you do have a keyboard that's not a fucking rainbow, right Yea Forums?

I do have browns, yes

Though I'm looking for switches that have the same pressure sensitivity but are also clicky. Probably blues right?

This, hey op does your butt plug have rgb lighting as well? faggot

>check ~~~gaming~~~ section for the hell of it (obviously a mistake)
>almost every single one has some shitty lighting
I mean, really?

At best I'd expect things like extra macro buttons, or concerns for lower latency from a keyboard that has "gaming" in its name, not each of them being a light show.

>less than 100% keyboards
>ESPECIALLY the fucking 60% meme

Attached: 1517245546106.jpg (645x773, 141K)

nope, using a 15 year old cheap USB keyboard. I do need to get a new one though because the metal bar that makes the spacebar pop back up to full height is broken so now typing is really uncomfortable.

>tfw frequently replace your $10 cheap usb keyboard (every 3 years or so) because it's faster than cleaning it

i got the cheap, forty dollar, brown key velocifire. i like the blue lights, and it was a huge upgrade from a factory default dell keyboard that was over fifteen years old. just typing feels better.

yep, a k70 mx reds

Mine is a Stryx tactical with MX cherry red. It's not to bad but there's nothing much to brag about. The only real advantage over a standard desktop keyboard is the NTRO which lets you push as many keys as you want at the same time, and backlit keys which is still nice in the dark. It's also very stable thanks to its weight.

Programmable keys aren't really useful unless you play a lot of MMOs or MOBAs, and there's something about the key layout which makes me make a lot of misclicks.

>not having a keyboard with the mid section and the numpad combined

Also my w key led flickers and goes off and on when it's pressed does anyone what's up with that?

Attached: quickfire-tk.jpg (1024x683, 334K)

I do, but I don't use it anymore. It's a meme.

I just use a rubber dome now.

Attached: 1550006720059.jpg (423x509, 81K)

I do and I main support in Overwatch and League.

Attached: 1548007737504.jpg (637x650, 127K)

I do have a K95 RGB Platinum with browns and a Wooting Two ordered.

I wish I had a keyboard with the numpad on the left so I could enter numbers for work things with the left hand without taking my right hand off the mouse all the fucking time. Pretty sure the idea of having numpads on the right stems from pre-mouse times.

I like to hear the game I'm playing over the keyboard.

based ding chavez

Same question as ,
what are good switches which let you feel the click when you push a key ? I need a little more feedback with my keyboard.

Headsets are the way to go.

I do, but they are fucking noisy, especially when typing. It used to drive my sister mad when I lived with her.

I used to, until i got particularly wasted on grain alcohol late one summers eve and spilt a tonne of Jack Daniels onto it. I managed to suck most of the liquid out of case but it still fucked up the switches. Ended up throwing it out. The Sun Microsystems keyboard i have now works fine so whatever.

Attached: WhyYouLittle.jpg (777x759, 271K)

I can't not. I gotta have my clickty clack.

I bought one of those cheap tenkeyless Velocifires for 30 bucks on a whim. Thought it'd be trash but I just needed any keyboard and was pleasantly surprised, I've always liked the quieter brown switches though.

Attached: Velocifire.jpg (1600x800, 145K)

Where my k120 bros at

Yeah it sucks balls, I need a low-profile keyboard because my fingers are too big

I've got two
>CoolerMaster, blue switches, no LED
>Velocifire wireless, brown switches, white LED

CM keyboard was about $100 when I bought it 3 years ago, and the Velocifire was $48 when I bought it 2 weeks ago. I had really low expectations of the Velocifire, but it's nice.

I had or have 6 different mechanical keyboards. Been with the meme since 2011

I fell for the 60% meme and honestly it's not that bad. The only keys that I miss are left/right arrows and delete and I bound these on my mouse. If you ask me the ideal layout is tkl or 80%, you really don't need the numpad unless you work on Excel sheets daily.

I have a Corsair K70 red and I like it overall but I'm convinced that I'm making more typos than I did with the el cheapo membrane boards I used before.

>circumcised keyboard

No I’m not poor.

Just washed my k68 and letting it dry now

I regret getting a mechanical keyboard given all the dust that collects betqeen keys

Pull the keys out and clean it every three to six months, idiot

You can rinse keyboards in the sink or put them in the dishwasher if you let them dry thoroughly afterwards (several days covered in rice).

>I regret getting a mechanical keyboard given all the dust that collects betqeen keys
Other keyboards don't have this problem? Is dust build a serious consideration for you when judging a keyboard?

