STILL A LITTLE PUPPY
SEKIRO THREAD
>go to fight purple ninja because I heard he's supposedly pretty tough
>I'm just parrying and blocking to get a hang of his moveset
>game forcefully minimizes because of windows notification
>I tab back into the game and I'm in the resurrection screen
>resurrect and decide to reset the fight by going back to the statue
>jump into the river right below the cliff
>suddenly get a large amount of exp and an item
>purple ninja somehow managed to suicide himself by jumping off the cliff
Is he a fun fight if he doesn't decide to end himself?
REPOSTIN
I like this game, it is fun. I can see myself replaying it too, which is nice. It certainly hasn't been perfect, but I still think it is a great game so far. What are your opinions on Sekiro?
Souls games are shit
>tfw fought her with a single vitality upgrade, no attack upgrades and 2 gourds
I was starting to get delirious after the 4th hour
it's too hard
Now this is kino
me rike/10
...
Emma has the most interesting background.
There's a miniboss version of him at the bottom of the well you start the game in if you haven't fought him already. It's a pretty fun fight, but it's more fun in hirata because the confined space of the well can get you fucked in ways that feel unfair.
>open youtube
>suddenly Emma the bossfight show up video some faggot showed up
Thanks, I hate it.
Emma because why the fuck would you not want to get wasted with the cute doctor?
Wasn't really feeling it until I got some tool upgrades. Still feels rough around the edges a lot of the time, especially when it comes to stealth elements, but the combat is keeping me engaged.
What's the story? You're a time traveler intended to stop the magic bloodline of dragons? What?
after some patches and with good DLC i definately see myself placing this game higher than Dark Souls 2, maybe 3 we'll see.
(BB == DaS1 > Sk >= Das3 >>>>> Das2)
he played fightan games before
why is he still shit at it?
O I didnt see you there, thanks. I thought it might be something like certain drinks are better for certain characters. I have this special monkey drink and Rice drink
There are more purple dudes no worries
>Spend 2 points to get more of those emblems
>It just gives me one extra
Whats the fucking point then
It's great, just takes a bit too long to get most of your prosthetics but that might just seem that way because it's a first playthrough. The start is super rough due to a lack of HP, posture, damage, skills, healing, etc but it evens out fairly quickly.
now I hate you too because my mouse was right on top of it when I scrolled
fuck you cunt
Keep at it, user. You'll get there. If you're trying to play it like a souls game, cut that shit out. You need to be less aggressive against bosses and play more reactively. I though it was too hard at first too, but then the combat just clicked for me. Just got done kicking Lady Butterfly and Geninchiro's asses, and god damn it was satisfying. Gitting gud is so much fun in this game.
So what parts of the skill tree are high priority? What's in your opinion stuff that you would always try to pick up as fast as possible in subsequent playthroughs?
>WAAAAHHH GAME IS TO HARD
>tfw unironically agree with DSP
I start enjoying it, then get to a miniboss, murdered like a bitch in two hits, and the fun is over until I bash my head against that particular wall enough times.
Yes because you are also a retard. Your point?
Is it just me or do most of these special attacks seem useless? Everything aside from whirlwind and shadowrush has been really underwhelming.
mikiri counter is the #1 skill to purchase first.
how do i fight the brap ape, fire doesn't work
I gave monkey trouble to Emma. If you want to know, it reveals that she went through the same thing Wolf did, with Monkey being her Owl.
The skill tree you get from the assassin guy gives you a good special attack.
I already have that. Is getting the enhanced version also a priority?
Mikiri Counter, the two stealth improvements, health restore on death blows, and all the prosthetic attack follow-ups.
i cant see him finishing this game. he died like 300 times on Dark Souls 3, how many times did he die in this game today?
I didn't say that anywhere :)
:) maybe you should learn to read before replying to comments
So bros, the final question..which combat type is better:
>Dodge oriented (Bloodborne or most action games really)
or
>Parry oriented(Sekiro)
Why are the Ashina Arts so fucking good? Is there any reason to invest in any other skill tree before that one?
well each combat art has like 5 upgrades each and you kind of need them for them to feel good
absolutely
turns every thrust attack into a huge posture gain against your opponent. i've finished the game and mikiri counter is EASILY my number one used skill.
Press F to pay respects to Sculptor who is you the Player
What does this mean?
I asked this a 2 threads ago but I havnt figured it out so pls. I have the spear prosthetic and I want to upgrade it into the spiral spear, I have enough money and materials + all the previous spear upgrades. When I try to upgrade it says I dont have the proper prerequisites but I have all the previous upgrades. What do I need. Help me. I just want to pierce the heavens with my spear.
I fucking adore rhythm games so give me that parry shit.
Not all skills in fighting games are transferable to other genres
He's fully correct. Get every fucking miniboss and boss to stop downing the player in two hits and you end up with an infinitely more enjoyable game that has some actual back and forth instead of back and DED.
is he at the end of ashina outskirts once it's being attacked by the central forces?
>tfw no kunoichi game
also i want Sekiro 2 to be Samurai, the other side of the coin.
Anyone who didnt put it together when they first saw the dude is kind of an idiot. Just look at his coat and arm kek
a mix of both would be nice to be honest. you're either spamming one or the other. Buffing iframes in sekiro would be a nice change.
he kept dying to butterfly because he didn't knew he had to jump at the low sweep and kept blaming the game for not registering his inputs, after painfully long minutes of constant dying and playing like a souls game making pokes and running away he realized there was a phase 2 and ragequited
yeah and once time travel is introduced, pretty much anything goes. which is why i hate time travel as a plot device
It's hard for me to choose. Sekiro feels very different and fresh. I still like the dodging and dashes in BB though.
It just clicked and I beat her last night, feels good.
The Sculptor isn't Sekiro. There's no time travel. You can just take his place in a sort of Souls-style cycle in one of the endings. These are the retards that need Vaati to spell everything out for them.
Mikiri 100% first pick, followed by it's upgrade and then rushing Living Force.
You need every upgrade that leads into Spiral Spear, so that means you also need Gouging Top. The lines are requirements, not optional paths. Yes, it's a pain.
>He doesnt know i havent beaten the game yet
git gud dsp
>literally bullying old woman
How did Fromsoft get away with this?
>DS1 that high
Shit opinion, disregarded.
Threadly reminder to not scoff at the game's stealth.
They make the minibosses so much fucking easier.
I don't think it's even accurate to say that Sekiro is parry oriented. For some enemies and bosses in the game, parrying can be useless, and occasionally detrimental. Sekiro gives you a huge toolkit and you have to figure out what moves/tools work against what, which is why in my opinion it soars well above any of the souls games.
4 hours? Go back to your baby games soulsfag. If you didn't do it in less than an hour with 1 gourd and no upgrades, you're not worthy to play this masterpiece.
DaS2cuck spotted
just admit that your game sucks already you contrarian loser
>muh souls ending
seething
Should I complete the memory first or the Ashina castle first? Or it doesn't matter?
It's pretty much just deflect > attack > deflect > attack. A lot easier than people make out.
>checkpoint name is dojo
>arena is a dojo
>boss is purely parry training
the somersault special is useful
holy fuck, is there a video of his reaction to his phase 2? most people i hear about are just "holy fuck" but to quit?
Who has for now the most playthrough full of rage and autism except for DSP? I love watching things like that for games like Soulsborne or Nioh etc.
Are there enough scales in the game for me to buy both unique items at the barrel NPC?
FUCK OGRES
FUCK KAPPAS
FUCK CEILING NINJAS
FUCK KITES
FUCK MONKEYS
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
FUCK OLD WOMEN
What do you do with the two snake hearts?
Where can i find the ring to upgrade my whistle to t3? Killed almost everything, cant find this ring.
>gives her a giant health bar and only one deathblow
>gives you a tutorial prompt for posture when you walk in the room (hint hint)
>people still dont get it
>stuck on genichiro
>combat finally clicks
>kill his first form without taking any hits and 2nd with only using 1 gulp
this game is pure brute force filter.
Go for the memory, you can get two prosthetic tools there and the attack boost is really worth it IMO
Final boss of the memory is a bitch if you don't have an attack upgrade or two yet. If you're actually at the top of Ashina Castle ready to fight Genichiro then finish the memory simply because it's easier.
I did the memory first but I'm honestly confused in which order they expect you to do it. On the one hand you get the memory before progessing any further into the castle, and they also talk about the red eyed enemy needing to be killed by fire, which you also get from there.
Then again the memory miniboss and boss are quite a bit more difficult than the first castle boss.
Yea Forums has become invaded by casuals and this game just exposed them all
Choice use of firecrackers does good posture damage and forces him to do a big wind-up attack into a stunned state, you can get some good hits in there. He's also got a combo in his first form that when you parry the final big hit, he gets stunned. Second form is the exact same, parry his final big wind-up hit and he'll be stunned, he also always does his AOE scream after this sequence so you don't have to worry about reacting to his other perilous attacks.
