fromsoft games the hardest enemies are Camera-san, Any Wall-sama and Lock-On System Randomly Breaking-kun
abandoned dungeon or something
remember first miniboss? there is a hill left of him, and a dude merchant up top it
For the mask when you collect all 3 it gives you an item that lets you change 5 skill points into 1 attack power upgrade Of course by the time you get this the game is pretty much over so its not worth investing in. Unless you are going to play NG+
I found it easier to just parry
he gets ton of unstability from parries
Is this game some kind of dark souls shit?
How do I upgrade prosthetics with gunpowder? The sculptor has no such option.
I used the firecrackers once, Sekiro runs way too fast to ever get hit by anything the bull does though
Yeah they're dumb as rocks, even Souls enemies will usually chain aggro if you upset one due to reacting to the sound of your arrow/knife hitting them
It's like they took out the 'react to noises' portion of their usual AI code.
Saw a guy commenting on how his horse died after getting startled by gunfire, and not much long after there's a knight mini-boss, I'm assumed I should be using some sort of gunpowder prosthetic to fight it, but where do I find it?
kill horse guy
>Sekiro's posture bar restores faster when you keep your guard UP.
What the fuck
The blue samurai in the castle drop that item, might be a rare drop. Use the item that increases chance.
Imagine Dark Souls but with Bethesda-tier stealth mechanics and virtually all of the RPG trappings stripped out
So i just killed the snake who you stab in the eye after he breaks the bridge you try to run over
i fucked up and fell off of where the game placed me after the cutscene played out, is there any important items i fucked up on getting or can i get back up there?
i tried climbing back up but the two branches below the side i need to get up dont come anywhere close enough to making it, unless i am missing something.
What the fuck is the point of that path to sunken valley from mt kongo? There's nowhere to safely land
Where do I go? I've gone literally everywhere and I can't the last ingredient
Holy shit
The only merchant I know was before ogre and he didn't sell anything
First mini boss is the one who was after 3 dogs?
Also Hirata has some secret wall doors, if someone didn't knew yet, you hug wall and get into room with chest
Nah it's more like Simon Says. Rhythm Heaven but without the good music.
what is the recipe for butterfly second phase?
Dont worry about it, its to kill the snake later
>Didn't get the double ressurection item
Best restart the game or check out the offering box.
Same as the first. Hit her until she kicks you and then deflect it.
Use your puppet ninjutsu on the enemy next to the kite crank
yea, after 3 dogs
hmm, I found one right before butterfly, there is more?
I haven't even played the game yet but isn't there a firecracker ability in the game? That sounds like it would make sense to use.
Fucking bullshit puzzles
Nah bro, in dark souls you can spam I-frame dodge roll in any direction and never get hit. In this game that shit wont fly, you dodge into a sweeping attack you are going to get hit by that shit.
If you want bosses to stop regaining posture like crazy start dodging and then attack to whittle their vitality down until their posture bar has a red outline
if you keep attacking her she never spawns the illusions
Parry the hell out of her flurry attack and then do the jump-counter at the end. She likes using it a lot so you'll eventually break her posture and kill her without even having damaged her.
Bloodborne was all about dodging and never blocking.
Suckiro is all about blocking and never dodging.
Ni-Oh forces you to do both in order to progress the game.
Souls lets you do either to progress the game.
thanks, beat it
what does ringing the demon bell do?
I found that being aggressive in the second phase works a charm. Parry everything but the unblockables. Jump at those. When he raises his head, jump back.
so i just missed one of those dolls that give you ressurection mid fight?
That illusion monkey fight was underwhelming. Its nice that they included a puzzle boss but the puzzle part of it is useless if you can just outrun them.
I have the choice to lure Kumano to the abandoned dungeon, should I do it?
>Suckiro is all about blocking and never dodging.
Except for when you get a .2 second warning for a grab you're supposed to, but can't dodge.
>cut enemy groups down by about 30%
>introduce actual stealth mechanics and proper stealth AI
game is better 100%
Git gud
Just got to the part where Ashina castle changes and all the purple fags show up. How far am I? Also, fuck headless ogres. The only fuckers I can’t beat so far.