I play on a laptop with a mechanical keyboard on the right side of it. So I have my right hand on ESDF and when U want to tie I actually have the membrane of the laptop.

I type around 2x faster with a laptop keyboard then with a mechanical one.
Mechanical keyboard keys are just too easy to press, and I have big fingers.
Anyone got experience with those harder to press keys? (Like cherry brown, green & clear iirc.)

This may sound insane but it works just fine and I have saved several keyboards like this. You can buy a nice keyboard that had an "äccident" with a sugary drink off eBay for cheap and restore it to mint condition by washing it in lukewarm water and drying it out for a week or so.

I have one of these. I'm not certain.

I can't think of the last time I used arrow keys in a PC game. If it's first-person, it's WASD. If it's anything else, it's a controller, especially emulation.

I have a small table.

>IT LITERALLY GOES CLICK WHEN I PRESS KEY

I got a G403 wired yesterday and today I'll get a Corsair K55. They're replacing a Deathadder and Tarantula keyboard from 8-9 years ago.

The mouse feels like shit, the software doesn't detect the mouse unless it's run as admin, and I feel like the keyboard is gonna be disappointing too. I intentionally didn't spend more on a mechanical keyboard because I'm 90% sure it's a meme and doesn't affect anything when you're not a pro player, but now that the mouse feels cheap I think I should've spent more money on a keyboard, lest it feels plastic-y too.

It feels differen't you fucking child

how are they superior?

>WOW IT ***FEELS*** CLICKY TOO!
>ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

They feel nicer to type on than a rubberdome. Like a nice leather chair compared to a office freebie.

People just like spending slightly more money on a product and claiming it's superior. I bet you mechanical keyboard faggots own golden HDMIs too, to improve the speed of your HDMI connections

Attached: 51nJZjRaDLL._SY355_.jpg (333x355, 25K)

Wired was on sale for 35 bucks instead of 70. But I don't think I would've bought wireless even at the same price, so you're probably not wrong.

ich krieg mehr weiber ab als du schwuchtel xd lg geh allein wichsen

Clicking key switches are a specific type of mechanical switch though, there are at least two different kinds which are not clicky.

>mechanical keyboard faggots can't even agree about what's so "superior" about their autismo keyboards

lel

>STRG

What's this fucking faggorty

Its subjective what is superior, I feel zero wrist cramps typing on my keyboard even after hours of use.

I got something close to this, the Corsair K68.
It felt liberating to use a mechanical keyboard with cherry reds after years of membrane shit. Even after a year it feels good to type. Probably not the best kb ever but that's one thing I don't regret buying and will shill for.

Attached: 64132879.png (1800x1062, 560K)

Yeah I love the low profile of the keys and the thin function keys. I'm still holding out for a mechanical keyboard that has something like those.

What's the loudest most obnoxious switch I can buy?

Attached: 1547082830729.gif (200x200, 131K)

Blues by far.

keyboards run very low wattage. in the future just unplug it asap, then get a big plastic case or something, fill it with water, and let it sit for ~2 days before letting it dry for a while. saves like 80% of kbs from drinks. you could try doing it on yours even though it has dried and it might work. worst case you break and already broken kb. for some you have to reoil it, but normally its gtg after drying.
t. drink a lot of alcohol at the computer

Why do all of these things look like they were made for edgy teenagers? Is there such a thing as a normal, subtle mechanical keyboard?

It's for dumb dumbs who only use their keyboards for games.

Topre

Based. I've been using a G11 for 10 years now and it's still in great shape. I'd only replace it for a mechanical version but afaik no one includes 18 macro keys anymore aside from the older K95 models.

This. Physical keyboards are a crutch.

I got this one from lidl. It's semi mechanical. Don't really play games on the computer. Just needed a new keyboard cause the old BT one crapped out and I was sick of using the onscreen one.

Attached: silvercrest-gaming-keyboard--7.jpg (772x579, 50K)

>lidl
lol crazy euros and their made up words

Didn't you get lidl and aldi in the states recently?

looks like only the deep south east coast got lidl. i thought aldi was just trader joe's

Attached: 1393869364867.png (393x293, 118K)

Is the ones at Walmart any good? I always wanted to buy one on impulse so I can't wait or really care to go out of my way to Best Buy.

Had to Google what trader Joe's is. Seems like a normal shop like Tesco or publix. Which lidl) aldi pretty much is, except they have weekly specials like gaming stuff, tools, clothes etc.
Have to say, it's the nicest keyboard I've ever felt, the brushed aluminium looks and feels nice and the keys have a satisfying click. I think it has like 12 light patterns and 3 intensities. Don't know how it would handle in a gaming environment but I'd imagine it's satisfactory.