Fighting seven spears dude right now, what the hell am i doing wrong? i'm trying to parry spam him but his posture goes back up so fast that nothing i do is sticking
m e h /10
I'll finish it but I highly doubt I'll replay it
I like how literally all the bosses in the game are just like literally-who people and then a dragon and a big snake and then neither the big dragon nor snake are real boss fights. Big dragon is just masked QTE's and then the snake is literally a stealth mission
Yes, there are areas where you can farm scales too.
It means he may help a shinobi in the future like the sculptor did because he's taking his place. It doesn't mean Sekiro is a time traveler stuck in a paradox. The Sculptor's arm was cut by Isshin Ashina, not Genichiro.
Does anyone know what the triggers/points of no return are for the different endings?
>only one deathblow
are you drunk?
posture regen slows down the less health he has. so keep chipping and building posture on him. eventually he cant recover at all. also mikuru counter or whatever its called.
i thought the divine dragon was pretty cool. he's a nice break from the typical fights. also, i'm not sure how else a boss of its size is supposed to be done. the way from decided on i think was reasonably fun while still conveying the absolute difference in size and powersets.
I have those ceramic stone thingies. How do I use them to distract patrolling guards? Just aim chuck them to their face?
What happens with Kotaro after I gave him the white pinwheel? I think he just wants me to kill him, but it just says refuse. Anayama is looking for a big guy, is Kotaro not the big guy?
Are all the bosses in this game just humans/humanoids? Or does it completely go balls to the walls later on like Bloodbourne?
Got my shit pushed in yesterday and I finally killed every general up to Gyubo so I'm starting to get the hang of things. I like the new direction of the combat since it keeps you on your toes and its no longer about just dodging or using a shield. Now you actually have to be even more aggressive and be on top of your deflections. I wish there was multiplayer but with how latency is It would kill the combat.
She only has one death blow but 2 phases.
But you're right, you're meant to whittle her health down.
whatever you want to call the health pip
and yes i know she resets but they clearly want you to go for the posture break
Being low on HP slows down posture recovery, being set on fire does health damage and prevents posture recovery, you can sneak around the tower like you did in the tutorial and get a backstab on him, Mikiri is god-tier watch out for the sweep he sometimes does after you use it.
I don't fucking get it, i beat Lady butterfly i think 4th try or something but it was a fight where i didn't ever stop attacking/parrying her because then her posture meter would go back to 0 very fast.
Then i was watching the shitter Lirik fight her and he could fucking attack her run around her for 10 min and her posture meter wouldn't even flinch. How the fuck does this shit work
I dont fucking understand what Im supposed to do against her
Even if I manage to perfect parry half of the attacks in her chain it doesnt do fucking anything and and im lucky to get in 1 hit of chip damage. How the fuck am I meant to fight these bosses
the fuck do you do with the priest in the zombie village? Do I just kill him?
a majority of the bosses are humanoids and you shouldn't expect too many non humanoid bosses.
I have no idea, I'm just shitposting. All I know is that there's humans and a dragon and a snake so I made assumptions
just be glad they're humans because when they aren't it's fucking awful
he's literally right
ive never played a souls game. this shit is frustrating. been playing for a few hours and i just managed to beat the shinobi hunter in hirata. im changing the controller layout constantly to find out what isnt awkward. the auto lock on system gets me killed a lot. does it get easier bros?
There are so many things spelling it right out to you just stop
seriously, you guys need to read the fucking tips they force you to read this time. The lower the enemy health is, the slower the parry bar recovers, the same works for you. If your parry bar is taking long to recover, you need to recover your health. Holding R1 also makes the parry bar recover faster.
Just watched some gameplay videos here and there. This looks unfun as fuck
The lower the HP the boss has, the slower the posture bar depletes. It also applies to your own.
>ive never played a souls game.
And that's a good thing. Because this game is going to trash you so hard going in with soulsgames mindset.
git gud
There's a snake god you one shot
There's a giant dragon god which is pretty cool
There is a giant monkey
There is a giant manifestation of hate
There are multiple bulls
The lower the enemies health, the slower the posture metre depletes. You can also do things like throw your shurikens at her on the wire which really helps keep it up there when she moves away.
Either way, for the first 25-50% of her health bar, I doubt you can keep the posture above 25% for long.
>Headless sticks his hand up your ass to get your soul bead
Wait a minute. Was I fighting a kappa all along/
consider options other than continuing to live
So you can still run around and do chip dmg to the boss and eventually she will die? Meh i thought this was supposed to be a hard game, if the posture meter didn't "stagnate" with HP now that shit would be cool and intense
That well fight is utter bullshit, how come FROM still can't make games with decent cameras?
Ok, i gotta give it up. The final final final final boss is actually really cool.
Couldn't get him to go to Anayama either, so I'll let you know what I did. You need the Divine Abduction ninja tool from the Gun Fort in the Sunken Valley. Talk to him again, agree, then use it on him. You can find him again at the entrance to the Folding Screen Monkeys boss fight, look immediately to your left and talk to him again for an item.
but I'm loving the game though
my genichiro experience was the same, first getting fucked every try and then suddenly absolutely destroying his both forms without using any heals after I learned all the attack patterns and variations to those patterns. I think sekiro's one big fucking flaw is that some attacks on bosses are really badly choreographed, which is not good when parrying is such a big part of the combat
The game makes it clear that it's talking about The Demon of Hatred being the Sculptor. Not the Sculptor being Sekiro
Playing this game has made me miss souls. I like Sekiro but I don’t love it. Once I have 100% the game, I’m gonna return to souls. I hope From do the same tbqh
>finally beat guy in the castle
>he powers up
>with lightning
>he has even more red attacks
I won't make it bros...
I miss builds and variety
Don't focus on parrying at all and just sprint around, taking shots at her when she finishes a combo or big attack.
The fight almost forces you to deplete her health bar or at least get it very low before you can death blow.
It makes HP damage matter, while also allowing you to perform quick kills due to posture pressure even if their HP is still high. Posture bar will also instantly fill if you take their HP to 0
Nioh 2 soon
>You need every upgrade that leads into Spiral Spear, so that means you also need Gouging Top
God dammit why, I want to upgrade Phantom Kunai instead. Time to go farming again. This is the first fromsoft game I have had to farm money. Thanks for telling me though I would have never upgraded that shit.
>put any kind of criticism on a game that's said to be hard
>"LE GIT GUD"
Not a bad game but the over-reliance on parrying is flawed, you can quite often get it by just spamming l1 when the enemy is attacking rather than by timing it correctly. I prefer Nioh and DS where you have options for your build, parrying being one, rather than being forced upon you.
He quit the fight, tried to go to another area but kept dying. Right after stopping the stream he went to twiiter and posted
>The fight almost forces you to deplete her health bar or at least get it very low before you can death blow.
Bullfucking shit you should never run from her and just stick to attacking and parrying, this way she won't even do the illusion attack or the orbs one.
I hope they will never regurgitate soulsborne universe again.
DS3 was such a piece of shit already.
You'll really understand how stupid the "souls games are hard" meme is when playing them after this.
Where can i get the longsword i see you guys rocking? I already killed the lightning basedboi
how the hell do you kill the bull
i've been getting buttfucked by this asshole for the last hour now with little to no progress
Have you got firecrackers?
Is there any reason there are no more weapons in the game?
>Enemies with spears, axes, rifles and bows exist
>Can't use any of these weapons
why?
The illusion attack is the best time to chunk her health because she does almost nothing for the first half of it.
Shut the fuck up nigger cuck.
I love how I foresee people whining about that fight a lot, after complaining that Souls bosses were only about dodge and r1. It was a really well done gimmick boss, better than the better DeS gimmick bosses even.
Does anti-air deathblow works on jumping bosses? Is it worth 1200 coins?
I like checking in on streamers for parts I already finished. A couple of friends of mine play as well. It's interesting how easy this game tilts them.
Sekiro exposes the portion of the playerbase that relied on crutches that Soulsgame used to provide and it's interesting to see the reactions of people. You can't just pump vigor, summon your sunbaby squad and watch the game play itself while you're sitting in a corner spamming variations of Souls Arrow at your target. The game isn't actually as hard as people make it out to be if you're not afraid to time your parries and go on the offensive when it's needed but that requires you to actually actively participate in the fight. A common strategy with Souls games used to be to just sit there with a decent shield, occasionally poke at the enemy with your weapon if it was safe to do so and then backpedal until the next opportunity arises. The posture system doesn't allow that sort of bullshit. There is no war of attrition or death of a thousand paper cuts. Your job is to hunt the boss down or get fucked. People that adopted that playstyle in previous Souls games don't have nearly as high of a learning curve than people that just relied on high SL stats to carry them through.
