Legitimate complaints only, >The game being challenging, that's fine, I can resurrect multiple times and get gud by practice, trial and error
>oh, resurrecting has detrimental effects, hm that...complicates matters
>Oh! You can cure the illness resurrecting causes with an item you can obtain, okay, cool, that makes things balanced
>The item has a finite supply in game
This is the only legitimate complaint I can find, everything else is fine, but the dragon rot mechanic is a nightmare for unskilled players like myself
That aside, I am loving the game, I have just accepted that my Parkinson's play style will have consequences that I will avoid next playthrough
Sekiro and Dragon Rot

You already fucked up OP, you blew it.
Just accept everyone will rot on your first playthrough and try to keep them alive the next one
this is the correct answer, also it gives it replay value
Actual death causes dragonrot, resurrect doesn't.
>Fight stuff
>Die
>Res and run away and teleport back to bonfire
Can NPCs die or are they just disabled until you cure it?
if I die enough will the bosses die to coughs too?
Can you confirm that or you're trolling?
I think they just won't let you do their quests. You can still cure them and then do it but they can get the disease again
it's true you invalid stupid nigger fuck. the woman even explains it as much.
tldr:
dragonrot is from rezzing when you don't have the capability on your own. it steals life from innocent bystanders to replenish your life instead of the lifeforce you built up inside of yourself from killing bad dudes.
use your rezz's as an opportunity to escape and fight another day.
dumb fucking FAGGOT IDIOTS getting mad that they can't just zerg-rush-die everything without consequences.
and having consequences for dying too much like getting a bad ending is completely fine. play the game better next time. you don't need to be able to complete everything in one go. I don't even like the game that much but your guys complaints are so fucking invalid it kills me.
Do many of the quests have cut off points where you can no longer complete them? Sounds like it's best to just save your dragon tears until later.
No idea but since it's a From game you can just assume it does
The issue I have is that the only way to increase your stats other than latent abilities is to kill bosses. I have been getting fucked by grandma butterfree and I don't do enough posture damage to blazing bull so I am currently stuck. Anyone got any advice?
just tickle the bull to death
Im up to sunken valley and granda keeps on being butterfree in the past
Nah sorry pal, I'm already savescumming so I never actually die.
I got fucking butterfree to second stage and got killed instantly by a rando attack. I then dragonrotted the good boy so I had to get another droplet so far I haven't died enough to get anyone other than tutorial and the goodboy sick
why is he sad
Because he lives only for his master (shota). He has no happiness of his own.
does his master like him
He literally can't stop dying.
Most people die a lot VS bosses. So your strategy of rez and escape is useless.
The game actually punish you hard for trying to get good. This is just bad design.
>I don't do enough posture damage to blazing bull
Bosses in general aren't posture races, they're "whittle them down to 25% vitality, then manage a posture break". This is important on Butterfly and Bull, where the dodge-counter and dash-attack are vital tools to whittle down their vitality. Mashing attack in the deadlock won't get you anywhere, and just force you to make more blocks.
I actually don't mind the Dragonrot mechanic as much as I do all the other ways the game punishes you for dying. You lose currency, skill XP, and any consumables you used like pellets and embles are fucking gone, and theres no way to reclaim any of it. The game is already far harder than any of the Souls games so I don't see why death has to have even more consequences than any of them as well.
Unseen Aid is pretty fucking silly too. The people who benefit from it the most are the people not dying as much, and therefor need it the least. Seems backwards.
Stick to the bull, all that matters is health damage not posture. It's legit one of the worst boss designs of any souls game, besides the zero effort bosses of DS2.
thanks mate. I can deal with the butterfly decent enough until second stage where due to mistakes I no longer have health items. Blazing bull still trounces me because I don't really do much health damage either. that's why I was fighting butter fly to try to increase my attack power using the memory.
if you're dying to a single boss that much maybe you need to step back and play a little more patiently instead of constantly trying to slash like a fucking idiot. Most people die a ton to the ogre, I died 0 times. I died 3 times to the Gyoubu guy. Just 3. because from the very first fight I was letting him run around and saw the grapple, I heard the guy outside at the tree talk about how gunpowder scared his horse, etc. People don't take their time and then get upset when they get a shit outcome and punished harshly for zerging the game.
But guess what, it's totally fine to fuck up permanently on your first time through because there's always playthrough #2!
Can't save his master, can't stop dying, can't STAY dead.
He can't do anything right.
and now that he is missing an arm he can't do anything LEFT either
>punish people for restarting at checkpoint instead of the people using the instant revive
Genius game design. Bravo From.
>discard all of your pent up revival energy and instead steal from other people
>people get sick
WTF?!?!
>ingame lore shit reason
I'm talking about from a gameplay perspective you fucking nerd. Why the fuck would you get penalized for restarting at a checkpoint but not for using an instant revive? Look at how DMC 5 fucking does it.
because you earn the revives by playing well
The punishment is for dying... Twice. The res mechanic would be pretty fucking pointless otherwise
>never use instant revives in any game because I was always taught that using them was pussy shit
>new game comes out that basically tells you the opposite
Absolutely retarded. From should stick with rpgs and leave character action to real devs.
>game encourages you to use the mechanic the game is named after
How is that a bad thing? The only thing I don't understand now is what's the benefit of not reviving.
Revives are supposed to be crutches for shitters. Basically they're there to be ignored.
They should have made it so you automatically revive when you die the first time. Giving you a choice when one option completely fucks you over is retarded.
well sometimes a run against a boss is effectively forfeit if you die during a particular early phase, so giving the player the option saves time.
>The item has a finite supply in game
I am at the part where Ashina castle got attacked by some red niggas and I've only used dragonrot cure 2 times, how bad can you be for that to become an issue?
>When the guardian ape gets back up
Hehe you're funny mister
How do I kill those koi in the Hirata Estate moat who are more deeply submerged than the others?
I can't hit them with the sword and the shurikens do nothing.
I haven't used it at all, it's more the principle of the matter. Finite supplies of an item that is the only way to reverse a playthrough altering effect is a little...unfair to some players? Git gud and all that, but if you are frustrating your players you may have made a flawed mechanic
a lot of people don't like to play through multiple times
in all the other souls game you could make a better argument for it since there were different ways to build your character, different weapons to use, pvp, etc. etc. etc.
Keep playing
You learn how to dive later
I've got someone I haven't even met on dragonrot and I'm just at the Hirata Estate. I'm just struggling with the barebones number of options the game gives you. Xbox Ninja Gaiden is a lot easier than this game. There's just so many more combat moves to work with, timing and guessing whether or not you can interrupt a swing feels a lot more consistent, and that game doesn't make high risk "walk up and parry/dodge or get fucked in 1-2 hits" the core mechanic of fighting bosses.
well now the argument is that if you fuck up and suck ass by constantly fucking dying but you want the good ending you need to play again but not suck so much ass.
