Reminder that if you resurrect, you are a Dragonrot spreading bitch that deserves the worst of deaths.
Reminder that if you resurrect, you are a Dragonrot spreading bitch that deserves the worst of deaths
spreads either way DOOFUS
i have resurrected a few times... is there any hope for me? i only just got spoiled on dragon rot
>Tfw gotten through blazing bull, horse gate man on horse, grandma, and fat drunk man without resurrecting
Got fucked over by Bug gorilla no head and Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman though. The best boss so far are the Mystic Monkeys at Shangri-la
You get items to remove it from everyone at once. Just do it before anyone dies.
They are limited however so you'll have to spread them out and still try to not die too much.
Wait is it resurrect that causes Dragon Rot or death? Like if I choose to die instead of resurrect do I not cause the disease. I've died around 10 times so far, but resurrected like 30+ times.
It's got nothing to do with resurrecting, if you die full stop, it spreads.
It's a neat mechanic, but I wish they'd explain it better when it first starts happening because I legit had no idea what was going on.
Yes, there is hope.
I'm getting mixed messages on this whole dragonrot shit.
Some people say only resurrecting causes it, others say both causes it and someone also said only dying causes it.
Which is it? I know I've resurrected plenty, and died a fair few times too so now i'm not sure what caused it.
Is there any drawback to resurrecting at all then? Seems like a weird mechanic.
Are you sure? Seems like resurrecting has no downsides then. If resurrecting cause Dragon Rot but dying didn't then that'd make sense. Either sacrifice NPC's/quest lines or your gold/xp.
Does it kill NPCs or just makes them sick and decreases that unforeseen aids
No, they do die eventually
why should there be a drawback? you die in 2 hits anyway.
Oh that's messed up
If a game offers you a choice, there should be some kind of weight behind it.
why you care shitter. I can resurrect if I want.
The Dragonrot spreads upon death, not resurrect you retard. Hell I even think you prevent Dragonrot by resurrecting and then not dying.
Go and play a Telltale game faggot.
Why?
It gives you a choice to resurrect and run away though, unless it's a boss fight which is bullshit.
Yeah but why would you ever choose to die instead of resurrect?
I don't care. This was just to start a topic on Dragonrot. Getting people mad enough to come out of the woodwork to defend themselves for resurrecting like it personally matters is just a nice bonus.
because you sucked ass and died in two seconds so you just want to restart fresh instead of wasting your time
It spreads upon resurrecting too, "Retard." :)
this, I only choose to resurrect if the enemy is near death or something
if I died within the first 3/4th of enemy health I just resurrect unless I got the pattern down
Wrong
3 times of fully dying does it. Ive been restarting the game and been through the beginning sections like 6 times trust me on this. Resurrecting doesn't. do it unless you fully die before you get to a shrine.
>die to grandma 60 times
>kill horsey guy
>come back with new toys
>sculptor is dead
COOL GAME
bullshit, he has plotarmor
Kek'd but seriously it only takes 60 deaths? Fuck.
Prove me wrong. The woman in red even states that resurrecting too much spreads it. Or you could just go off the common sense that if it didn't spread it, it would make the concept useless. Do you think FS sat around brainstorming and was like "lets give players a couple free resurrections with no downside whenever they want?" Doesn't seem likely.
Already tested, go to the general.
Telltale games dont have any weight behind its choices either.
no that would be a system that makes sense. No, they went FULL RETARD, Dragon Rot spreads.... if you die or resurrect.
This system is beyond retarded, this is a Souls game with a hidden death limit or you get locked out of content. Instead of trial and error and exploration, this is basically "rev up that wiki"
Fully ressing, as in fully dying, does in fact spread it but for some reason resurrecting on the "battlefield" doesn't. It's a strange mechanic and probably a translation issue.
Resurrecting on the battlefield spreads it to your enemies.
If you die and resurrect at home all your friendly NPCs are the ones caught in the crossfire.