>random fuck in armor with a spear mini boss shows up
>lol mikiri counter ez
>get absolutely fucking mauled 6 times in a row
Even when I managed to get the counter it did like 5% of his posture.
I wish we had more yokai bosses and enemies in the game.
Seemed like a massive missed opportunity.
>Plays like a bitch
>Gives advice
Eat a dick faggot
Jump, deliberately get hit by the lightning then attack before landing to fuck him up. Alternatively, eat your eels.
>no summons
>no overleveling
>forced to parry everything
>no straights words
>no hidding behind a shield waiting for a whiff punish
And suddenly there's a million of shitters complaining that the game is too hard. You can't make this shit up. I didn't really care about the game that much, but all this salt is actually making me wanna give it a try.
I beat all souls games SL1 (obviously with no phantoms), never used shields in souls and this game is kicking my ass. Not even FRC Chalices fucked me this hard. I'm liking it.
Nothing. Genishiro for me is impossible. How do you even beat this guy?
Where were you when a new Odd World was just announced?
it feels tuned to encourage item and prosthetic use too, v nice
So does the bandit merchant move back to my shrine after I do his "quest" about finding out about the Samurai?
Since right now both vendors I have found (Near the dungeon & at the outskirts haven't moved).
Help vs Obey Order?
Firecrackers and sprinting round in circles.
It's basically a Dark Souls boss.
ye but it doesn't seem to be of much help compared to using it with the horseback fight right before it unless i'm somehow doing something wrong here
you can literally grind to get all skills
Do you even have to kill her?
>Game runs fine yesterday
>Hit a wall so take a break
>game runs like shit today
literally yes. I've few times cleared whole areas just by throwing shit at guards and then ledge or corner deathblowing them as they come. for some reason at least when ledge deathblowing you can take out whole groups of enemies one by one because even if an enemy sees you killing their comrades they will not give a shit.
By acquire skill
Seriously though, just don't be a pussy and go all out, counter when he attack and just keep pushing
I just beat her, definitely my favorite fight so far. Goddamn, I got in the zone, deflected nearly everything and didn't even give a chance to cast her illusions, I feel amazing. For sure she made the game come to life for me.
>handicaps himself trying to play the game the way they tell you, instead of finding the fastest optimal way to kill bosses
faggot
Ok guys, heres my full experience of this game thus far, I hope you enjoy.
>Finish tutorial run outside into grand japan land world
>Get killed my random mook because I didn't deflect his attack properly.
>Spend an hour or two clawing my way to the ogre on the stairs, get the bell.
>Decide to give the bell to buddah before killing the ogre
>Which buddah????
>spend about 3 hours looking around at the bonfire buddahs, the offering buddah, all the random buddah carvings all over the place
>cant find fucking buddah
>3 hours later find buddah in the fucking carving room in the corner.
>Hirata Estate
>First self contained area with a boss, determined to beat it and the boss.
>fight tooth and nail to the boss, die at least 100 times. Just impossible and unfair, but I persevere, Everyone I've never met is dying of rot, but still I go on, this boss MUST DIE.
>finally I release as I slay the boss, haha FUCK YOU SPEAR GUY
>wait wut, theres a whole other half of this level???
>spear guy is just some random mook
>continue forward, im pretty good by now, with the monumental task of defeating spear guy behind me I am invincible.
>easily make it to the boss, oh shit its an actual boss now
>accidentally went into the boss with a revive used and no flask
>Kill her first try
?????????
So, seriously when I say that spear guy is the hardest boss in the game I am not joking, if you can beat spear guy, you've beaten the game, the game doesn't have anything left to throw at you, later on theres some other guy with a spear but hes a pushover, anyway theres this guitar playing bitch later on that was fucking impossible and made me want to die too, and I was sure she was a boss, but she was just also the halfway point midboss to a literal joke of a main boss.
I'm on Mt. Kongo now, is anyone else any further along? Anything particularly frustrating coming up?
Image unrelated.
Should I buy Sekiro now, or wait for the GOTY edition with the DLC?
AAAHHHHHHH STOP SAYING THE M WORD
>handicaps himself
>plays the game the way they tell you
are you braindead
>even if you play on keyboard you'll see xbox controls
What the fuck? Anyone got a list with what button is each?
It’s really good. Tbqh it’s not really the style of action game I’m a fan of but I like that From are finally doing something different again after a decade of Demon’s Souls rehashes. I respect the vision the game has and while it’s not one I see myself replaying as often as their RPGs I think Miyazaki and the crew are infinitely based for outing the majority of Yea Forums as casuals.
8/10
What mook?
mada mada
MMMMMMMMMMMY NAMMMMMEEEEE
Hope you're ready for this faggotry to become the standard.
>you didn't kill the drunkard by running up to him in the open without killing his guards first? then you didn't actually play the game
>you bought the spear parry? then the run doesn't count
>you attacked the boss while he was RPing? you're casual
The Rock paper scissors mechanic is retarded
I love the parry system let me parry anything and everything
How THE FUCK do I beat that spear nigger at the estate?
If you had the dodge counter ability (forget the name) for thrust attacks, spears are much easier.
Maybe it references the Serpents from Dark Souls Lore, though I recall them being named differently, so I might be wrong
forgive me but I don't believe you beat lady butterfly with no flasks or ressurrects.
He's right, just doubling hp would make the game more enjoyable. Probably an easy config edit you can do yourself though
I just killed a headless in the mist village and got "gachiins spiritfall" I accidentally closed the tool tip and can't find it in my inventory or skills. What is it? It said I could use spirit emblems with it.
i pressed help and i just told me that i needed to obey the iron code, is there a way to make it so you aren't forced into the iron code?
Any tips for Snake eyes besides poison?
OK guys, I thin I'm supposed to beat Genichiro now, but for the love of God, I cant fucking do it. I just went full metroidvania style and have 4 beads now, but still cant beat his third phase. This faggot is such a damage sponge, I keep messing up, because the fight takes too long. Is there an easier boss somwhere, so I could get his memory? Only beaten the horse guy and kunoichi granny so far.
I reach the last phase but then die there. But not all the times I can reach the last phase. I really don't know what to do. I am thinking just to drop the game at this point.
Devs are lazy
RIP XXX TENTACION
HE WOULDA LOVED THIS GAME BRO
GONE TOO SOON
first of all, you're fucking retarded if it took you 3 hours to realize the buddha was back at the sculptors
secondly nice lie saying you beat lady butterfly on one try with zero flasks when you were wrecked shittless by shinobi hunter
thirdly nice blog faggot
I don't see why not, All you do is run around in a circle, she can never catch you and you have infinite stamina. Whenever she does one of her attacks with a long rest after you turn back around and slap her. None of her daggers will ever hit you. None of her spirits will ever catch you. None of the spirit light bulbs w.e will ever hit you either.
Go back and try it some time, you can actually do it with almost every boss in the game that's even vaugley humanoid.
You're literally trying to parry a boss they tell you not to until low health. It achieves nothing and wastes time. It's much faster running, dodging and attacking after she does to take her health down.
Which one
Guys where do I go after I beat lady butterfly and horseguy? I've been searching for like 5 hours found temple location a cleared it until the bridge with armored warrior and also found frosty locations with many snipers can't progress either way much since feeling underlvled... Where is this genichiro guy you are talking about?
oh shit nvm I found it. It's a reuseable Gachiin sugar, but uses 4 spirit emblems. That's pretty sweet, I hope there is one for the defense and attack sugars.
i think you could beat the ape first but i don't think its worth the effort. just tough it out against genichiro. learn his third phase moves and give him a wallop.
There’s an option in the menu to change that
i found his third phase easier than his first two since he stops his annoying fucking instant bow attacks and only uses it to shoot lightning which has a HUGE windup and easily dodgeable.
Game is pretty good, why Yea Forums hates it? Except ogre with retarded grab box, others bosses for now felt pretty fair
No, it's not
There literally giant snake enemy/boss you need to avoid half of level
Fuck pc fags forcing everything to be "muh dark souls reference"
fuck off nigger faggot
The game tells you to dodge and counter her tho. It specifically brings up a menu before her boss fight telling you this.
Oh I just found it, thanks.
You can get some sort of dodge mist thing? Where is it? Looks sick
I haven't beatend butterfly yet but horse guy is a joke, you can deflect everything he does
Are you making sure to mikiri his divebomb stab and deliberately getting hit by his lightning in mid-air and attacking before you hit the ground to fuck his shit up?