For mine 3 days was enough, I spilled coke on it.

trader joes is a usual grocery store but VERY yuppie and about half the store is the generic in-house brand

I have a Model M because of the concave design, absolutely ergonomic for typing. Also it's loud as shit, I love it.

Topre one is better tho.

I think mine looks fine, even thought it is a chink copy of Corsair K70. As long as you replace the keycaps that is.

Attached: alfawise v2.jpg (1129x391, 82K)

Alright, just got the keyboard. It feels like absolute garbage. Literally worse than the keyboards in my schools' computer lab back in 2010.
The mouse is also garbage. Great. I'll send both mouse and keyboard back and I guess I'll stick with the double-clicking or held-click-releasing Deathadder and the Tarantula because I know I won't get used to the plastic shit feel of the others.

Happy birthday me. I just wanted one thing, JUST ONE THING. Just to buy the first new pair of peripherals since FUCKING 2011

So it's a posh shop with fake brands? That doesn't seem very yuppie to me. Where would it lie compared to publix, whole foods and Lidl/Aldi? I like lidl/aldi, I get my clothes shopping, gifts and household items from there while I also handle grocery shopping. Wish we had wal-shart over here. And while foods. That place has some choice products.

>ISO layout

Attached: 1535484872715.jpg (832x584, 82K)

>people still buying expensive cherryshit
>in the current year
Retards. Why haven't you jumped on the chinktrain yet?

i guess its better than publix, but i think that's only like in florida, i've never seen one here. it's less high end and smaller than a whole foods, but it tries to be more 'down to earth'. they'll carry a lot of local/smaller brands and generally not have many of the bigger stuff like say kellogs cereal. Also trader joes and whole foods ONLY have food stuffs. walmart is really overrated and honestly the worst of the big superstores. Cali whole foods are crazy. you can sign into prime at the checkout for a discount and they sell vodka. really weird coming from a different state.

Cherry 62g ergo-clear is objectively the best switch tho.

Attached: 5vhcbzHe.jpg (2576x1932, 781K)

Wouldn't mashing those nubs be sore af on the fingers after a while?
Also, dude, where's your keys lmoa. How are you supposed to type with a blank keyboard.

Is Walmart like target? When I was in Australia I was in target and it seemed like your Walmart I see posted. Also lidl/aldi across the continent carry different goods. I remember the aldis in UK had a range of cheap ripoff boomer sips and Ireland had like 15 varieties of rice cakes. Also, aldi beer is GOAT. Chilled galahad all summer long in my inflatable pool.

Embrace the return key.

>have to keep engaging and disengaging numlock all the time
Yeah, no thanks.

yeah, its like a target with lower prices but lower quality. it used to be higher quality but still cheap but they started really cutting costs once the original owner died. they have super walmarts that are much much bigger than a target, but ive never been to one.

That‘s what you get for buying razer/korsair/logitech keyboards

most business TKLs already have a numpad on another layer. IBM, HP, Realforce all do this

I got a strafe for half off and love it. idk which one it is but it's the one with the wheel for volume control. Kinda annoying because I'm so used to an actual key for volume so I just made an ahk script and bound it to f7/8/9

You cannot make any alt shortcut though, like ® 0174 and neither can the tkl model m guy.

I can tho. Any alt code you want I can post it. Not just the model Ms tho, even dell and hp TKLs have the same features

That numrow you can wipe your ass with, it doesn't register as the numpad to the right. I know because I looked into it and there's plenty talking on the subject. You won't be able to do the alt symbols with the top one.

>Try making this symbol ~ with your tkl

are you blind? there's a numpad with a numlock right on the keyboard.

I told you to make ®
0174, you won't find it on the keyboard.

So how do you game using a keyboard? I mean I understand you use WASD to move, but what about switching weapons? Wouldn't you have to lift your hands off WASD to hit 1-0 or have to use the F keys?

retard
ibmfiles.com/ibmfiles/peripherals/modelm/Extended Character Set with Space Saver Keyboard.pdf

you usually tab or right click to show the weapon menu and pick the weapon with the mouse

I hate keyboards without numpads too but the ~ symbol? It's right on the tilde key my guy

the scroll wheel is a thing
are you a console gamer or what

use the mouse wheel dummy
also use esdf instead of wasd

Well what if you need to switch weapons quickly such as in multiplayer?

i just copy pasted it from my txt document, i don't need to memorize the entire alt shortcut list lol
but there are obviously tkls with alt numpads, don't be a ®etard

I find it strange that most of the showcased keyboards all come with multimedia buttons and silly bright-colored LEDs. Why pay for shit to look tacky when you're going to be looking into the monitor during your entire computer experience?