Where's the pagoda? I finished the estates but somehow missed it entirely
jump into the river after the bamboo forest bonfire
secret path under the bridge leading to owl
From the dialogue? Seems so. Wolf is just very dour and professional about their Master/Servant relationship
So, you earn a second rez just by killing people and that DOESN’T count towards Shitter’s Cough? Cool. Encourages people not to rush past everything on the way to the boss as well.
you're born good noob
I just killed the ogre and have 4 rots already (npcs I have not met ) Am I screwed ?
Take a breather, friend. Do some stretches. Remember to take care of yourself.
>Just lay down and accept it
Wow what a good fucking submissive slut you are, That's right bitch fucking take it, take it like the fucking cum dumpster sissy you are, you aren't strong, you have a worthless pathetic little limp dick and weak pinnable arms, you complete failure of a "man", no, to me you're my little fucking girlfriend, now hold my pocket bitch.
most autistic greentext I've ever read
>They should have made it so you automatically revive when you die the first time
then you can't time the revive to catch enemies off-guard you dunce
>and having consequences for dying too much like getting a bad ending is completely fine
Not when a game is this fucking hard because of shit like a delay on blocking.
Seriously, what the fuck. Is that for additional 'challenge'? When I press block I expect IT TO FUCKING BLOCK.
That's not a good argument, though. I can see the challenge as fun, but arbitrarily decided "NUH UH" to encourage replay value is retarded.
>delay on blocking
stop playing on console you fucking plebeian
>inb4 PC but with a fucking 200ms monitor
>t. butthurt poopeater stuck at Juzuo
>Unseen Aid is pretty fucking silly too. The people who benefit from it the most are the people not dying as much, and therefor need it the least. Seems backwards.
That's the point. Earn the benefit
user just don't revive
embarrassing, you've got a real problem with the amount of pornographic material you consume
>This is the only legitimate complaint I can find
Fromdrone
>the game being challenging
fucking lol
souls games are not "hardcore"
But I'm playing on PC.
Is it because I'm using a PS4 controller? It's really pissing me off, because I know I'm blocking at the right time.
But all deaths contribute to it?
If I'm getting this right, resurrecting doesn't cause it but dying does
punk mothafucka, catch me out in these streets nigga and talk shit, see what happens, you finna get the trunk popped on yo bitch cracka ass nigga
From what I've read it's the other way around.
what do I do with these 2 snake viscera
where did the fat guy go when I spirited him away
I'm also using one and having no problems. what's your monitor's model
I restarted the game before this could become an issue. I'm at the second "general" mini boss again with no deaths after meeting the 1 armed buddha cuck.
>But all deaths contribute to it?
No sweetie?
Why the fuck can't we get a clear answer? Unless I'm just reading shit backwards since I'm tired.
wrong sweetie
That's what I'm reading, anyway. Can you verify it's just reviving? Because I'm hearing players that just die are getting it, too.
How did you get that option? I gave him his white flower but can't do anything with him.
Who to give the different sake to?
Is there a point too late to use the item? For example if I suck and dies tons of times and then just use it once before the final boss would that be any different than using them as I play through?
Journos say that you get dragonrot only from additional revives, fextralife wiki says only when you actually ressurect on bonfire, whom should i trust?
The animation and what not was really good but it has too much HP. They should have put it in a larger area with more enemies too, but I guess that would fry the consoles lmao.
Not him but I'm playing with kb/mouse and it seems pretty responsive to me
I'm at what I assume is basically the end, the big siege on ashina. Still don't know those 2 things.
Pirating it now to see if I can run it on my old PC
>journos
>whom should I trust?
When has trusting journos ever resulted in something good?
boy it's nice to see from actually bother with having a fucking story again, hopefully they can go back to making good games for good now
It seems to halt their quest while they are affected, so yes you can just cure it late game, and then go do the quest.
The rot still spreads if you die but don't resurrect.
>I gave him his white flower but can't do anything with him.
There's a prosthetic that spirits things away
I couldn't handle that shit because everything was set for a controller. "Press X to do this" and whatnot. Even now it fucks me up because X is A for me.
It's just so irritating. I see the wind up and go "BLOCK TIME YEAH" and right as I press it the dude takes a second to actually block. The fuck is that?
You say that as though fextralife is a beacon of correct information
Ah. Do i get it if i just keeping following main quest, or do i need to go find it somewhere?
I feel sorry for your mother. Imagine having an autistic retard for a son.
>blazing bull
hug the back legs and slash at him, he will try to headbutt you over and over again but he can't actually reach you thus he gets stuck in a loop DS1 style
No idea, it's near instant for me so it's a problem with the controller or a bug. Maybe try remapping it to another button? Not necessarily as a solution, but it might help identify if the problem is the entire controller or just that button.
Who should I give to that surgeon guy? Or is it a trap like Bloodborne's clinic?
thingken of master :(
The game has 4 endings. Isn’t that enough replay value?
>uses nigger speak to try to show he's masculine
Stop watching cuck and sissy porn, work out and go study.
I gave the mongoloid outside Mt Kongo the white pinwheel and he is asking me to spirit him away. How do I do that?
This isn't DMC 5, you idiot. Why would a game penalize you for using game mechanics? If you die, you get penalized. If you die after being revived, you get penalized. If you manage to stay alive and get to the idol, after being revived, you don't. It's simple. Don't know why your retard brain has that much trouble with this simple concept.
>mfw I just cheat engine unlimited cures to make up for bad game design
Punk ass white boi, throw them hands punk i'll knock yo ass out QUICK
I don't think I have replayed a game for a cutscene since I was a kid on dial up internet pre youtube days.
Tempting. I want to play by the game's rules but this just seems blatantly unfair.
Wasn't that what Soulfucks always said? "Tough but fair"?
The regular mechanics and the way they interact with the bosses are already questionable balance wise (as in too easy) but when you see how shitters are able to cheese their way through these bosses they really fall apart.
youtube.com
"Final" boss spoilers. That's really unfortunate since some of the later bosses have some really cool movesets or mechanics (well one).
you get dragonrot from dying at all, even if you never take the rez
For a game that requires precise timing to parry properly, the input lag is a huge detriment. I remember getting my ass handed to me on the second mini boss simply because the parry wouldn't come out in time during his multiple sweeps. The chained ogre right after him was much easier.
>input lag
Is this some weird console peasant thing?
Does using ressurects contribute to dragonrot? Like, you die, res, die, res, actually die. Would there be any difference if you'd just accept death the first time?
>Wouldn't come out in time
Literally impossible. If you spam parry the parry and bock frames continuously overlap, so much so that you can parry multi hit flurries with spam.
Yeah if you use the rez tokens and then die the rot spreads faster but if you don't rez and die the rot still spreads.
Yeah, I'm playing it on ps4 because where I live I get a 40% discount with a membership on physical copies. It also came out 2 days earlier.
So they copied MGR to the point where the same strategy works?