The one in the snow valley you have to jump to.
there is one for the attack sugar, its on another headless that is located in the outskirts. go to the area where you fought odachi general guy RIGHT before the broken bridge where you jumped down into the valley, and along the right hand side youll find a path down to a hut with a warning letter. jump on the tree then look for a handhold on the cliff to jump to and just keep going and you'll find it.
it also opens out to that locked door in the gatehouse.
I had to go and clear all of Ashina Outskirts and a little bit of Ashina castle before coming back to beat that cunt. What you wanna do is kill all the mooks in the area then run away so he loses aggro. Once he’s calmed down, sneak up on him in the bushes and fuck him in the ass to clear his first health bar. The second phase is really damn hard if you have low health but the Mikiri Counter skill trivialises it once you get the timing down.
1st phase: just attack him and counter after every ding sound, if he jump up to bow you just guard.
His red move is always thrust at this phase so mikiri his ass.
2nd phase: like 1st phase but his red move will be sweeping most of the time so jump.
Final phase: everything above, shit ton of red move that you need to jump or mikiri.
The key here is to jump when he about to lightning you, then press RB after that to counter.
get rid of his friends, sneak attack to take one tick off, then just go ham.
The attack one is at in the first area of the game so you can get it pretty early, but you really have to git gud because at that point you have no upgrades.
raven mist feathers, you get them at the bamboo slope in hirata estate.
hug the left side, jump down into the pool, swim up the river then grapple up. run past purple ninja dude, open the door, grab the tool and fuck off.
Stay close, run circles around it, firecrackers its face, go in for a charged attack, repeat
You need go into the castle after killing horse guy. There's an optional miniboss general on the steps surrounded by 4 musket dudes. Your objective is to go on top of the buildings and get into the castle antechamber. From there you just explore and you will find genichiro.
so what's the gimmick to corrupted monk? deflecting the boss did fuck all so I just ran around like a retard getting free hits whenever possible. took like 10min and didn't feel like it was the intended way.
T H R U S T D E F L E C T
Yo where are all the cute girls Yea Forums? The only ones I've seen so far are Emma, Kuro, and O'rin. What the fuck From?
what a little baby back bitch
After I beat Lady Butterfly am I done with the Hirata Estate?
cool thanks. Has anyone killed that mage dude, does he give sugar?
Where are you supposed to go in the beginning of the game? I just beat the Butterfly lady, she's supposed to be the first boss right?
Didn't know you can mikiri his dive thrust. Does it work with any lightning attack?
Do I do Mt. Kongou first or Ashina proper?
This. Deflecting their attacks feels so good, then you get this bullshit grabs that you can only dodge.
I love enemies that have fast combos and deflecting every one, it's like playing a rhythm game. Then they suddenly do this unavoidable grab and smash you. Anyone saying "just dodge bro lol" is talking out their ass. I dodged early, still got grabbed. Dodged a bit later still got grabbed. Dodged left, right, back, still got grabbed. Why go to the effort of making this cool posture system when half of the enemies attacked you can't even deflect or counter.
I CAN'T FUCKING DO THIS
AAAAAAAAAA
How do you get by the snake in the after the poison monkey swamp in the ghost area? he's protecting the entire road and as soon a you rope over the one shots you
ashina is before kongou in terms of storyline but there's onthing stopping you from beating kongou. i did that area way before i had to as well.
just remember where the monk NPC who you can talk to but he doesnt say anything is. that area will be important later.
she's a pain, but doesn't have high health/posture, just gotta take it slow.
put her up against a wall or better yet trap her and she will only do her kick move
The only cute girl From ever had was Herald. Everything else is forced memes
Run past her, rest at the next Sculpture, then make your way backwards through the level to clear out mobs and get a stealth attack on her. Poison her then do the attack -> deflect ->attack dance. Alternatively, Puppeteer Ninjutsu any enemies with line of sight on her for temporary ranged support.
Dis fuckin bitch, I spent like 45 minutes on her. Do constant jump kick attacks to fuck her up, she can hardly hit you if you do that.
There's another one of these in the depths, have fun.
>Kuro
>cute girl
Uhhhh.
Should we tell him?
no
The tracking on her fun shot is just insane.
Get the shinobi dodge skill that lets you step dodge when he thrust attacks. The window it gives you is huge, even better than deflecting and it destroys their posture.
You literally step on his spear and fucking push sword in his throat
Spear enemies one of the easiest because of that
Ninja hunter not exception
>The second phase is really damn hard if you have low health
No, it's not
How the fuck you killed ogre but find him hard?
do yourself a favor and stop trying to dodge grabs.
instead, either jump over the enemy or sprint away. some enemies like emma you can just sprint past them while they are charging a red kanji and smack them in the back.
Just jump lol
>Kuro
lad...
The false Divine Child of Rejuvenating Waters or whatever the fuck is cute.
When I fought the bull I didn't have firecrackers, I took a lot of damage unnecessarily because I respected that bosses space too much and was too concerned with trying to get a comfortable range to watch it. The horse has a turn radius, if you are running in a circle towards his ass, I promise he will never be able to catch you because your tighter turn ratio offputs his slightly faster speed. Remember that you have no stamina, so you can run and run and run and whenever you think it's a good time you can slap the horses ass once or twice. None of his attacks are particularly threatening once you've got the cycle down and you are running in circles with him, Don't get greedy and the boss will go down easy.
If you do have fireworks you can use them near the end if you want, honestly I personally found that getting to his front to fire cracker the horse ended with me taking damage and all it did was enable to me to hit the horse 2-3 times, but I could already do that just by the run in circles method.
man call me a big pussy all you want but i am super afraid of snakes and that big ass snake makes me never want to touch this game ever again
The horse lord is probably the first intended boss because of his damage values.
>havent found a single high end material for prosthetics
>just beat ape
am i like, not far enough or what?
I'm autistic about getting the good ending in games, and this is causing an issue for me because I'm not terribly great at these games and I expect to die a lot.
Am I going to have to Alt+f4 every time I die? Or is the system fairly forgiving?
are you talking about the one inside the dark cave who is guarding the rock bridge to the old shack?
not sure which area you're referring to here.
do you mean the one who is curled up on a big rock next to a rope bridge?
Run past her? It feels like there's nowhere to go in her arena.
you're a big pussy
You're gonna have to stop being autistic
Poison her with Sabimaru for huge posture gains
>Am I going to have to Alt+f4 every time I die?
have you ever played a souls game in your life you dumbass
Ogre moves are easier to telegraph. Naginata Nigger is harder to read
you have to press the iron code one because then the young lord tells you to help him, it's pretty kino.i'm sure there's an actual choice later on though
Just complete the game, then watch the good end on youtube and make it head-canon
only 9 areas what a shit game!!!
i kid. most of the areas are rather good. ashina castle feels like the standout but fountainhead palace and mt kongo certainly werent bad.
Yup, EZ posture damage once I figured that out.
Any lighting attack he throws at you, you jump, get hit, then press R1 before you touch the ground.
what the fuck Yea Forums? why is horse guy THIS MUCH EASIER than damn ogre I spent 3 hours on? horse falls 1st try.
No, it tells you that she will not take posture damage unless her health is low. Deflecting is a waste of time when you can be getting twice as many attacks in just sprinting and dodging.
basically yes.
you'r eclose though.
holy fucking shit fuck chained ogres hitboxes I can fucking believe that from put this in the game
there is
it gets pretty dark if you pick the wrong one
The tool tip literally talks about side stepping and counter attacking, user, it literally tells you to dodge
what the fuck do you do to beat the great carp
What the fuck does that mean? Of course I have, but this is the first game to have a dragonrot mechanic.
Do you see that monkey down to the left? Puppeteer Ninjutsu it, then take advantage of the distraction to rope over and go into the Shrine.
>beat her first phase, thinking it was over
>NOPE, fucking illusions up the wazoo and I get buttfucked
Just get the flamevent for the ogre you autists.
Stop spoiling emma boss its very rude
dragonrot mechanic means literally nothing in terms of game ending. its a total red herring.
I agree the grab on the ogre is pretty fucked up, thankfully in the 20 hours ive played after that the rest of the bosses/enemies seemed good. Its just that one enemy.
can i buy divine confetti because i'm at attack power 6 but i haven't beaten headless or the terror beast down in the hole but i want to beat em both, but i only have 5 confetti
possess the monkey with puppetmaster ninjutsu. the monkey is to the left of the huggable marked wall at the end of the cave.
You can cure the dragon rot unless you are EXCEPTIONALLY SHITTY. (or exceptionally unlucky)
You just need one npc you can actually reach to get infected, then beat the first boss of the game to unlock unlimited cures. Each cure cures ALL INFECTED NPC and only costs 180 good boy points.
If you let npc die its your own fault and you are kinda stupid.
I'm afraid to even think that you think about drunk guy in hirata
as long as you don't die die you are good, using the respawn mechanic doesn't effect it.