You have 5 fingers on each hand friend. You can easily keep your middle finger on the wheel if you're that paranoid about it.

I'm talking about the mouses with only 2 or 3 side buttons
you won't die that easily do you think your opponents don't do the same?

how small are your fingers that you cant reach keep any two on wasd and have a third hit any of the mentioned keys? you'll never need to hit 3 movement keys at once so it works out.

Most games have a weapon wheel that slows down/stops time while you choose the weapon lifted straight from consoles but when weapon switching by using numbers is in your muscle memory it's the fastest, smoothest option by far. you don't need to constantly use the strafe buttons so lifting your index or ring fingers from D or A respectively for 0.1s to change a weapon is hardly an interruption.

Yeah

can't you just scroll back and go from 1 to 5?

>not having scrollwheel unbound or only bound to jump
cringe

I got a full length version of this when the company was called Tomoko, but at some point they changed names to VicTsing and the full length version is no longer for sale. Still really nice for like $50 and it's lasted me for years without any issues.
amazon.com/TOMOKO-Water-Resistant-Mechanical-Keyboard-Non-Conflicting/dp/B01DBJTZU2/ref=asc_df_B01DBJTZU2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198100405651&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1511745057942467409&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9027902&hvtargid=pla-376591712629&psc=1

That's with the implication that there are only 5 weapons in the game total. Plenty of shooters have 8-10 weapons. In those cases I'll usually rebind some of the weapons to keys like Q, E (if there's no leaning) or even caps lock because numbers higher than 6 are hard to reach.

>upgrade computer
>website throws in a new keyboard with their logo on it for free
been using those cheap free keybaords for like 13 years now. paying more than 20$ for a keyboard is laughable.

But in games like Resident Evil 5 I have to scroll wheel through all the crap to get to my weapons from 1-9.

I just don't want to die to bullshit if it can be helped.

Oh you mean like the g502?

I don't know how to get good at that because I've never used the number keys and I've mostly played on controller.

So don't scroll through them. Did you even read my post?

Cherry MX or Gateron blue switches?

what's the point of them/whats so good about them?

So that one second off WASD really won't get me killed?

I do, but I often look back at that choice and wonder why.
Honestly a waste of money

>I don't know how to get good at that

By doing it. Nobody was born with their hands used to a fucking keyboard yet here we are using them. After you complete a couple of games while forcing yourself to use the number keys it'll already be in your muscle memory. Just start using them even if it's awkward at first and you're a bit clumsy. We were all bad at one point.

any mouse labelled as "gaming" have those buttons these days but yes, kind of like that
it's not like you were born with controller proficiency either

are you retarded?

>have old cheap $10 keyboard
>lasts 10 years
>finally dies
>buy a "mechanical keyboard" jan 2019
>lasts 2 months before several keys stop working / take multiple presses to register 1 output
fucking meme trash

Like I said, you don't need to constantly have your fingers on all of the WASD buttons. You'll mostly be lifting either your index or ring finger from D or A for a fraction of a second. This is unlikely to get you hurt because you can still move in all directions but one for that small fraction of a second.

Unfortunately I'm looking for full size and ISO but thanks user.
Cherry is the only one I have experience with.

Combine a cup holder with one of those unspillable cups and you have to be too drunk to even sit at the desk to spill it over the keyboard.

Attached: holder.gif (220x218, 331K)

i thought you used your index for w/s thumb for d and pinky for a
isn't that how everyone does it

my fix is just putting drinks on the floor. that way they can only spill on the floor.

You do spend thousands of dollars on real mechanical keyboards and not flashy shill gaming keyboards, right user?

The spring's jammed in. Use wd40 with the straw accessory. Pull the cap, press the key all the way, put the tip of the straw inside. Gently spray some in it, press a few times and you'll see it goes away.

>not having a snack table
what a pleb. i mostly use mine for my ashtray though :^(

fucking lmao

>Keys so loud I needed rubber o rings

>not mogging everyone within earshot by smashing your keys down as violently as possible

I have been using the same 10€ keyboard for years, is the step up in price really worth it?

Attached: keyboard.jpg (3264x2448, 605K)

yes. membrane keyboards feel like typing on a fat person in comparison

No

No

>WASD
>ESDF
what a load of plebs. everyone knows RAGE is the best way to play

I'll try to get use to it. I just don't want to get into a match and have people get mad at me for learning to use a keyboard.

Never got the difference. Like why are they better? I only notice how loud they are.