This is only partly related to Sekiro but is from software one of the most underrated studios in terms of animations?
Ive only seen people meme about the "impact" of the heavier weapons in souls sometimes but if anything id say they really excel at animating giant monsters
Even full blown hack and slash games like DMC5 have far worse animations for the monsters and bosses. And I mean in that game its understandable for the player to be cancelling things constantly but since the bosses and enemies dont, why shouldnt each attack feel like a truck? In Sekiro its legitimately scary to fight something as basic as the giant hammer guy in the first village
what do you even need the dry and fresh "fruit" for
I assume you mean here but, how do I even get there?
The *unsheathes* skill in the Ashina tree is complete shit compared to the one in Bloodborne, what the FUCK were FROM thinking
Why the fuck is this game so easy? You can deathblow literally everybody with barely getting behind them. Enemies don't pursue you at all. The only time I died was on the Drunkard. I haven't even used the prosthetics since there's no need for this at all.
It literally feels like some Nioh + Ass.Creed, but on easy mode.
I even started to think this game was actually developed by Activision and not by froms.
Just tank it.
Remind me where it is. I know it's in the temple area somewhere but I forgot where.
>get across
>still can't progress because it's just a dead end
???
>Grab ledge
>Character magnetizes himself and uses Leia's tractor beam to proeject his hand onto the ledge
Assassin's Creed looks ten times better than this crap.
look a bit to the right and down, there is a grab ledge
it's this fan, you find it past the snake shrine
Use you’re eyes and look around ffs
Move your camera a bit lower and to the right.
Any tips against the Ape boss? Legit the hardest thing for me so far.
What's that umbrella? I think I missed it.
cheers
>Enemies don't pursue you at all
Miyazaki's game
Same shit worked same in das, bloodborne and das3, this is why running past everything was better than fighting every time compared to des and das2
Sekiro at least has stealth
I did and there is literally nothing I can do there besides fall and take damage
Is there anywhere you can farm/buy divine confetti? I'm out and used all 9
There is a tree to grapple to way down
In first phase stay close and just keep swinging. He staggers easy. Second phase stay far away and pick your hits wisely. Also, bring flame tool. I swear, the fire prosthetic is amazing. Have used it on every boss so far and it helps a lot.
did you fight actual bosses yet?
>Beat drunk before ogre
>They took all the fun out of the ogre fight by giving it an instakill grab with a bad hitbox
The only tree is behind the bridge and I can't grapple to it because then the game does the falling thing.
>Cemetery
Where
He's right though. Enemy animations are very well done.
youre actually retarded if you think animation quality has anything to do with responsiveness
the player character isnt an animated walking setpiece that you barely control like in assassins creed
the individual animations themselves are way ahead of the mocap "realism" meme that permeates your ubishit
Actually fuck that.
>teleports behind you
Need to farm not-transient curse
How THE FUCK do I beat headless faggots? Beat O’rin of the Water, all the other mini bosses and main ones including rape ape, but these headless faggots I just can’t get down
throw ninja stars at her when she's jumping around in the air
So, how exactly do I open up the door at the end of the Hinata Estate? Dude made a big fuss about illusions and whatnot and now I can't open that shit, I don't have to use the seeds he gave me do I? Doesn't make a lot of sense if I do.
The giant snek is so unbelievably cute you'll feel real bad for killing him/her, even though its section is crap.
Can you be more specific.
So, why Lady Butterfly became evil?
Anyone else finish the undying training dummy’s quest yet? I legit teared up. Fucking awesome NPCs in this game.
I'm at the temple, farming these bald fags. What is better, the skill that restores life after a deathblow or the final shinobi attack?
Fuck this guy. Seriously.
>everyone using a spear look phenomenal
>can never use the spear yourself
You unlock a spear prosthetic later.
Life after deathblow is so fucking good it’s unreal.
With the bridge going down to the valley, go right instead of going to the bridge for the idol.
Then you descend of one of the big houses has a hole in the roof where the vendor
Fuck, this game is just as hard as it is addicting. Also, feels good to have learned Japanese. I'm in full immersion mode with moon voices and text
This. I can't speak for the final shinobi attack, but from what I've got so far the health restoration has the most noticeable change in gameplay by far
I killed patches in the memories because I thought the doors behind him would open. I know I'm retarded.