But the tutorial specifically says the only way to avoid grabs is to dodge. It says jumping is for sweeps.
And what happens if you alt+f4 after dying? Does it invalidate the death?
holy fug i wasn't paying complete attention to the kill animation for the ape's first phase so i was like "my sword is on my back so why is it also in the ground and why is it so big?" and then he came back to life and had creepy as phuck animations and scared me
if you have a snap seed, use it close to illusions and itll dispel them. she herself is actually weaker during this phase.
Yes you are dodging by jumping over the grab.
>give Emma some sake
>she shyly comments on how you just awkwardly stare at her drink
Why is Wolf suck a fucking autist lads?
How do I into that feather dodge prosthetic? Feels like the activation time takes forever.
How can I beat General Karawada?
No matter what I do he just wrecks me...
its lying to you.
grab hitboxes are outrageously stupid. just fucking jump.
or better yet, dodge when you see the kanji and immediately jump then sprint off when you land.
To your left there's a ledge you can jump up on and sidle across. You can see it here
>get hit by 1 (one) ogre attack entire fight right before he's dead
>its the throw off a cliff
CUTE SNEK
>tfw gave Ishinn the monkey brew you get at the temple
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i didn't know it was ONE UUUUSE
How do I use the feather prosthetic? Feels like the activation time takes forever so you can't use it instantly after enemy initiates an attack animation.
>tfw always die and lose my money
>tfw when never have money to buy shit
>tfw unseen aid hardly ever triggers bullshit 30% chance
>tfw I slowly build up money then lose it all fighting the boss of the area
maybe the fact that hes spent his whole developmental period from a young child in harsh martial and ninja training then as an adult killing people over and over again has eroded his social skills somewhat
you use a better tool. seriously th efeathers suck
/ourshinobi/
I'm gonna marry the snek
Extreme casual.
You literally have a free revive if you die that has you start combat in the same encounter, this can go up to 3 revives with upgrades.
Once you get upgrades rolling and if you've explored enough then after Genichiro the game becomes much much easier.
This is just another case of the game being hard in the first part, just like Bloodborne kicked the shit in of so many people in the first area and fighting Gascoigne.
Pretty great how they went back to the PS1 era for inspiration. I sense the Tenchu vibes. I sense the Soul Reaver 2 vibes as well.
>hold square to absorb coins
Lovely.
How am I supposed to beat Genichiro phase 2? He literally oneshots me with lightning and I have no idea what to do. His 1sf phase I ace with no damage but phase 2 Jesus fuck
Doll beats her by a large margin
Does the drunkard's grab have an identical windup to the sweep or does it just turn into a normal swipe if the grab misses?
Because I could not tell the difference between the 2.
you get more later calm down fag.
farm money then go to a merchant and buy coin bags to 'bank' your cash for later.
chase him while running to stay behind him when he charges and if let him charge straight at you just use the arena walls to walljump behind him. slap his left ass cheek few times and when he tries to turn dodge behind his right ass cheek and slap that, slap his ass and stay behind him as long as you can. rinse and repeat. also firecrackers are good when he charges
>mini bosses are harder than actual bosses
at least the bosses are kino af but so far theyve all gone down within a few attempts
you can give people other then the sculptor a drink?
It's not the same, unless you actually get excess alcohol for the NPCs, at least 1
>have 3 orb things on my bar
>their all full pink
>get killed
>revive
>get killed again
>suddenly cant revive
explain this to me
How do you get the item in the water well right at the beginning? Doesn't seem like you can climb the wall
OH NO
10/10 when the game flows smoothly, otherwise it's a 6/10
The biggest problem Sekiro has is that the game is full of jank. You can play Simon Says perfectly during boss fights but still get fucked if they glitch off geometry or if they make a close pass and confuse the camera. Sometimes you can hide standing in front of enemies in daylight but be spotted in pitch black dark by a thief from 200 ft away.
The second biggest problem is the lack of direction. Yea Forums memes about quest objectives, but there are certain items that you literally need to have to progress found off the beaten path, otherwise you're just wasting your time.
What prosthetics do you guys use the most. Spear seems the most useful to me, especially the running thrust attack.
The lighting one shots me.
Tried, but I have as always problems in the 2nd dot.
first you must beat the elite
jump when he does a lightning attack so the lightning hits you midair then R1 on the way down to zap him with his own lightning
assuming you have the technique for it. which you should since its on the way to him and is REALLY OBVIOUS.
who what where is the ninja hunter?
Im at the genichiro now and Ive just skipped the headless since confetti
you'll be back
>he didn't give Emma the monkey brew
She has the same backstory as you, except she was raised by Monkey instead of Owl
I like using it after counterattacks where I know the enemy's going to strike back and I want to get another hit on them instead of parrying. It's also stylish as hell.
jump and attack when you see a lighting attack and do that meme counter when you start off the second phase then you should be good
Bloodborne was considerably easier from the beginning. It was also considerably more fun. If you like dying in two hits and getting to walk back and kill a billion thugs every time you wanna try again, fine, congratulations. I can bash my head against a wall and come out on top too, but this is not fun. You're defending shit design for the sake of "muh gamer pride".
Exact same experience.
I had a good grip on the deflect system, but I played against Genichiro very passively and always dodged when he laid the pressure on. Then one of my tries I said fuck it and went super aggressive and realized the whole game is meant to be played like that, it was MUCH easier, I got him to his third phase and almost killed him there too.
Then it was just a couple of more tries and I downed him and it was pure fucking hype. Genichiro is an amazing boss.
there is a cooldown between revives which is reduced by killing enemies, even if you have a orb you cannot be revived instantly after a revive. this is all explained ingame somewhere I think
Theres a cheap consumable item that turns off the limiter on your revive. You can also get it back by killing a bar of a big enemy, or by killing like 2-3 normal enemies.
I did way the back killing everything and...
She has her back against a wall, how did you backstab her? I tried to squeeze but it's impossible
Ps4 player? All you had to do was long press the share button to save your last several minutes of gameplay. Then go back to watch for that tip menu. Then delete the vid to save space.
Oh wait..... you're a retard PC user...
you're just being retarded and stupid user. ranged npcs with guns and bows have huge sight ranges. so do ninjas on rooftops.
and the npcs literally TELL YOU where to go to get what you need. read your fucking documents.
i consider myself to be of subpar intelligence and i had no trouble figuring out where to go
do attack boosts effect bosses that much? has someone saved Butterfly for later in the game and steamrolled her in a few hits or what?
bros?
How do I time the feather prosthetic? Activation time takes forever so using it as the enemy starts his attack animation seems to fuck me up every time.
Seven Spear? If you Rafiki counter him and perfect parry his next attack he falls over and you get two seconds of free hits.
The Dragonrot will intensify if i ressurect or just dying will do it? I see no point in choosing death over ressurecting if dying will spread the rot anyway
The fuck how did you get a map?
firecrackers is by FAR the best and most versatile tool.
but all my orbs are full. whtas the point of having multiple revives if you cant just revive when your fucking orbs are full. its nearly impossible to actually die to random mooks, so the only time you need them are on bosses or minibosses where there isnt enough time in between revives for it to come off cd.
The game literally tells you how all of this shit works in huge tutorial pop ups.
Lower her health and posture starts going up more easily.
You have multiple openings to get hp hits in, and hp hits always hit hard on bosses especially so it doesn't take long.
Use the Shuriken prosthetic because when she jumps in the air from the strings you can throw it at her and knock her out stunning her for just a little bit.
So is it even possible to kill the headless when you meet him?
His inconsistent slow to fast to slow attacks are annoying af
Lady butterfly isn't that hard at all. the most dangerous part is all the energy projectile shit she does in the second phase. Key is to be on the defensive when all she summons all her minions, but be very aggressive the rest of the time. I parried her shit by just spamming l1
user is not just being retarded, I remember aggroing an underwater carp and sill having the marker up when fighting the boss three miles later,
or getting seen by a turkey on the other side of a mountain.
sometimes enemies randomly just notice you and its kinda strange.
yes attack increases matter.
How many fucking Headless are there in the game? I've seen like three so far.
You aren't supposed to just stand there and parry all of her shit. Get aggressive and kick her shit in. Get some damage on and just keep attacking, only deflect when she counters.
Thanks for correcting inadvertently. I forgot about Maria, which is definitely cute, even more than Herald.
I think I'm doing the game out of sequence, but I can't tell.
I went from Ashina Outskirts, to Oniwa the Horsefag, and now I'm fighting Genichiro with his second Lightning phase and getting my ass kicked by the zappy phase. I think I missed some shit.
I got him to half health, that was my best attempt at the time until i ran out of confetti. I had no vit/atk upgrades at the time though.