Is that really the reason why? Holy shit that is actually a pretty good lore explanation.
They fucking die. Not gonna lie this is a great way to make people git gud because I do give a shit about my one armed gramps and zombie Bane.
resurrection is literally just an emergency healing gourd. It doesn’t matter if you use it or not, shits not gonna change if you don’t learn how to deal with the boss.
>Is there any drawback to resurrecting at all then?
If you're in a super dangerous area, ergo boss, you could potentially die in a single hit (because you rez with half health) meaning you'll probably end up with two deaths for the price of one.
But generally speaking no, you just rez, then run like a bitch back to an idol and rest.
MIYAZAKI YOU BASTARD
nope, the punishment is for choosing "die" instead of resurrect. They managed to reverse what should be punished
i‘m too scared to fight fat drunkard
any tips?
So, how do i cheese lady butterfly? I cant anymore Yea Forumsros.
>"I think this mechanic could be better implemented"
>"REEEEE SHUT UP THE GAME IS PERFECT STOP SAYING ANYTHING BAD ABOUT SEKIRO RIGHT NOW IMPACTFUL GAMEPLAY DESIGN IS FOR VISULA NOVELS"
Don't worry I'm sure it'll be patched by the end of the week.
Kite the mobs and try to pick them off without taking too much damage. Once they're all dead, talk to the guy by the rock to get his assistance on Drunkard and wail on him (carefully though, it ain't dark souls any more). You can actually get a stealth hit on him if you run away and come back apparently. My brother said he did that.
I think you take a greater punishment in currency and xp.
Shuriken her every time she jumps up onto the webs immediately and she'll fall down and be open for hits. Other than that just try not to die.
Everything you said at first is fine, but you can actually make him go docile again if you run a bit then come back, you can then backstab him taking one health bar off then lead him to the chinamin to help, it was pretty easy
poor chinamin died though
so not even a spoiler, you need to get the Spear Parry as your first skill or you effectively ruined your entire playthrough. Since many early bosses have a dangerous thrust attack
That's fucking wrong. You're told that when you respawn, since you don't have any rez energy to rez yourself, you have to draw lifeforce from others which is what causes the sickness.
The game fucking tells you.
The Dragon Blood's power allows you to resurrect. Respawning is not a proper resurrection and causes harm to others, manifesting as Dragon Rot.
Sprint around her right side and take a swing every time she has attacked.
Works for almost every move except her kunai dash and the 2nd phase move where she dodge a perilous move at the end of a series of attacks.
General rule of thumb, keep a distance.
Just dodge lol
How do I get behind that door on the right side from where the chained ogre is? I have been through most of Ashina castle and it bothers me that I havent found a way around yet.
I just intentionally died and chose not to resurrect a bunch after the tutorial. I got the Dragonrot cutscene. Choosing to die instead of resurrect causes it is 100% certainly a cause
LOOK
AT
THIS
>General rule of thumb, keep a distance.
She goes down super easy if you just stick close and wail on her. You can even interrupt the second hit of your combo and stunlock her for free hits.
When you develop the cure with Emma she explains that the only reason you keep coming back from real death is because you steal life force from others, instead of resurrecting with the dragon's power.
So it's right?
that's actually fucking dope
The biggest letdown for this game so far has been the OST. It's no Tenchu that's for sure. Otherwise it's great.
>beat the obligatory "tutorial boss you are supposed to die to"
>there is no reward, in fact, the cutscene is barely any different to losing
Go towards headless, before you drop towards headless look right and there is a small hallway leading to the jumps up to it.
Here's the stray I used
>Hit her until she strong parry/is about to counterattack (hard to explain, the parry sound is really different and the spark more intense, it's really noticeable)
>dodge left or right behind her
>attack again
>shuriken if she jump
Worked for me.
What are you dying to?