Did I lose some missables like arms?
>Constantly getting dunked on by spearweilding niggas
I cannot get their fucking patterns down.
You must be quite the fighter to make it past my cow
I want to fuck Japanese Big Boss!
considering that you do deathblows at least once per fight and all trash is killed with deathblows, it's WAY too good for what it is. No more popping PEELZ when you start running low, just find the next basic mook to shit on
PFFFT hell no. Regular enemies are so fucking pathetic in this game, how are you taking damage in the first place?
Okey I don't know if it's because something is wrong with my pc or what but I keep having this problem where I'm playing at 60fps all good and then suddenly the game starts to move at like 20fps and even if I lower the settings to minimum it just keeps going until it goes back to normal without explanation. Does someone knows what's going on?
Yes, he sells lady butterfly kunai upgrade for shuriken, also he isn't patches
What the fuck is up with Wolf's proportions? His arms are super long
You know the rules
Where so I go after killing the ogre? I'm kinda lost
I'm stuck, not because I don't know where to go, I'm just bad at the game.
So what's the deal with sake? Is it a limited way to get more lore depending on who you give it to?
>suddenly giant eastern design dragon welding giant sword
> deflecting giant swings and welding the power of lightning
Fuck this game is so cool and Kusabimaru is broken
Goddamnit all. Next time I won't ever touch an NPC unless they are giving me heavy Lautrec vibes.
I just beat lady butterfly and the chained ogre. Do I restart now? Or wait the next playthrough to 100% the game? I will probably miss other shit because of the dragonrot anyways.
Should I not go to hirata estate early? Or is going there right when you get the bell reasonable?
there's a general miniboss in the area behind him and then drop down behind that guy too to meet the snek.
>tfw had no idea there even was an area behind the castle
REEEEEEE
just finish the game and play ng+
Makes the game harder..
>makes the game harder
Jesus
You can kill next boss and went to caves to run from snake
But I personally recommend to memories first, zone is awesome and drops a lot of exp and gold compared to castle, while not being harder at all
Is ng+ harder or just the same with everything you had already unlocked?
what kind of question is that
Guys, where the fuck can i find the second sword upgrade? Sabimaru?
i sent the SAM U RAI to the underground dungeon
how bad did i fuck up by doing that
This, it's one of the training things that gets added later, and it is the intended strategy.
>while not being harder at all
Drunkard + butterfly took me like 3 hours total lol
Killed the guy on horse on 2nd try it was the easiest boss in the game so far, easier than minibosses
It's in the area on the way to black samurai
SHINOBI EXECUTION
stands back up wielding its head and a sword
This is the best game
How do you even beat this fucking guardian ape aaaaaaaa
>mfw only once get him to 2nd phase
>Every boss has another form
>Some have two
No. It's just tedious and annoying. When every boss is Fume Knight, there's nothing special about Fume Knight.
you aren't save scumming are?
Fights with elite mobs look really shit for me.
Some attacks do too much posture damage. Blocking and trying to deflect punishes me inconsistently. If i try to start a scrappy fight i usually just get out traded and loose anyway. Instead i run/jump from most attacks now and try to only deflect few with a hit after, so i can run from other attacks again. Its like ds attack baiting but even worse, because it makes gameplay look like crap.
Any tips for the 7 spear ashina dude in the tutorial area? Obviously mikiri the thrust but every other attack he has has huge range and damage so if I miss the deflect it’s over. Is there a good prosthetic tool for him?
Who here really hates the Dragon Rot mechanic? I feel like it makes the game more tedious and stressful than it needs to be for a fresh player.
I could see it making sense for NG+ but on NG it just makes people paranoid for nothing.
Go there to get the tools you can get. Basically get all the way to the boss. That’s when I ducked out and went back to take on the ogre and proceed through the first area
>Find 2 soldiers guarding a dead end
>There's a conspicuous framed painting on the wall
>This looks like one of those secret doors from one of my japanese video games
>Try and hug the wall
>It actually was a secret
What's the use for the vault over skill? Is there any practical use for it? Are there going to be enemies later that I can't do a death blow on but have their posture broken that I will be able to vault over?
where do i get fire cracker so i can cheese horseman?