Yeah. I like it

Attached: 006.jpg (720x480, 119K)

play against bots first brah

>wanna try Topre

But it is overly expensive like all Japanese products

Don't jump into multiplayer to practice this shit. Learn with a singleplayer game.

Ok that keyboard makes me NUT.
I love industrial/Point-of-Sale keyboards
Where did you get one?

Is that really a mechanical keyboard though?

Looks fuckin sweet. What model?

Pic related is all I need.

Attached: 41W0OwHWdCL.jpg (500x203, 31K)

it has the wrong enter key

First real keyboard i've used aside from 10 dollar crap and laptop keyboards, the clickiness is fun

youtu.be/0xH-imuniec

Looks pretty god damn right to me.

Why do you need that fancy mic setup? Are you some sort of faggot streamer?

Mic was a gift. I work physical labor.

mic + quality heaphones > aio headset
though i will say the hyperx headsets are p great especially for the price, i had a cloud core that lasted forever

>mic + quality heaphones > aio headset

Yeah, no fucking shit.

you asked faggot

I don't need a memeboard like you faggots.

This is a hundred percent true. HyperX are a great alternative.
Look at this mad faggot lol

for me, it's the hhkb pro2

I didn't imply aio headsets are better, you ultra faggot so you're just being a retard

that tongue unfff
i wanna put my dick in its mouth

consolefags and Yea Forumstards are retarded

Alright, there is one more question I have? Is there any way to strengthen my fingers, because when I try to lift them up to the number keys they kind of hurt.

>get btfo
Lol he's delusional too
>WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT MIC
>because its better
>I KNOW THAT GRRR
Walk away from the computer lol

I bought an X4 sidewinder about 8 years ago and I still use it even now as I type this post while I upgraded the rest of my computer twice since then
Aside from a scratched Caps Lock button, it works perfectly and looks good as new. I even cleaned it yesterday

>gets called out for it, getting BTFO in the process
>b-but u m-mad!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA fucking brilliant

You get used to it. It's like going from holding a controller like a casul to a claw grip, it hurts for a while then it just becomes second nature.

Look into box navy/jade. They work differently then cherry and have a thicc metal click bar that the stem flicks on it's way down. I got this on spacebar.

Also the hako switches are like browns with a more noticeable, longer bump. I got these on wasd.

Ofc you'll need to buy a hot swappable board or build.

brb gonna vomit

nice teefs
do hyenas have barbed tongues like cats? if so i retract my statement about wanting to put my wiener in its mouth

The thing is, he never implied gaming headsets with integrated mics are good, he just asked why you'd need a studio quality mic for simply playing games and you somehow turned it into a lecture about how AIO headsets are bad. Everyone and their grandma knows that, my guy.

mechanical is a meme.

Attached: 81BtauNkTjL._SL1500_.jpg (1500x476, 101K)

no i've got an old dell rubber dome keyboard from the 90s, I just prefer the feel...

What's a good keyboard that has a number pad and adjustable backlight?

Nah, I use this. Cost me 11 bucks.
I rek every RGB mechanical razer fag.
All that matters is a decent mouse.

Attached: keyboard-natec-genesis-r11.jpg (458x458, 29K)

Why hasn't anyone made a pressure sensitive keyboard? It'd make things like driving and slow movement so much less cancerous.

Those already exist but are expensive as fuck.

Mech keys offer little advantage in only a few situations (osu). It's bout muh feels.

on my last keyboard i typed nigger once and my e/i keys started chattering. like registered 4x for one press, made it unuseable

I have a one dollar membrane. Mechanical faggots buy them so other people can hear them clacking on discord

friends hear me clacking on discord and I use a membrane keyboard

lmao why California raisins

Yes, 60% with cherry clear switches

What is the difference between a mechanical keyboard and a normal keyboard?

Attached: D364DFEF-F333-494E-93F0-9D8764843726.jpg (750x827, 404K)

a mechanical keyboard is mechanical whereas a normal keyboard is not

oh,ok.thanks.

only retards have loud, obnoxious keys that can be heard from orbit.

Only retards have mechanical keys because they think going back in time is "superior"

it's kinda sad really, like driving a manual car.

Based, i have a Corsair Strafe.

lmgtfy.com/?iie=1&q=What is the difference between a mechanical keyboard and a normal keyboard?

You can't hear in orbit retard.

Keyboard autism never fails to make me laugh

t. fag who think every mechanical keyboard uses blue switches

god i wish that fox were me

Just bought this bad boy with browns

>not having diamond tipped hdmi cables

Fucking poor bastard