Thats literally the first miniboss, parry his attacks and jump his sweeps. You can even get a sneak attack in to take an entire orb off his health before starting the fight.
Now thats not to say its easy when you are just starting the game and learning the mechanics. Took me about 5 tries.
It's possible but theres not really any reason to right then.
with one attack boost you can beat it comfortably with 2 of the confetti.
if you find him at the beginning of the game then no he simply isn't possible since you have no relaxing potion to counter terror build up (which instant kills you).
Is the game more like Ninja Gaiden than what the soulstards hoped for?
What the fuck do you do against centipede? I deflect my posture goes to shit, I dodge he just catches me, I jump he gives no fucks.
i really don't know if you're trolling, but Samurai enemies are extremely straightforward - all the Samurai bosses have very hard hitting but very choreographed attacks - all I can say is parry his attacks, go in when he's a little winded from your parries, and avoid his grab (if he has one, i dont think he does) and boom.
If you get the bell from the old woman near the start you can go to one of your memories (a new area)
Why does the Divine Dragon only have one arm? Is this some 2deep4u pottery or is there more to it?
Read at your own peril.
nope, thats about right. after this you'll go to sunken valley and the bottomless (but not quite) hole.
It's like Dark Souls meets Metal Gear Rising.
Stupid ass lazy American gamer faggots. I'm sure you need to put in more effort than what you're expecting to achieve by pressing one button to "do everything for you". I LOVE games like this to see you faggots cry.
my question is how the fuck do I kill them, I NOPE'd the fuck out when the first one I encountered ripped my skull through my ass and instakilled me, should I be able to kill these fuckers if I've beaten genichiro in ashina tower?
im not crying, im saying the hitboxes on the grab are massive and dodging is unreliable in avoiding them, so i started jumping to avoid them.
You are going to get a lot of memers telling you to just be better, but heres an actual helpful hint for you. Just... RUN.
Seriously I promise you, hold your sprint button and run in a circle, run and run and realize... she cant hit you as long as you are running.
It may take a few tries but eventually you'll get a feel for which of her moves are forgiving enough for you to get in and slip in a blow or two. You can chip off some hp and then her posture will be much easier to break, or you can just keep doing that till shes dead, honestly its not that much faster to try to do posture break then it is to just chip her to death.
>ranged npcs with guns and bows have huge sight ranges.
In the dark? From three blocks away? Seeing me behind obstacles? Nevermind that this shit never happens in the DAY, or that the game refuses to tell me who's spotting me half the time.
I wish this game would make up it's mind about being a stealth or an action game. Or at the very least I would like you to stop being a tremendous defense force faggot.
How in the fuck am I meant to beat Genichiro then? I only have 5 flask doses and it takes like 5 minutes to break his posture.
no shiny ninja butts
I give it 0/5
Get the confetti nigga.
you need divine confetti and relaxing potions. confetti properly wrecks their shit and their posture, relaxing stops them from killing oyu with terror.
attack sugar optional but encouraged..
Nothing the 2nd phase of Genichiro is impossible.
Ceramic shard her away from it. If you're careful, she'll be yellow instead of red alertness. When she walks back, backstab her.
You have to use the confetti item to do reliable damage. Also need the item that resists and lowers terror.
The requirements on Steam seem relatively low, can toasters run this smoothly?
Where do I get the Key to unlock the door behind the long arm guy in Gun Fort? I went underneath the floorboards but it seems like it's a dead end.
Who knows, seems to be a recurring theme shared by many npcs and bosses.
Anyone know where all the headless are? Theres one in Ashina outskirts and one in hidden forests but I can't find the rest.
Send his zappy bullshit back at him.
use thrust attacks (hold R1), they are unblockable, to damage his hp.
take advantage of his autist little 'im gonna run in a big circle and sweep you' shit to get some hits in on his HP so his posture stops recovering so fast.
then play the parry game.
on last phase, when he throws lightning, jump so it hits you midair then R1 to throw it back at him
alternatively, spam firecrackers and ash.
Had to make a map of sorts so I can keep track of where I'm stuck.
This game is amazing when it's not kicking my ass. I still can't reliably parry spears or big dudes.
*blocks your fucking path*
bump
thanks lads, I got the confetti, didn't know about terror resist
Do you get some kind of buff if you have 3 (the maximum) pellets on you? Thats kinda what the description implies.
as far as i know, those are the only two.
you get the key later, when Kuro opens the library near his room.
be aggressive
mash attack and deflect when he tries to counter
lightning phase do the same shit and just dash under/behind when he goes for the lightning attack
ezpz
Theres 1 in the abandoned dungeon, and 1 in the Mt Kongo area
HOW THE FUCK DO I KILL THE SNAKE/CENTIPEDE MONK? I stabbed him to death and he came back.
be aware that armored knight is NOT weak to spear. i dont know why so many people think this. the tooltip says it works on POORLY FITTING armor aka not what knight has.
what is the exact parry timing? the moment the strike hits?
you can't permanently kill them or other infested enemies until later when you get a special weapon for it.
*naruto run past*
STOP
BUTTON
MASHING
YOU YOUNG FUCKING FAGGOT. I'm sure ALL of the From Software dev's prayed to God and JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF to BLESS this game so all the retards can fuck off back to the Nintendo Switch
This fight was tough for me until I learned to just sprint.
Do not dodge, just hold the sprint button down and run instead. Nothing will ever hit you and you can get quick hit and run attacks in. Eventually he can also stagger if you get enough attacks him and if you get a lot in the same combo then he can even fall on his back and you can just wail on it.
>wasted 3 divine confetti and anti-terror power on headless
>only 2 left of each now
>attack power 6
I literally kill most of bosses in one or two tries max but I whiffed him THAT fucking hard? It's time for sleep, jesus what is wrong with me
The Knight's deathblow doesn't kill him but knocks him back pretty far. You're on a bridge with destructible walls.
Kind of ruined it for me. Isn't that thing supposed to be majestic? Instead it's pale and gimped. Really cool visuals though.
He is a western knight in Japanese fantasy. Its poorly fitting armor.
i presume four or five. the quantity of them has to equal the number of types of sugar.
My only problem with this is that I feel like there are way too many fucking shrines in the game.
This. The axe if I recall still does a good amount of posture damage to him though.
>red kanji
>uh oh a grab coming, better dodge immediately!
>dodge to the size, he magnetizes on to me and grabs
>here comes another one
>ill wait a moment this time
>wait for him to start he lunge, then dodge
>he magnetizes onto me and grabs me
yeah no. sekiros grabs are legit the only bullshit thing about the game but fuck me they are total bullshit with the tracking. when i see red kanji and i know its a grab, i just sprint backwards to outrange it now.
Ashina Depths
The pond behind Ashina Castle
The lake in Fountainhead Palace
The game got way easier once I realized the dodge button is a meme and you should just jump instead.
slightly boosts how much you gourd heals you.
Thank you, that did the trick. Sabimaru realy helps with 1st phase, as it can poison Genichiro through guard and it does big vitality damage, so breaking his posture becomes really easy. The guy can be poisoned two times, so it takes care of his first two health bars.
I wish jumping didnt feel so delayed and awkward.
how is that a bad thing it helps you teleport around
>killed these three no biggie first time in the area
>didn't know ishinn was right above me
wish i talked to him before Genchiro
good post
it isnt. in fact its a not so subtle jab at how shitty jap armor is since hes fucking invincible to normal attacks.
IS
MLGS
IN
THE
GAME
Senpou temple.
This is it.
>The game isn't actually as hard as people make it out to be if you're not afraid to time your parries and go on the offensive when it's needed
This is exactly it. I played somewhat like that, but was still passive and dodging, then Genichiro forced me to play like this if I wanted to defeat him, and then it clicked for me, ALL of the game should be played like this. Now it's about as tough as the first time I played Demon's Souls way back when it was my first souls game.
4
where is the poor fitting armor boss? has ANYONE found him? those two fags on the bridge talk about him in Ashina Castle's first area.
Finally beat this old hag. First phase is simple shuriken spam. Second phase is just breaking her posture because she likes to spam her flurry which is easy to parry and do the jump thing on. Fuck. I had to git gud.
you cant talk to him before, the tower is closed off.
I did find him later on but I don't have confetti or the Terror cure thing
Is there anything else at all that deals any kind of damage to him, or do I literally need to Deflect every single hit perfectly?
the window for it is bigger than it seems, parry just before the attack connects but remember to hold the block button until you get the parry. I got a lot better at parrying just by timing it a bit earlier and remembering to hold it until attack connects
neat
didnt even notice because i never use the pellets
there isnt a boss with 'poor fitting armor'. some of the big ogre dudes with clubs or bells will wear breastplates and shit like that those, THOSE you can tear off with the spear.