>Wasn't that what Soulfucks always said? "Tough but fair"?
Yes, that's what they said about dark souls.
Where did you hear that?
From playing the game
So is there no way to not spread/start it
Who said it? I don't recall anything saying that resurrecting speeds it up
Don't die.
Yeah there is. Don't die
How do you manage to effortlessly be more girly then the traps here actually trying to be women?
In the pop up you get when the rot first happens it says that the more you rez the more it happens but it doesn't refer only to using the rez token mechanic but coming back from the dead in general. Plus from my experience you get a rot curses a lot faster if you keep double dying.
The new "git gud".
>die in two hits
>have to learn pattern
>lol how dare you have to learn pattern
>get punished
>die to butterfree 50 times minimum
>finally stage 2
>she just gets back up
>dragon rot killing people I don’t even know yet
I’ve never had this much trouble in a game before. This dragon rot shit makes me not want to try anymore. I need to fail to get better, but every time I fail my NPCs get fucked?
Is there a secret ending if you beat the tutorial boss?
Yeah its honestly a pretty shitty system.
Another thing. This reminds me of playing games on legendary mode. Basically just memorize where everyone is and kill them, lure, whatever one at a time. Most bosses seem like I’m just finding a cheap way to cheese them instead of getting good.
So about this mechanic.. Does the rot only hit you if you use the Dragon Blood thingy to ressurect on the spot?
Or does it also hit you if you "die" and restart at the bonfire?
I am just replying to someone saying there is no way to spread the rot, which is factually incorrect. Besides it's not like it matters a lot, for your rot to reach like 3+ people you need to die a lot and by using a single dragon's blood all the rot everywhere is lifted (at first I thought using the dragon's blood would only cure 1 person and you had to choose but that isn't the case).
Why the fuck does it matter either way? It's not like it looks the game if you die too much. Lot's of games have a "do this hard thing and you will get another/better ending/more lore/etc" I don't see how this is any different.
>DSP finally played the game
>job million of times to grandma and ogre
>THE GAME IS BORING AND TEDIOUS, NOTHING HURT "THE BOSS" WHERE IS MY DAMAGE
DSP is literally Yea Forums incarnated
I don’t fucking get dragon rot. I’ve been dying instead of resurecting because I thought I wouldn’t get rot, but I already have two essences.
only when you die as in restart, resurrecting doesn't affect it
Is this game worth buying my m8s? Anyone already finished and can tell me about the length of the game? I was thinking about holding out for the inevitable expansion dlc
>Thinking Dragonrot actually does something
From got you good. Its the usual super underdeveloped thing they have in every game. It changes the dialogue for a couple NPCs and thats about it.
if you die>res>run away to rest the rot doesnt happen
it kills npcs eventually. i missed out on the shield prostethic as a result.
But it kills off NPCs, user.
wrong, why are you spreading miss information repeatedly in this thread?
I have like 1 1/2 areas left. So maybe another 10 hours.
Thats so strange.. Ressurecting giving you even more Dragon Rot would have made more sense..
Yes, it does. I tested this earlier by getting myself killed over and over without deciding to res. The dragon rot began to spread.
>game says resurrecting increases rot
>but it they totally meant to say all deaths guise!!1!
Dude stop
if you're spamming block too much trying to parry stuff then it gets slower/worse fyi
>literally have a test dummy in game to git gud against
No, its explained in the lore that resurrecting uses the power that you currently have. When you die, you use the life force of those around you, thats why you still have the power to come back again after dying, cause you keep that part.
So did I and got opposite results... hmmmm
does this also explain respawning mobs upon resting at a sculptor idol? they are also using the lifeforce of others to return?
Are you kidding me? That guy is a terrible way to practice because he's incredibly predictable unlike the difficult enemies.
no you just rest for so long that they get replaced duh
When you revive just run away like a bitch. It's the only way to avoid dragon aids.
It prevents you from doing their quest and they eventually die.
Legit question:
Dragonrot happens when you die, or when you resurect (as in, being downed, and consuming a resurrection orb)?
They are not immortals. You are fighting different dudes, there are only a few enemies in the game who are immortal, but they do not use the dragons power so there is no dragon rote due to them.
I wish I could cope that well.
Die
Dragonrot only happens if you
A. Press LB to die when prompted and respawn at the bonfire
B. Use a rez and then die AGAIN which forces you into a "death" that you can't revive from, respawning you at the bonfire.
You can die and rez on the spot as much as you want and then just walk back to the bonfire to refresh them with 0 repercussions and any user who says otherwise is a dumbshit idiot.
> a From game does not explain retarded mechanics
well what a surprise
Should I keep trying to kill this purple ninja or just come back later? Already got the feather.
Oil + flame tool makes short work of him
The ninja respawns but will give you an crafting material on death. It is functionally a Black Knight.
Just cheese him by running off the cliff into the water, he'll fall to his death.
What part of "Shadows die twice" don't you understand?
>but its casualized!
>4 hours gameplay!
lmao
This has literally never worked for me in Sekiro.
This game trips over itself to shove tutorials down your throat
It's just a mechanic copied over from Souls, they didn't really work in an explanation for other people returning.
it's the other way around user....
The game is very responsive on my pc at locked 60fps playing at 120Hz. The input lag is definitely below 60ms.
So pretty standard 30 hr fromsoft game. How are you enjoying it so far and would you say it is worth full price?
Are there any hidden areas, hidden bosses?
Does the amount of xp needed to earn skill points increase? Can't decide if i should save points or just buy whatever is available.
>fight Genichiro and get 4 people Dragonrot before I manage to finish him
>"This isn't even my final form"
Well fuck that, I'm gonna cheese his last phase with Firecrackers.
Yes
I can't beat the spear boss. How do I get the dodge skill to work?
>implying you can run away from Muneshigi 2.0
Fighting Genichiro is effectively an endurance run, I'd save up on then stones until you get there.
>those stats
So am I in the wrong place right now? No wonder it's so fucking hard
How do I know if NPCs are dying? I got some sick again but dying to Genichiro I'm not sure if I should use a stone now or later or just farm money and empty their stores.
I dropped it. Game is not for me. Its a shame tho lads. Genichiro is the wall for me. Stuck on him for 10h is kinda the limit. Useless to continue if the 3rd boss is this hard for me.
Make sure you are standing still when you do it
>3rd
what
who did I skip
Oh I see. I was pressing forward and O. So I just stand still and press O when he pokes with it?
Probably Lady Butterfly.
Yes
I've also heard some bosses are designed around requiring a response half way through the fight?
Your explanation sounds even more tedious than old souls games making you run all the way back to the boss room from bonfires
Lady Butter fly and some huge arena in the Ashina Depths (I'm guessing it's the Snake bossfight since a mini-boss called Snake Eyes was protecting the entrance.