Go aggressive. Parry that fucker. 2nd phase is ez.
Right now I'm stuck on the 2nd ape that spawns the add.Any tips?
I only used the firecracker lmao
>stealth 1st bar
>firecracker+stab to get him to around 60% health so he doesn't regen posture as fast
>aggressive 2 hit in> parry > 2 hit in
>at the end of his combo if you parry it he'll do a stab, which is EZ MUKIRI
It's a complete non-issue, you just get the first rot really quick as a warning from the game. I haven't gotten any rot since and I'm swimming in items that cure it.
>boss that large can be parried
what the fuck
2nd phase the odachi is parriable or do the arm shitflinging in the 1st phase parriable too?
Is there a not-bonfire close to Kenichiro on Ashina Castle?
Fireworks have been pretty broken for me so far. I did:
>backstab
>run around like a pussy
>he attacks while I'm a million miles away and shows an opening
>heavy attack
>fireworks
>circle around behind him
>two light attacks
>run around again and repeat
If you think you have enough fireworks left to stunlock him to death, go for it. Basically how I'm beating most humanoid minibosses right now.
Oh firecracker works? I thought it only fucked up beasts. Thanks dude hope I can fuck him now my biggest problem was keeping the posture from draining since I could never get health down much.
Yeah, his arms are parriable on 1st phase.
You literally has samurai helping you with drunkard, and even without him fight is easy, guy full of openings. Lady Butterfly is nightmare
Horse guy and ogre were much harder, at least for me
Ogre hit boxes are shit, and even now I don't see opening on horse guy, even with firecrackers, lady butterfly at least was fully fair
Check the rooftops around the second shrine in the first area where the dogs are.
gee wow thanks for making the button prompts in your action rhythm game CHINESE from software
>Blazing bull
I wouldn't even be mad if the lock on wasn't absolute shit, I'm used to garbage bosses but holy shit the one who greenlit this thing should commit seppuku.
On seconds phase, parry all the sword swipes but jump the unblockable ones. You can stun him briefly by parrying the last hit of his combo. The attack where he stands up. And 99% time after the stun he will do his terror roar.
Beat him first try got hit once
Stay locked on and run everywhere
Run around it
Run run run until you see an opening and attack a few times
Then run some more
I hate this fight too. Bring in firecrackers. Do not just spam them. When he gets fucked up by them attack then back off for awhile doing some single swings THEN do firecrackers again. If you do it right after they won’t mess with him and you’ll have wasted a use. Eventually you’ll have hit him enough to make him stagger too. Good luck
Where do I farm divine confetti? I'm all out and Corrupted Monk is raping me
This game doesn't get hard if you're already on top of abusing the AI.
How do I beat shield guys? Do I really have to go back to the sculptor to get the ax equipped?
So how do I get the merchant to move to the shrine? Do they ever?
Do dragobrot people die after awhile or is it directly only for the unseen aid percentage? I have the one item the girl gives you and then I saw one for sale at a crow shop. Don’t want to use my one up just to get a percentage back just yet.
I thought the monkey boss was gonna be bullshit but it was actually fun as fuck
If you want to beat them without a problem then yes
Yeah, you can one shot them with the axe
Where do i find Isshin Ashina after defeating Genichiro? The lady told me to go to Ashina Castle Gate, but I don't see where to go. Am I retarded?
What the fuck, really? Then why am I even playing it?
Yeah one pops up after you kill a certain boss
>TERROR
>Because FRENZY didn't fuck you into the dirt hard enough
MIYAZAKIIIIIII what a nice and balanced status effect. This game is fucking great though.
Nioh was baby shit
Shitter
The mother that gave me the bell and her son died. I hadn't talked to them since contracting Dragonrot and killing Lady Butterfly. Did she die because I died too much or because I finished the Lady Butterfly memory?