>Felt proud that I did her in 1 try even though I got hit a few times at the start of battle trying to learn her patterns
>She has a second phase
>Panic and got my ass kicked
Hope I can get her on the second try tomorrow.
The lightning attacks you have to jump in the air and get hit and press R1 to do lightning reversal.
If you get hit in Mid-Air and press R1 then you send the lightning back at him and stun for for a good while so you can get damage in.
Once I did this his last phase became the easiest part of the boss for me.
Also, get extremely aggressive. Genichiro is the pleb filter that forces you to learn how the game is actually played. You have to wail on him and go all out then only deflect when he tries to counter, you can't just sit and wait.
They're talking about the fat dude on the other side of the bridge with the bell. He has armor on front.
Hard to say what's going on on the screen with all these effects. Guess if I didn't die instantly but lost some health it wasn't successful?
Is there a shrine by Shinobi Hunter? I have to run so far to fight him after I die :(
Yeah, no.
Theres more than 4
you can deal some damage with your sword but its heavily reduced. tools like fire work though.
Remember to sneak attack him to get one of his lives gone before the fight. You can do this for most minibosses
Aw fuck, I jumped on top of him, fuck. I was thinking it was a damn boss.
Go kys you elitist mustard race faggot
>nip mlgs
BASED
Can anyone point me a direction I can go? I've done the memory with the ninja granny. I've went all the way up the monastery to the main chamber with a bunch of immortal centipede guys, there's only one door that doesn't open from that side. I went all around the castle and killed a miniboss witt a spear at the building form the tutorial. I've got a headless guy unkilled, but there are no paths he's guarding I haven't been to. I am yet to kill the magician boss underground, even though I've found at least two different paths to him, and I have no idea how to fight him because there's a billion orbs I can't block or do anything about.
This is the first time I've ever been stuck in a souls-like games.
It's not that hard desu, I can totally believe it.
First time I fought her I almost killed her in the last phase before I died.
It reminds me of jumping in MGR so I'm used to it.
How do I set the sword on fire with the flame vent like in the demo?
no, but there's one right after you kill him :)
So one for each candy, and then what do the others drop? I've only encountered 4 currently.
where can i buy more confetti and powder!!!
Is Emma's aroma worth it?
Yeah there's one near him. After the fog gate.
Go slam your head in against the horse boss. Drunkard is moving in slo mo in comparison. Remember to block
man that looks fucking stupid
Its actually more like a stormruler.
>Local man is fucking invincible
get to the top of the castle
Have you killed the dude on the horse? He's after the snek
I hate monkeys.
soo the sculptor has immortality like sekiro his commants about how the dragonrot wont kill him seem to push that
Trying it now and he terror's me in 3 blocked hits (2 if I don't block)
Sword even with fire and the red sugar candy do barely any damage, his posture of course is unmoving
Guess I need to try again when I find more confetti
Did you do the sunken area? The path to its at the back of the main castle where you fought the lightning guy. You can just run past the guy underground if you cant kill him, use your arm to get by, thats the next area underground.
Teleport to the Antechamber in the Castle, in the side room with 2 of those blue samurai dudes there's a hole in the ceiling.
Dragonrot doesn't really do anything besides block questlines. You can cure it throughout the game multiple times with easy to come by consumable items.
get to the top of the castle.
also for the magician miniboss (shinimen warriors), you need divine confetti. lets you pop the orbs with an attack and it fucks him up when you hit him. when he goes invis after you combo him dont follow him or you'll die. also you can deflect laser attack with confetti.
I just came back later and it was easy. Getting good when I first got there seemed like a bit much.
Really liking how the game teachings you how to play it
How? I can't climb it and I only saw the front door to it which is blocked.
no it changes appearance you get yellow eyes and the white stuff spreads
Do you get infinite pellets from merchants later on?
Seems weird since I have nothing to spend my money on and it seems like a huge waste losing half of them when I die twiceâ„¢.
ayup. go find confetti and relaxing potion to counter terror.
there are 3 confettis at the end of hirata estate, and you can farm them rarely off blue samurai in the ashina castle. use an orb of possessions.
that sword is like the one in okami
You need to get the skill to do it, its the last skill in the first tree, I think.
>FEEL THE WRATH OF THE JAPAN!
>CRUSH YOU LIKE GODDAMN BUG!
>SO YOU LIKE PLAYIN' HIDE-AND-SEEK, Y'LITTLE BITCH?
Wow, why is the writing in this game so different for the other games from this developer?
Divine Confetti is really the only way. There's also a gourd you can buy in the Ashiri Depths that will remove your current Terror build up and reduces incoming terror. Comes with 5 uses by default and recharges automatically at idols. Very useful for Headless.
>shit design
But I'm not having a frustrating time at all, because I know how to play the game and realized it's completely different in the way you have to about it compared to other games.
This is purely a case of you being shit at the game and blaming it on the game instead of your skill like some 12 year old who's mad because he lost in a fighting game locally and blamed it on lag.
from the roof. i believe you can get on the roof starting from the set of roofs on the right side on the base level of the area.
someone post a picture of the monkey horde
so you fuckers using dub or original jap voice acting?
DSP is an actual confirmed retard though.
It's the final skill in the Prosthetic Limb skill tree which combines with the Flame Vent.
JP then EN on NG+.
just finished first playthrough with original jap voice with english subtitles, now doing second playthrough with english voices to compare.
The only bullshit grab in the entire game is the Ogre.
Thanks, found it.
see
no, they're pretty much all bullshit except for emma's
>Die to Butterfly probably 100 times
>Kill her
>She comes back with mobs
Uh help? Any advice?
Nip first then eng on a second playthrough. Anyone who does eng first is just plain wrong.
>JUST for the sake
it's not that hard, dude is a fag
Where do you get that ninjutsu?
How do I deal with the purple mage dude near the bottomless hole bonfire?
A skill in the prosthetic tree, it's the last skill in the tree.
The real question is can Sekiro beat Bloodborne?
>100 times
>to beat the first phase
holy fuck lol
my advice is go somewhere else and come back later
The one in the underground that shoots balls of terror gives you a dagger that converts health into talismans, I dont think its called headless even though it has the same terror shit and you need confetti against it.
I've killed madame butterfly and done lots of shit underground but don't know where the fuck I'm supposed to go now? Ashina castle is now snowy, is there somewhere unlocked here?
Doing dubs and watching other people that are using Jap VA (up to where I got)
Both a good quality I'd say, though one boss stands out to me in the english VA
>MY NAME
snap seed the mobs or run for a bit until the mobs disappear. fight butterfly after you've beat gyobu and have the attack damage bonus from his memory.
Snap Seeds which you can find in the valley where the big snek was will instantly destroy all illusions in a wide radius. If you're aggressive enough, and with a little bit of luck, you can prevent her from resummoning them.
you will end ip turning it back. the english voices are garbage and dont fit at all
whoever designed the boss rooms and camera needs to be executed
reminder that rebinding the parry to L2 makes it 500% easier
use snap seed when near illusion mobs to dispel them
if you dont have any, which you probably dont, kite her around the room until shes away then be REALLY aggressive at her. her second phase shes much weaker and slower and takes more damage/posture damage so just hammer away at her.
thats a shinimen warrior aka magician-dude.
Dub is awful. I am 80% certain they mistranslated the armored guy kid's name as Robert when it was legit supposed to be Roberto.
never mind, it's in senpou temple
the only area I haven't been to yet
Not Genchiro's either. Or the apes. Either of them.
I was already doing that. Also killed him but funnily enough, it was by actually dealing enough damage.
Attack once
Dodge to the side
Attack once
Dodge to the side
Repeat ad infinitum
Throw shurikens when she jumps on to the strings
Use snap seeds when she summons illusions
Granny is the only boss I have thus far beaten on my first attempt and the way things are going she might be the only one ever. I kind of hate this game.
i do not remember. hopefully someone else can help you out.
You're dying like a bitch just like anyone else, because it's hard as fuck and lying is free and easy on an anonymous image board. AT MOST you grinded it out to "gig gud" and here we have "muh pride" striking again with this worthless post.
I got bored of BB in like 2 hours and Sekiro has entertained me for 20 so far
What do you mean? Am I underleveled or something? I have 3 beads and feel like I've killed every boss I've come across (kinda bosses I guess, like the big drunk sumo guy with the scimitar). I leveled I think 3 times.
I think it's just a classic case of Engrish, because Robert is a western name.
>the monkey farts and throws shit your way
What in the actual fuck From. You can give us this boss but not a god damn Yuki-onna or something? O'rin doesn't count.
That's a Schichimen Warrior and isn't optional. Headless are the dude's with the purple swords and are all optional, or at least the 4 that I've found.