>dies
>resurrect
>dies again
>resurrect again
>suddenly Dragonrot
>NPCs coughing
>do side quest
>cure Dragonrot
>dies
>Dies
>never select Resurrect again
Well that was easy.
No you're not you retard
I assumed Butterfly was 3rd considering she's much harder than Genichiro.
You can run past Snake Eyes, she's guarding an even harder miniboss.
Canonically and mechanically you are resurrecting when you die regardless of if its during a fight or after running out of resurrections. You just resurrect at a shrine. During the Ashina fight I stopped resurrecting because I didn't want to lose a res during the first phase and I still got dragonrot. It doesnt even fucking matter, just cure it
Retard
same stats as me and i certain that we took the wrong turn
>butterfly harder than Genichiro
I wish user. I did not have all those problems against the Lady. Genichiro made me drop the game.
And how do you cure it after you run out of the very short and limited supply available to you?
I'm having a hell of a time with Butterfly, but she's the first boss I've fought and I only have 1 attack. Should I just come back to her later?
It goes up quite a bit every level. It starts off at like 100 required but by 25 or so its 3.5K per level
IZA
She is weak to the same strategy that trash enemies are. Spam attack until she perfect guards you, parry the retaliation attack, attack 3 times > perfect guard > parry repeat this forever. In phase 2 there's a chance she will perfect guard after only 2 attacks so you need to be more careful. You can literally keep her in the corner just attacking her non stop. I killed her with finishers at about half her hp in both phases.
What? I am at 23 and only nees 800 for 24, it goes up by MAYBE 30-50ish each time
I dont know what to tell you, im 20 hours in and am certainly nearing the last third or quarter of the game, died countless times to Ashina and a few other bosses and I have 3 of them in my inventory with multiple merchants selling multiple of them. I have not had a single NPC die. Peoplebare overthinking this too much, but then again maybe I'm truly overestimating how terrible Yea Forums is at video games
>encounter Happy Merchant-san selling info
>claims he remembers me
>do the memory quest
>Happy Merchant-san was one of the bandits looting the place
>return to Happy Merchant-san in the present
>killed him
Did I make a mistake?
You, um, don't....?
It's not...the best mechanic, hence the thread
Yep
Yea I think I'm completely lost. I went to this monk area and it's hard but doable, but before that I went to some snow area with a bunch of gunstick users that could almost 1 shot me with a single bullet, and the area had like 4+ gunners aiming at you all at once. I had to bail out. But I don't know where else to go I'm pretty lost.
How fucked am I?
you done the boss fight where you fight the first guy again?
Youre not fucked, but you basically killed Patches 2.0 and he sells some convenient shit late-game
Who cares faggot. Resurrect as many times as you want. If you fuck up, start a new game.
>parry the retaliation attack
i didn't even know there was enough recovery to do that.
Just did a quick count actually. I'm at 33 and it costs 3538 to level it up.
>back away to heal
>Genichonigger takes out his bow that one shots me to death
Game is too hard. Dropped. DSP was right.
>white pinwheel
where did you get one?
You killed Patches-san, you monster
really, did you not notice he had the fat fucking 'talk to me' symbol on him?
>they got miyuki sawashiro to voice a piece of paper
Waste
Why the fuck did they make the Makiri Counter or whatever not fucking work half the time? I'm fighting against the shinobi hunter retard and I died three times because it doesn't proc when he's farther away.
Is there actually an NG+ where you can shitstomp the game with endgame Wolf?
It somewhere on the mountain on a side path off of the main one. You have to climb and shimmy on some wall things and do a bunch of wall jumps. The path leads you to the other side of the demon bell.
I talked to him, of course. Killed him after I found out he's one of the looters.
>it's a femdom post
Are you trying to turn me on? Because it's working.
You have to hit him with the fan that blows shit away, its totally retarded. the divine what the fuck ever.
Literally Muneshiggydiggy 2.0
Welp you dun fucked up then
Don't kill him next time
>Stuck at Rampaging Bull and Juzuo the Drunkard
Where do I get that fan?
oh i know exactly where, thanks
>died three times in a row to the Shinobi Hunter
>haven't died once prior
>two characters have the dragon rot
this is fucking retarded though, seriously
Should I buy this game? I've seen gameplay, it's too different from Souls games but still looks cool as fuck. Environmental design and atmosphere seem to be on point
I only noticed input lag when jumping, but that didn't really mess me up too much except for when I was trying to be stealthy.
No, just some nigga throwing a ninja star at you in the background before the dude gets back up and cutting your arm off.
If by first guy you mean that boss that cuts your arm off then no. I got to a warp stone in the castle that took me to the abandoned caves or something but that place is also bullshit. Every area I've been to is complete bullshit. Some enemy that shoots a million skulls at you that instakill if terror'd, some headless zombie that takes no damage and makes it so you can only walk, some area with a boss called snake eyes where you get shot from every possible angle and still get grabbed out of the air when you jump her sweep grab. I honestly have no idea where to go.
>Stuck at Grandma Butterfly
I wish I was stuck on Juzuo, at least you can have some fun with that one.
he's at the top of the castle so go there and take his lunch money
Huh, now that you mention it I do remember climbing a castle with a bunch of those tengu fucks. Last thing I remember is a suicide one that blew me up. Guess I'll go back there.
Stuck on this guy he just oneshots me any tips?
How the fuck do I beat the bull.
The camera is all over the place and I can't seem to dodge or parry anything.
You can take him down if you just parry his two swings when he attacks. Literally once, maybe twice
he only has 2 attacks. Parry spam when you see his sword flash, jump on his head when your spider sense tingles
watch his hands, when he draws a sword there is a flash, just parry two times. he kinda kills himself
Prep it first.
Don’t let the bull charge you, follow it around when it runs
I have never actually died only ressurrected and either ran away or managed to defeat the enemy that killed me and i have yet to be introduced to the dragonrot mechanic ingame
I'm at juzou in the hirata states and at tenzen at the ashina outskirts so maybe i havent yet reached the point in the story when dragonrot activates.
block and dodge, seriously
It's either parry the shit out of him two or three times in a row when he does his double strike or death. There's no middleground to this fight.
Once you ressurect once just back off to the statue and rest and try again without dying.
This doesn’t help with boss fights
It takes me like 8-9 parries to hit the bar for instakill and yet a single mistake leads to mu death its just frustrating i don't have such a good reaction
Timid maid is the woman that gave you the bell.
It literally only takes 2 parries to fill his bar. You are doing something wrong.
you can do it user! looking for that flash makes it easier
This, I've been without resurrecting and when the sculptor got sick I got pissed
Why the fuck do they penalize not using the revive mechanic?
The whole revive thing is just silly nonsense. It's something they came up with because they wanted to pretend it was not the exact same copy pasted system as every single one of their games.
Because the revival mechanic is part of the game and you're expected to use it so you DON'T die.
It makes sense really. When you die without using your own powers then everyone shoulders the damage. If you bring yourself back using your own power everything is fine and dandy.