You're retarded. Go out the window mentioned by Kuro, there's a pink smoke thing. Look for other rooftops directly in front of you bearing said smokes
why do you have to hold square to loot enemies? seems like a weird concept
>Dodge in the exact moment Genichiro does his retarded thrust attack
>He hits me anyway
ok this is epic
man stealth really breaks the game. just hide, pull, kill. if you end up pulling 3 just jump away and they reset 10 seconds later.
>and her son died
ROTTE'D
If Japanese clothing is anything to go by, they have longer arms than do western people.
Cool falseflag.
Nioh is the easiest soulslike, Sekiro is the hardest (on par with Hollow Knight).
Where do I go to get the mortal blade lads?
So you can look cool?
I guess so you can stealth kill and mash out quickly while keeping whatever drops. A hold to suck button is strange
Fug. What does the son do if he stays alive?
I feel it should be automatic but it isn’t too bad.
Now stopping the game and putting a window in my face when I pick up ashes or ceramics? That needs to fuck off.
I've done that but Isshin isn't there.
I just jumped to the water and came back up to backstab him
I can only assume you played neither, which is typical for Yea Forums honestly.
In Ni-Oh you can't just parry everything to death. That's a skill you unlock and once you do the game gets easy, like Sekiro.
Did you cure the rot? I believe they both die if you take a sample from her and the cure it.
Should I be worrying about death count? This is like IWBTG for me.
nioh is easy because you get way more options to cheese
I'll admit I only enjoyed it because of that and I never played souls but for other reasons so I don't know about people saying nioh has less i-frames
She is an almost optional boss.
Dont fight her first.
Kill the Horseman and a bunch of other bosses to upgrade health and attack.
The game lets you know if you're dying too much.
Yeah. I did that too. Guess that must be it.
Wrong side of the estate maybe
Hint: there's a well-lit open balcony under the pinksmoke roof
Do boss fights maintain or improve on the quality of this one? Because I wasn't really feeling this game at all until I got to this boss. The stealth is shit and the mini-bosses have been so-so. But man, this fight was really fun, all the mechanics just started to come together for me. I was doing great multi-parries and jumping over sweeps with punishes and all sorts of shit.
If the game has a lot more stuff of this quality then I think I can excuse the shitty stealth. The game also obviously gets more fun as I'm unlocking more skills. I honestly think NG+ will be when the real game begins.
Well, of course. But if you're cheesing the game you're only ruining it for yourself. Might as well be watching someone play it on twitch in that case.
post more memes
I need more sekiro memes
where's the strong dude near the bamboo slope in Hirata Estate everyone was talking about the other day? I'm tired of fighting Lad Bumbumfly and figure I would explore for a while instead but I can't find this guy.
How do I get to mibo village or whatever? This game feels so much larger than any previous From game and there are paths fucking everywhere.
Also fuck Guardian Ape, dude is wrecking me.
Bravo Memezaki, truly a plot that you haven't delved into before.
It's like Germans making Gothic 2 over and over again at this point.
All bosses, including that one, boils down to spamming R1, using L1 to block their predictable counter and tanking everything else with your ten billion gourds, extra lives and pellets.
Can anybody confirm whether dragon rot affects the ending(s) or not, without spoilers? I'm waiting for my copy to arrive but I'm already stressed at the idea of not getting the true ending because I'm a shitter.
Go to bamboo idol, jump into water swim up and find a cave. Jump up walls and he’s there to eat your fucking lunch and spit on your corpse
First area near the cannon guy
OCs are nowhere to be seen.
It's making me sad.
I found all the mask pieces. If anyone wonders what it does it allows you to exchange skill points for attack power.
>want to play Sekiro
>PC is an old toaster that desperately needs to be upgraded
>would have to save up for months to upgrade it
Why do you Nintenlards love lying about a game you never played so much?
How the FUCK do I beat the Ashina guy? I managed to almost beat him on my first try, but everytime after that I can't get past 50% HP on his first bar.
I've been here and thrashed the room
Dojo is right under the boss room
>ryzen 2600x and vega 56
>game keeps hovering from 42 fps to 56 and occasional 60 even after drive update
How do you keep your posture meter up by just spamming L1?
For those that fought Emma how did you feel about the boss fight? Did you feel like a dick?