You can prevent her from spawning the illusion if you just as the 2nd phase starts go to around the same location where she starts the fight in, and slap the shit out of her as soon as she appears
Have you guys seen this video
Improving stats and having more hp pots helps but the main thing is experience which you'll gain fighting other(harder) enemies.
where can i get more fucking confetti?
nioh used up the yuki-onna quota already.
also nice trips
Valley with a snake? I think I skipped an area...
HOW
THE
FUCK
DO
I
BEAT
CENTIPEDE
GIRAFFE
not what I asked, but thanks for trying to start an us-vs-them flame war, kiddo
So when do I use the fresh and dried fruit connected to the giant snake?
You can buy it later when you assemble the mask
you can farm them from blue samurai in ashina castle.
Can I sneak attack the hinata estate big guy?
Quen oriented
The guy is wearing Portuguese armor, it's Sengoku Japan, and he shouts "Roberto" in the original (default) script. I am convinced it's supposed to be that way and the localization team assumed the same you did.
D E F L E C T
This has nothing to do with video games, very off-topic. I would hope other posters in this thread report this post.
Turn on the demon bell for additional drops when you farm blue samurai.
yes you did.
go back to the VERY BEGINNING AREA, the ashina outskirts, and go to the second generals area, the one where you went through the gatehouse to get to. go to the back to the broken bridge, then jump down the cliff to the left and follow the path.
you'll know when you're there.
centipede giraffe is literally a "can you deflect" test. just remember he has no other attacks besides his combo and a sweep, he has no thrusts or grabs. deflect his combo and hell usually sweep after, so jump it and kick him in the face for posture damage.
Jesus fucking christ, just beat him
perfect parries goes a long way + the sweep countered with dropkick
fuck that guy though jesus
fuck man i wish i knew. i spent several hours trying to find out whta to do with those and i just couldnt find anything ingame or online that tells you what to use them for so i started NG+ and they vanished.
hope someone says what they are for.
no
the drunkard? you can, but I had to aggro him, hide behind the buildings on the left side and the backstab him as he loses aggro and starts walking back to where he starts the fight
Nah, valley is required you just haven't found it yet because you haven't explored. Probably busy working on the memory area.
Jesus fucking christ this guy never stops
Those guys are literally deflect or die.
Haha the fuck, literally witcher 3 combat
post yfw the monkey fucking picks his head back up for phase 2
there's an item from a later place you can give to him
the drunkard? yeah
see posture sugar helps too on him
If you deflect his last attack you only get enough time for 2 attacks.
fuck the one-armed longsword guy in the well is. His little room is so fucking small and he just jumps around like a tick and constantly fucks the camera up against the wall and keeps me from seeing anything.
Also, his whole thing is
>dodge kicks because you can't effectively deflect them
and
>deflect sword strikes because it's the only way to deal damage of any kind
and I can't react fast enough to the attack type so my reactions are always guesses
That guy is definitely optional. Im way past that part and still havnt killed him.
Shit for real?
fun videogame xd
How do I "spirit away" the big monk dude after I've given him the white flower?
>Attacking when you have no posture
You asked for it. He always follows that up with an unblockable, all you have to do is jump over it and on top of him,
Ok I'll check it out
Yeah I just went back to the arm guy and I looked at his shrine and teleported. "Welp I guess this is where I'm supposed to go!"
Haha wtf, literally witcher 3 combat.
yup. thats the one enemy type i actively avoid. ran past all of them during the last segment of the game, fuck those dumb niggers.
i unironically turned on an infinite health cheat to get past the closed miniboss room where you fight 2 of those niggers at once.
oh and they both have 2 health pools.
and one poisons you in one hit
and they both grab
and they relentlessly mob you.
I fucking hate that monkey fuck, why they put in an endurance test boss in a game about pressuring your enemies is beyond me
Serious spoiler:You have to fight him again with a second monkey later
I'm not though, you really are just bad.
The worst part for me so far was spending 30 minutes on Genichiro.
You're literally just mad that you suck at the game and can't believe anyone doesn't so you blame it on the game instead like a petulant child.
Pretty sure he's not optional. You have to fight him in order to access the Ashiri Depths. It's only required to go down there much later in the game though you can go much earlier if you want.
use divine fan tool on him. press R2 once to charge it then R2 again while facing him to release.
It's hard to keep track of my stuff because for the sake of changing and nothing else, they put the stuff on the bottom instead of top it confuses me so much.
What can i buy with the money? I have 1500 and I'm scared to lose it.
Where is Corrupted Monk from the demo located? I got to Senpou Temple mainhall not-bonfire and I can't seem to go any forward, thematically he fits there as the ones in Senpou deviated from Buddha's path and him being a corrupted monk. I feel like I skipped it.
Also reusable divine confetti when to beat Headless and that curse spewing shit in Bottomless Hole?
hes optional, you can stealth past him with a stealth sugar. i did to avoid him cuz i had no confetti. as long as you dont aggro the mist walls dont pop up
See I tried using the Divine Fan and all I got was this aura effect so I assumed that I was just reading too much into the description. Thanks.
You can go to Ashina depths without fighting him.
After trying Genichiro for almost 10 hours, I call it quit. At this point I'll just get a trainer to continue the game or I'll drop it completely. If I am stuck at the 3rd boss for this long I don't want to imagine the rest of the game.
Well, lucky you that you're so good and are having a nice time, you god gamer. Enjoy it then.
What do I use the Precious Bait for?
Is it really the hard mode bell? Do I fight the god damn bell demon?
corrupted monk actually isnt in the game like he was in the demo.
a ghost version of him is located at the very bottom of the depths as the final boss but its much weaker than the demo boss was.
also there is no reusable confetti you have to farm it. gay i know. theres an endgame upgrade for flame vent to give it purple fire that fucks up spirits like confetti does though.
I'm also stuck at him user. Don't give up, I'm still hanging here as well
Based. I'll definitely come back for him way later when I have prosthetic upgrades that can carry me, but for now every tool in my arsenal is ineffective besides spamming oil and fire
she's a late game boss. don't stress about it.
No you didn't skip anything, you'll run in to the monk eventually.
Nah, user. I am done. Game is great but I just realize that it isn't for me.
yeah i made the exact same mistake which is why i mentioned it.
>sekiro
>need a lot time to learn
Literally what, you need only learn how to keep your distance and fucking wait for opening or make them yourself
>dark souls
>variety of gameplay
What the fuck
The only game in the series with actual variety was 2
Have you tried watching someone kill him effectively? I tried that for other bosses and it helped. youtube.com
Shitposting, what else?
Nope I ran right past him and grappled my way up to the ledge leading to the pit you fall into. You can also enter the underground area through the well you start off in at the very start of the game, this also bypasses him completely.
proof?
I find videos about bosses in this type of games totally useless. If you as a player can't repeat those moves, its usless to watch someone better at you doing boss battles.
>read note about snake marriage through being vored
Wtf bros. Is it easy miss this? I took out one of its eyes and haven't seen it since
It only makes enemies slighter more powerful. About the equivalent of a single attack upgrade worth of health/posture, if that makes sense. It's not very much. The increased drop rates are pretty noticeable however.
You can buy the coin sacks from some vendors to keep your money when you die
IF YOUR GAME IS AT 60 FPS
LOCK IT BACK TO 30
IT'LL BE MUCH EASIER, THE DEFLECT TIMINGS ARE TIED TO FRAMES
I REPEAT
LOCK YOUR FPS TO 30
its not in the game and is literally just insane religious zealots trying to convince people to feed themselves to their pet snake.
I'm not sure I want to keep playing
What moves you tard? r1 r1 l1 r1 sometimes jump sometimes dodge
It's good to get an idea of general strategies though.
It's just lore. You'll see it them again.
Not to mention some bosses get way less jankier animations. If your game has higher fps some bosses will speed up.
>MFW BEATING GENICHIRO'S 2ND PHASE ON THE FIRST TRY
I try to parry, I can parry all of his attacks, but I do mistakes that get me to lose health.
No need tho, I can parry him, problem is that the fight is long and tiring.
Literal pleb mode. Sit there in shame
Oh, that's funny. Shame though, I wanted to marry and enter the snake. I wonder what it'd be like to get swallowed whole haha
>locking your FPS to 30 because ur bad
lmaoing at your life
True pros play at 2 fps.
So keep practicing mate. I had to come to Yea Forums to understand how the fuck deflecting the lighting works(didn't figure it out) but I did learn you can stomp on his thrust attacks(I thought it only worked for spears) and that made round 2 a lot easier.
Get the Mikiri and use it on his thrusts, it does a lot of posture damage. Also if you clear out the other guys and run back, you can de-aggro him and get a stealth hit by hiding in the flowers.
Why can that guy use lightning
fucking pussies
average souls babies right here