>perfect parry his attack
>still lose half your hp
Fucking hilarious enemy design.
Why do i take dmg even if i parry him?
>I heard the guy outside at the tree talk about how gunpowder scared his horse
How are you supposed to make use of this again? You don't get the firework until after the fight.
You shouldn't job against bosses then.
It seems like a way for them to up the difficulty across the board. Minibosses compete against actual fucking bosses in past games.
>perfect parry
>perfect parry
>lose hp
You're not parrying dude.
>Bosses have multiple abilites which one shot, each of which must be trial and error'd to figure out how to properly react
>just dont job xD
Can someone help me. I currently beat Lady Butterfly, advanced to Ashina Castle, killed the General with 4 snipers, ran past the kamikaze rooftop ninjas, made it to Sunken Valley, skipped Snake Eyes because fuck that noise, somehow managed to go all the way down until Centipede Giraffe which I beat but got faced with a locked door.
I explored Senpou Temple a bit, got the gourd seed and made it to the broken bridge with those cancerous twrling double halberd niggers but got dead ended, maybe I'm missing something
I also found the Headless and the Lone Shadow but I'm out of Confetti and the Lone Shadow is still kicking my ass.
Do I have any other route?
It's just splitting your health in 2 or 3 parts user, in the end the result is the same.
I don't think I ever fought a single boss who could oneshot me from full life, even with a grab.
The Ape can do it unless you did his area later after getting around your fourth prayer necklace. The Headless ALWAYS insta kill grab
The headless grab is not an instant kill. You fight him multiple times throughout the game and both times you can eat that grab. I think I had 13 vitality when I fought him the first time and the telegrab didn't kill me. Are you sure you didn't just die to the Terror status?
Yeah in this video he really takes his stamina fast and for me it takes 8-9 parries, maybe i'm underlvled? My health is 12 and attack is still 1 like idk killed everything before him pretty fast
Invest in the ashino sword skill tree.
Is there NG+?
upgrade your damage dummy
>Legitimate complaints only
Enemy moves have fucking ridiculous tracking
Do i need to fight same bosses again or some shit? Seems pretty boring and i've heard it only gives you like 10% buff
I'm also on Lone Shadow and it is UNBEARABLE because the camera and lock on keeps fucking up. Is this just me and i'm doing something wrong? I'm assuming it's just the small room being a bitch to me.
I'm stuck on the chained ogre because his grabs are undodgable.
at a shrine there is an enhance attack power option, you can do this after every proper boss fight you do so do that and your damage won't be at one
On a different note, anyone had any trouble with charging prosthetic tools? If I try to hold it just shoots the normal version of the tool. Any advice?
Regardless, it's easy to parry him user, watch for the flash of the blade.
jump, dodges are a meme.
Have you even played the game you retards? I used 0 resurrect tokens and I still got 2 rots from it (Sculptor+Emma) just from dying.
Try jumping. I was stuck there too.
What the fuck is this headless dude?
Lmao it's funny how many bad game design choices can From put in just one game.
It got the Capra Demon situation going on with the smol room
I stealth kill one of his pins everytime and yet I can't get past him
Buy it from thw crow merchant in the first area, it's only 500.
I am literally jumping, 9/10 it does not change anything. 10 years later and From still has not fixed magnetic grabs.
I wish they explained why the fat sumo was crying before that fight, he just walks around and cries for no reason. i wish they had someone talking about it.
I never rezed and I still have dragon rot.
this mechanic is wonky
if you were actually getting gud this shouldnt matter you just outted your self as a shitter
Yes because using your extra lives DOES NOT increase dragonAIDS since its your own lifeforce being used. Reviving will NOT make people sick so you should use it whenever you have the chance.
Succumbing instead of reviving or dying with no chances left WILL increase dragonAIDS because someone else's lifeforce has to be used in lieu of your own.
TL;DR:
>reviving with resurrection chances = GOOD
>Succumbing/dying with no res chances = BAD
So basically when you're revived by the Idol, Dragonrot spreads?
Well it worked, for some reason I thought you need to fight these bosses AGAIN
does NPCs dying ACTUALLY happen? I can't find real videos on it just "speculation" garbage. Do they ACTUALLY disappear and not ever come back, ever? Or is it just the dialogue changes I've already gotten?
What the fuck are you guys talking about? I'm not the original poster but every time I get a perfect parry on him I still take like 50% of my hp in chip damage. I actually can not use the parry strategy vs him because I'll die before I break his posture with it.
shuriken right? It's actually a different equip.
I hear the perfect parry sound and see the extra large sparks that indicate the perfect parry like on every other boss. I fucking demolished every boss until this guy but when the parry goes off I still take chip damage through both parries.
you are wrong. I never ressurect at all and got draggon rot.
Lmao, the way they explain that shit to you is awful. Gonna restart now.
Can someone post the Ashina/Bogdanoff copypasta? Cheers
For fucks sake, why don't they explain fucking anything and this is totally unnecessary. Thanks man
>Legitimate complaints only
The whole "you regen posture slower as you lose vitality" is a bad mechanic. On the one hand, it makes fights more difficult as you take hits, which incentivizes you to give up the moment you make one mistake. On the other, it makes fights less interesting, because you never have a reason to focus on the enemy's posture meter when vitality damage translates into posture damage at a given point no matter what.
game has artificial difficulty. you get punished the more you die, your skill xp and sen get halved each time, and the more dragon rot spreads the less chance you have of getting unaided on death which means you're just going to keep losing xp and sen and never progressing.
combat can feel clunky at times, especially considering items are mapped to the d-pad which is very awkward to use while moving.
>game revolves around dying and learning enemies' moveset
>punish deaths
10/10 game.
You have autism.
YES BECAUSE YOU SUCCUMBED INSTEAD OF REVIVING
IF YOU FULLY DIE (LIKE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CHOOSE DIE INSTEAD OF RESURRECT) IT ADVANCES DRAGON ROT BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T USE ONE OF YOUR REVIVE CHARGES
You're right, it's explained fucking horribly and I hope it gets patched
>Seto Kaiba wants dragon blood
Well memed From.
The dragon rot doesn't affect ending. For best ending you need to beat Owl memory that you get from eavesdropping on Emma. Not that you will ever beat that hell of a level.
When you die on bosses resurrection is irrelevant and that's where you'll die the most.
>muh dragonrot
literally who cares whats the worst that can happen? maybe some cool enemies will spawn
I wish Wirriamu-sama were in Sekiro.
he's just a regular trash mob, there will be plenty of them later on
the peddler wants a big and strong guy where do i find someone matching that description that will help him?
>literally who cares whats the worst that can happen?
NPCs dying.
I fell of a cliff a couple of times and still got it. The fuck are you talking about ?
Lady says I have to be a trainer of monkeys to get the dried fruit. The way she's praying is near a dead end with a group of armed monkeys. I thought it had something to do with monkey sake but they aggro even if I try to sneak up. What should I do?