>sloth u
>weakness u
>5x more sets of buffs
I like nioh but it has way more retarded mechanic
>ds4 controller randomly drops connection for a few seconds
>this may occur once every few hours or once every few seconds
>ds4windows is fully up to date
>can't get it to work without ds4windows
remind me again why it's ok to release a game without proper controller support
Right before Drunkard? I've been there a bunch since it's a good place to farm some Sen but never saw him. Guess I'll explore more. Thanks friend.
Which pot guy should I trust? Both have given me precious bait and want it offered to the great carp.
just unlocked dragonrot cure. I got 7 people sick should I use it now or wait a little bit? I know I will die a gajillion times more
How do you get more carp things for the right mask part? I only killed the two in the first area, found one in a corner somewhere but can't find more. Do they respawn? I assumed they were like crystal lizards.
Where the fuck are all the carp? How many are there in Hirata Estate, I only managed to find 5. I have to be missing some from there.
But only Sonyshitters whine about this game being anything more than it is.
I said nothing about spamming L1 you r-tard.
>Cheesing a game like Ni-Oh
lol
Fucking hell Genichiro is so fucking annoying
my 750ti could run this and DaS3 just fine. It's pretty damn toaster friendly.
DOES DRAGONROT COME FROM DYING OR RESURRECTING PLEASE
Dying
How do you fight her. I just finished the game and I'm fresh from killing the Hatred Demon which i missed before getting the ending or maybe he's only available after beating the game.
Who's the rival character of this action game
>WARE
8/10
>obaasan
9/10
>dude i took your arm 2.0
9/10
>dude i'm a batshit insane posturebreaking AoE giant nigger of a monkey with odachi upgrade in 2nd phase
fuckthisguy/10 at 20 tries and still only like 4 times 2nd phase
yes
Is it possible to beat Genichiro at the start of the game or is there a cutscene death if you manage to deathblow him?
I had issues with gyro at first. Had to go in game, use the ps4 button and shut down gyro in setting then restart game.
My right stick still turns into a cursor when any menu is open even items I just kicked up or tutorials but my controller hasn't dropped at all
How do i jump across lads
Nothing works
I mean after drunkard but the boss is right behind him anyway. He’ll give you a bead for health and there’s a hidden one behind him too so I got a health upgrade. Then went to take on the chained ogre with more health+flame vent and after that shit show you can get to the boss of that area and beat him pretty easily I felt. That’ll give you attack up damage and then I beat the boss of hirata after a few tries.
You'll get the ability to dive later and you'll find golden carps underwater in almost any water reservoir.
a ps4 is just $250, even less if you go for second hand so you could save for it in 2 months at worst
literally no excuse
if you beat him someone distracts you and he cuts your hand off anyway
respawning at an idol
You don't even parry? How are you so bad at the game?
You can't kill him as he's immortal
Where do I get key for Gun Fort door?
When Owl gives you the choice of forsaking Kuro or staying loyal to him, choose to forsake him. This also leads to the "evil" ending but in all honestly I liked this ending.
>spam r1
>every 3 attack you get in which still gets blocked the boss sends a flurry of counterattacks
>say to spam r1 after perfect parrying those
>posture doesn't restore
>get flurried again
>die
>die again
yeah, I was thinking of the wrong cave and walljumping. thanks
P-Please Mr. Genchiro-san, I would like to win and continue...
>have to unlock an ability to dive
>when you can already swim
That's kind of dumb but alright. Guess I'll wait for that.
at the library of central ashina castle, a few scenes after you beat Genichiro
Genichiro was one hell of a boss fight. Felt like the game was made for that fight.
Welp then it's beyond my reach now. Also the I laughed when Owl started crying and begging for his life the "That's my boy" when you gut him was also great.
Press L1? In Seikro, the enemy attacking you is better than you attacking the enemy for the purpose of breaking their posture.
This is part of why it sucks.
It's more of a infinite breath/water breatghing skill desu
Am I supposed to fight Genichiro with only 2 attack upgrades? It feels like he's doable, but grinding through 1st phase takes too long, and making a mistake there can kill.
It only took me three tries to beat him but was a delight overall.