If you died from doing it, that's why
The timid maid that gave me the bell died, but it didn't really matter. Dunno if anyone important can die. It might simply never kill people as long as you have stuff left to do with them.
I'm not that guy but it's pretty fucking simple. You die, curse go up. You revive, you aren't dead. That said, his explanation of how the dragonrot works is literally the exact opposite of what Emma tells you in the beginning of the game so fuck if I know what's going on here.
Just be yourself :^)
oh god please no
there's a big black guy near the well where you initially started the game that can coerced into going to the Abandoned Dungeon, and the retard giant in Senpou Temple can also be used
When I get this game I'm gonna use cheat engine to get max level from the beginning and quickly upgrade all my weapons.
>everyone
Speak for your NPCs baddie
And? Last I checked they don't do anything essential for you.
>You're right, it's explained fucking horribly and I hope it gets patched
A good deal of the game could use some rewrites. It flat out fucking lies to you about mechanics at times, it's absurd.
i got stuck at butterlady too because i tried to deplete her health cause she blocked everything i threw at her until i realized that shes a weak old woman who cant block for shit without taking posture damage. if you stay close and keep attacking she will wont have time to summon illusions. hope it helps
Just watch a stream, less work for the same amount of gratification
It's just horribly explained, and I'm just going to chalk it up to the usual mistranslation shittery that still somehow manages to plague From games even when they work directly with the localization team from the earliest stages
well shit i told the black man to go talk to that surgeon guy and gave the retard his spinning flower so now he wants to die, what do you get by getting the peddler an assistant anyway?
So what exactly is the point of hooking the wooden thing on the ogre's back? It just kind of awkwardly moves me closer to him, but what's the point of that? It's just a time waster.
I have no idea yet, I would also like to know. Also sent the black guy and so far I only got lumps of fat wax
The work put in is proportional to the amount of gratification I get. Games that are very difficult to cheat in, like console games, bring me a lot of joy when I finally hack them. It's extra rewarding because there aren't any other hackers, either. I makes me feel like I've earned the right to steamroll everyone.
An extra tip btw is that Shuriken fucks her up, If she is hit with one while airborne, she'll fall, having taken a lot of health and posture damage
>not doing a pure run then cheating your heart out
Certain ones give various upgrades including prosthetics. Which is kind of a big deal when those are kind of the only thing that includes more options for gameplay.
It 100% gives more rot if you die and return. Which is stupid as you're reviving either way, why would one give more than the other? If I wasn't told otherwise I'd be ignoring the revive entirely under the assumption that it was worse than returning to a statue.
>Sculptor upgrades and installs your tools
>Emma upgrades your Estus
>Merchants give sell you exclusive items like new tools
>NPCs open up entire new areas
>>They don't do anything essential.
mooks die too fast
bosses drag on too long
id rather it was evened out a bit more so trash mobs pose an actual threat but thats more preference than bad design
you need to spend skill points to get the follow up move
it feels like they created a fun moveset then gated off half of it behind grinding mobs
confirmed no
I think the intended way to dodge those bullshit grabs is to grapple onto the tree at the bottom of the stairs, then back to the ogre. It's the only explanation I can think of. There's also that one skill that lets you chain grapple into an attack, which lets you get some use out of it.
>dragonrot doesn't kill npcs
>dragonrot kills npcs
>dragonrot only spreads from resurrecting on the spot
>dragonrot only spreads from dying and respawning at the last statue
>dragonrot spreads in both cases
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN'T TAKE THIS LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
You're a retard, it's hopeless
That sucks.
Thank you for fighting bugmen, though.
Only spread from dying, not rezing.
When do I get access to the skill tree?
You are already affected by the dragonrot irl.
We all are. I'm afraid it's too late for us now.
Read the description. It spreads from you dying. It doesn't matter if you resurrect or not. Resurrecting means you are coming back from the dead. "Shadows Die Twice". If the health bar is depleted, it's a death.
i cant git gud
am i the only one that has trouble with sweeping attacks. i either default to just a normal dodge or and up trying to block it. any tips to make my brain move my fucking thumb to the jump button in time?
Yes there are plenty
IS THERE A WAY TO TURN OFF THESE STUPID FUCKING ARROWS!? THEY KEEP THROWING ME OFF AND POINTING ME TO ENEMIES THAT ARE NOWHERE NEAR ME!
>This isn't DMC 5, you idiot
You're right. DMC5 requires actual skill and isn't meant for streaming redditors such as you. Thank god I refunded this turd and can go back to playing the actual game of the year.
How to make ape die
Alright so is there any info on if maybe more specifically WHEN Dragonrot kills NPCs?
Like is it a set amount of deaths, time, story progression/triggers?
I had one of the Mod merchant dudes sick for like a good 6 hours now (with plenty of deaths happening) and he's still alive with no changes
Use cheat engine. There's not much to make you get stronger faster, but you can use the speed hack to play in slow motion. It's possible to bind the command to a key so you can toggle it whenever combat starts.
Fat retard will sit next to the peddler, peddler gets some mid tier upgrade materials and buff sugars
>It doesn't matter if you resurrect or not.
But it does - reviving on the spot results in a fair bit less, if any, dragonrot.
>souls game
Shut the fuck up
Unlike most of the people posting about this game on Yea Forums journos have actually played it
look if you want to just be shit at vidya you should just go play DmCV
Dragonrot doesn't kill them
>no one has found the Great Colored Carp yet
>oh, resurrecting has detrimental effects, hm that...complicates matters
it doesn't though, this is why i deleted this trash game
whether you die or resurrect, nothing matters, its bioware-tier shit.
jesus fucking christ, this is the true face of /polv/, can't even emulate nigger speak correctly because he's such a fucking shut in
Why do From fans seethe so fucking hard about devil may cry? I really do feel sorry for people who can't enjoy both games. You're missing out on good shit because you have some autistic us vs them mentality.
This game fucking sucks.
You don't think it would be the other way around? There's no reason not to revive if it's a tactical bonus and way to reduce the progression of the NPC FOXDIE disease.
The combat is poorly designed and extremely shallow.
Play the game b4 you post zoomer
>Why do From fans seethe so fucking hard about devil may cry?
It's falseflagging faggots trying to pit fandoms against each other.
Yea Forums, why are you trying so hard to shit on this game? It doesn't make you look cool or different from the masses. It just makes you look fucking stupid.
Just relax and play the game. For fucks sake.
i may be a shitter but im not faggot
Ok I just beat the ogre and drunkard. How the fuck were people having trouble with them? Especially the ogre. He’s weak to fire and the grappling skill you get literally makes it easy mode. Just jump to dodge and instead of the quick dodge.
Not even trying to boast/brag here. Every time he went for a grab I just grappled his face and got 2 free hits. Only had to use one pellet the whole fight
Stop samefagging for yous.
redditors who hate anything japanese because they are underage
who else besides the old lady can you get the blood sample from? she's dead and i cant find anyone else to give me a blood sample
Has anyone had more success by re-binding the deflect button somewhere else? I'm using a DS4 controller and the timing is cancer by using my index finger to press RB
Why are you trying to defend it so hard? The game isn't perfect, and like every single piece of media ever created in the history of the universe, someone will discuss the flaws.
I would think so, but I've 'died' to the butterfly a dozen or so times and returned before dying again, and I'm still at the same number of dragonrot as when I died and returned to a shrine three times.
Where do I get fire for the ogre? How do I access my skill tree? How do I turn the arrows off?
I thought the ogre was easy too, but not everyone has the fire skills and grapple attack yet by then
Anyone who's affected, I'm pretty sure. I got it from her son.
Have you tried the vender with a lot of crows?
The vendor next to the battlefield with the horse rider boss
Genichiro fight is so fucking boring
You have to actually get the timing right kiddo, don't blame the designers for your inability to play the game
Git gud zoomer
Can you get NPCs to fight with you?
I was having trouble with flaming Bull until I realized you can fucking deflect him when he charges at you for some reason.
For Jozuo just try to be quick and efficient with killing off the smaller enemies so that you can get him in a 2v1 before your ally takes too much damage. I reccomend:
>sneak to the left take out the two guys there
>go back to the entrance and talk to the guy to fight with you
>as he's charging in quickly take out one of the archers
>after that Juzuo will probably be huffing his weapon, use this time to take out one if the shield guys
And then use your own intuition from there
>Dragonrot in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice affects the NPCs by making them sick, which prevents progression of their Quests. In addition, the more Dragonrot you accumulate, the less Unseen Aid you will have. Each time you die and respawn at a Sculptor's Idol each NPC has a chance to gain Rot Essence. They all have their individual chance, with some being higher than others. The Sculptor will always be effected first. It does not matter whether you Resurrect or not, you can still gain Dragonrot if you respawn at a Sculptor's Idol, so there is no point in not Resurrecting if you can.
THERE.
I got one to fight the drunk fatass with me
It's in the divine village in the cave underwated in the lake. Literally can't miss him as you have to go through there to progress the story.
They respawn but are in very specific locations and each one you kill gives you a crafting reward. They are functionally black knights. Or red eyes knights from DeS
>enemies can't hurt each other
this is the worst game
What should I buy with the fish scales?
Where is the 5th carp? I got 4 scales.
>because you never have a reason to focus on the enemy's posture meter when vitality damage translates into posture damage
Except the literal 2nd combat tutorial explains that because of the regenerating posture feature you need to injure enemies to do more posture damage to kill them. This is literally required for certain enemies/bosses because if you try to just parry them over and over and never swing, or don't have the items to do actual damage to their healthbar, you will never break their posture because it refills too quickly.
You need to have patience to master the kataná of the Sekiró
its in the prosthetic skill tree
you get it from the sculptor
do the bell memory level to get the axe and fire attack then he gives it you
He hits twice you dumbass. You need to parry both swings on his verticle.
It's a limited resource.
I haven't even tried the game yet but I can tell you're an idiot.
genuinely having upgrade npc's die if you are having a hard time is some fucking horrendous design
especially since cheesing with arms is the easy mode
There are like 20 stones throughout the game and it takes something like 5 rezzes before one dude gets dragonrot. One stone cures EVERYONE of dragonrot. There are virtually no downsides to stage one, they cough and you can't progress their quests. But you can just cure them when you need to progress it. They won't die until you die a shitload more and get more dragon rot. I had 7 dragonrot at one point, one for every fucking mob vendor I knew at the time and I still cured it and nothing bad happened. I've been sitting on all these tears for the whole game practically and it's pretty much over.
That's what I'm saying. There's no reason to do posture attacks at high vit because it'll just regen, but there's no reason to use them at low vit because (A) since their vit is low you can finish off their health bar just as quickly as you can break their posture, and (B) once they stop regenerating posture, vit attacks and the incidental parry you get from just trying to block is more than what you actually need. There's no strategy behind it. It might as well just be a health bar.
Rezzes don't effect dragonrot, stop spreading this lie.
Git gud
They don't die. Their quests stop progressing.
This is kinda dumb. The dragonrot should be gained on the free revives. Otherwise, that's just adding a second punishment on top of losing exp and money.
>takes off half your hp with one strike
Think of it like this: on dying you can resurrect and have one more chance to finish the boss off, but you risk exp loss/money loss/dragonrot if you fail.
Or you can resurrect and run for it, teleport away using your Buddha doll. You can do this over and over without consequence, but ultimately you'll have to win with one health bar instead of two.
Where the fuck is this butterfly boss?
Yo who the fuck is this witch with the purple sword in this cave? Can’t move as fast in here. Should I drop down this hole or try to fuck her shit up
It's part of the punishment for death. Don't die twice.
Woman in the first village died in my game from dragonrot, also if they don't why they have different phases 1 just cough then it tells you they are about to die
Just realized this and now imma be fleeing every time
alright i just beat genichiro now where the fuck is emma?
It’s a headless dude. No health bar or anything
>taking the easy way out is not punished
>but if you die "for real" it just compounds the punishments
Seems like bad design
Not him, I played the game for a couple hours and I felt that zombie fag is hardly any good practice.
Should I ring this huge bell or what
You can homeward in the middle of a boss fight? Do you have to not get hit while the animation is playing or are you home free as soon as you use it?
i just beat lady butterfly without her being afflicted by dragonrot and the woman and her son still died, again npcs can't die from dragonrot it just stops their quests
It’s bad design that you get punished for being shit? Fuck off
>Using the central mechanic of the game that is in the title does not punish you
Makes sense.
>Dying twice in a row punishes you
It actually makes sense that you should be punished after fucking up your second chance.
Ringing the bell makes enemies harder but you get better rewards
Getting hit cancels it, I learned that the hard way
If you beat it so can I.
but can you use it in bossfights
Maybe if the free and easy revives had a real punishment tied to them, it would be slightly better. Not to mention you can get multiple free revives.
>Or red eyes knights from DeS
I never remember where they are outside of the one before Doran's. How many were there?
I'm a meta human at the top 1% of reflex performance and I boost that further with ADHD medication. You aren't on my level.
I got this idea
If for some players the game is to easy we are going to make it even more easy for them
If its to hard we are gone make it even harder for them
Sure they both are gone hate it, but we are going to call it, ……. DRAGON ROT……..
fuck yeah, lets do this
All the more reason to hard punish you for real deaths.
Ok how do i dodge litghtinigs 3rd phase genichiro? 3 times almost killed him by just being lucky but always fucked by the thunder strike
so how is lore in this game so far? is it anywhere near bb?
git gud
the camera is shit
How's the kb+m setup? Shitty as most japanese ports tend to be? Or actually functional and good enough like Yakuza 0?
I'm confused, does resurrecting cause the rot or dying and respawning?
Why? You make no sense
Respawning at a shrine is what technically causes it.
I'm playing on kb+m and it's decent
Everyone is giving different answers. I think someone needs to actually contact from and get an official response.
holy fucking autism, seek thy sunlight nigga
Almost the same lovecraft tentacles and shit
Rezzing back at the bonfire is literally what causes dragonrot you brainlet. Reviving on the spot doesn't do shit.
>finally unlock all your moves
>don't get to enjoy them from the get go in NG+
Thanks From.
>need to do Genichiros first phase near flawlessly just so you stand a fighting chance at his second phase with a swipe that goes over the entire arena
have sex
for real?
>since their vit is low you can finish off their health bar just as quickly as you can break their posture
I've never fought a boss and actually damaged their life to the point that I get a deathblow on them. It's always through posture. Vitality exists so you have an option to further slow down posture regen and thus speed up fights that you're trying to be defensive on.
God damn, I finally managed to beat the ape with like 10% health remaining, it was fucking intense but real fun fight
kek
>Games that are very difficult to cheat in, like console games, bring me a lot of joy when I finally hack them. It's extra rewarding because there aren't any other hackers, either.
Using cheat engine is not hard, hacker boy.
based
Death definitely causes it, I never used the resurrect mechanic early on because I was eating shit so hard there was no point and my guys were all getting sick
>any tips to make my brain move my fucking thumb to the jump button in time?
Exercise and eat healthier.
Yes.
There's inherent risk of getting hit because of the cast time, but you can use it.
dragonrot is an objectively shit mechanic desu
>need to grind shitty confetti for the Headless mini-bosses
For what fucking purpose? Just let me buy it at the Vendor.
From what I can tell, ringing the bell makes enemies hit very slightly harder. Like, very slightly. But makes them SHIT OUT FAT LOOT. I'm literally drowning in ore/candy.
This is definitely not true for all bosses. For genichiro I deathblow'd him when he had about 75-80% hp in all 3 phases.
>oh, resurrecting has detrimental effects, hm that...complicates matters
The very first thing you bitch about, you're wrong about. Sekiro has really exposed all the garbage on Yea Forums.
You still get dragonrot without resurrecting
I really want to like this game, the world is so huge and theres so much to explore. Its not linear at all and it doesn't feel entirely connected yet it still feels like places are close to eachother. I really think that is the strongest point of the game.
Many weapon skills and items to use, there are so many possibilities, yet i still don't get whats happening. The past few hours i spent running past enemies with stealth potions or just cheesing them because they always come in groups and I get 2shot anyways. Bosses are actual garbages so far, Im tired of 2shots and 10+ attack sequences that i supposed to properly parry. God i love exploring but the combat is just depressing, the enemy was made to fuck you up in every single way that is possible. Until you use the proper consumable ofcourse, then the fights become a massive joke. But for those consumables you need to farm aswell, just like for your arm abilities.
Well you don't even use cheat engine for consoles.
Aren't there like 5 of them throughout boletaria?
Posture raping Genichiro is the only effective strategy if you want to minimize the damage you take. His first hp bar is easily destroyed if you catch his thrust.
Stop trying to guess how it would work because it would make more sense in regards to balancing. It's very simple.
You use the revival token and it's all good, you go back to the bonfire and it's bad news.
Using the energy you've built up vs leeching it off people.
Shadows Die Twice is in the title for a reason.
There are videos out there showing you how to avoid it. Watch them and try doing what they do As a matter of fact, anyone having difficulty with this game should go to YouTube ASAP to spot check themselves.
I enjoy that most of the lore you get via drinking booze with npcs.
The only problem with this game is that there's no NG+
It's supposed to give you a disincentive to commit too heavily to a fight. If you're losing, running away is the best solution, especially if you're already on your second chance.
with worms this time
> it doesn't feel entirely connected
The world is literally connected.
Go back to 2chan. I can sense how nip you are through how shitty your own explanation of the game is.
I mean, when you say his first hp bar do you mean actually depleting all his hp? Because you can mikiri his trusts in all 3 phases which does insane posture damage. So you should never be able to take his hp to half before deathblow from posture is available.
There is literally a loading screen tip that tells you dragonrot only occurs if you die and respawn at a statue.
So, how long is this game?
He's right, you know. I'd love a challenge mode where you can play without a prosthetic arm, but have a grappling hook; there are plenty of techniques for defeating enemies even without it.
But IGN confirmed that NG+ is a thing in this one
>60ms for a single player game
How is this allowed? Even multiplayer games are more responsive.
How do I spirit away the giant monk after giving him the white pinwheel?
Easily upwards of 50 hours if you take your time sniffing around for adventures.
Just you watch. What I might lack in raw skill I make up for in perseverance.
Use the divine wind fan thing.
So dragon rot happens when you die, whether you revive or not. I take it you need to save your cure for when everybody has it, otherwise it's futile?
Shit mechanic imo, I don't mind punishing games or a challenge, but such a massive penalty for dying seems like a dumb idea. Got gud or not, it's just bad gameplay design, unless it doesn't lock you out of any endings.
Guess there's always YouTube for that.
Point out my shitty explanation and I will break it down for you.
Mob tracking and quick posture breaking is killing the combat. Bosses do way too much damage. Your perfect mikiri doesn't even reward you until you upgrade it so its basically useless unless the enemy is on less than 10% hp. 1 mikiri fuckup and you are gone. Random enemies are mostly in groups and some of them even detect stealth candies from VERY far away so its better to just leave them and take the next statue then go back and try to backstab them if its possible.
The entire game is artificial difficulty and you know it,everyone knows it. The world is really fucking nice and im in love with it but i would rather avoid as much combat as possible because of how retarded it is.
Thats gonna be a yikes from me bruv
>Because you can mikiri his trusts in all 3 phases which does insane posture damage
Yeah I'm aware, it just felt that the first HP bar is so much faster to deplete compared to his second since the first HP bar he pretty much keeps spamming the thrust if you are up in his face attacking/parrying him. At the second HP bar (before the second phase) he changes his perilious attack from a thrust to a sweep. I've found him far less thrusting than sweeping at the second HP bar.
Who's the O&S of Sekiro
Can someone please explain how this works ?
When I’m dead , I get 2 choices. I can press the left bumper and I can press the right bumper.
What do I have to press so I have the least chance of triggering this ?
It's why I'm asking, I don't remember. I think there was at least one before Penetrator?
I thought that I could revive twice if I had the two red circles full...I have the two red circles full and I still can only resurrect once per "life". What the hell is going on? I know the circle is completely full, I've killed literally over a hundred enemies and its still only giving me 1 resurrect
>What do I have to press so I have the least chance of triggering this ?
well the sequence of buttons that lets you avoid dying is complicated and largely context-dependent