What does the Lone Shadow Longswordsman have to say? I attacked him before I realized you could talk to him, and then I had to kill him.
I also killed the guy up above just to see if I could do it. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me.
I'M GONNA MARRY SNEK
I didn't even know of the cave headless was in, but I found it by looking around the cliffs for any possible paths.
Does this game have a way to fight a boss again after you've killed them? I wanna fight Genichiro some more, cause god damn thats an awesome fight.
>Whirlwind combat arts spam any chance you get
>Just jump away when she throws magic at you, I tried running/dodging but it was too risky, the jump is super generous so you'll easily outpace them
>Shuriken her when she's standing on wires
>Always dodge left when she jumps down to smack you (For some reason dodging right would let her hit me but never if I dodge left)
I didn't find much use in blocking/deflecting except for when she does her teleport side to side attack, she's a boss that seem to require good side stepping.
Whirlwind also takes care of most of her illusions.
OH NO
FISTFUL OF ASH!
parry the combos, stab her and throw shurikens when she gets airborne
What? I thought sculptor can't die?
fake news
english or japanese audio, which is better?
when the first message you see basically says "Japanese is the intended audio" take a wild guess.
default does not mean intended
Anybody?
I keep fucking dying to the Drunkard and I’m spreading Dragonrot like the fucking plague.
I managed to cheese it by doing two wall double jumps from ogre to get to the locked door with the lizards. From there you can backtrack down to headless which requires one tricky jumphook onto a tree stump
i think the english voice actings 'good'
Nip developers about nips in nipland sewn together with nip lore. Take a guess.
Sekiro identifies as an american, sorry
Just cheese him lmao. If you're not starting every mini boss with a deathblow on him you're doing it wrong.
Same
So is it ressurecting or dying
I've read the thread and I still don't have a general consensus
Dying causes dragon rot, resurrecting after dying counts as a death still so applies one instance of dragon rot, if you die again right after that, thats 2 instances, otherwise resurrecting and surviving only applies the first death as dragonrot
If you talk to him once them he says that he wanted to see the broken shinobi known as the Wolf. If you talk to him again he realizes that it's you and attacks you saying that he wants to see if the rumors about you being immortal are true.
This is probably something you already know but if you go along the left you can take out a few dickheads with stealth, which helps. After that I recommend picking off his goons one at a time, with the guy with the bow being your number one priority. I wouldn't even bother recruiting the guy that helps you out until after you tack out the other guys first; having him as a distraction helps a lot.
Oh, alright, thanks. I guess I didn't miss anything after all. He was a fun miniboss, though. Felt like I was playing a Ninja Gaiden or something.
Yeah I just beat the drunkard by doing exactly that. Now I’m fighting Lady Butterfly.
>resurrecting after dying counts
I seriously doubt it.
You only get the cutscene for dragonrot spreading the first time AND the subsequent dragonrot spreading when you fully die and respawn. Theoretically one could resurrect 100 times but not actually fully die and they'd never see dragonrot because it would never have a chance to spread. Because of this it seems very unlikely that resurrecting penalizes you.
I got the dragonrot cutscene when choosing to die, I dont think resurrection has anything to do with it
when you use your last resurrect you statue back to shrine to not lose xp. It's a shit system that's not thought out at all
My condolences.
>Resurrecting on the battlefield spreads it to your enemies.
No. Emma says that resing on the battlefield is the result of you using resources of your own body.
Resurrecting has no negative consequences that I'm aware of. Death is what causes dragonrot.
t. didn't resurrect through most of the beginning of the game because I thought it was bad, still gave the wood carving guy AIDS
>Enemy HP bar top left
this fucks up the souls fanboy
Has anyone tested to find out
>when you first die cutscene plays with gayprince saying take his blood to resurrect
>turns out actually dying what weakens npcs
what were they thinking
run around at full speed until she attacks and then do that whirlwind special to punish
Good. Others can suck my dick.
All deaths permanent or not count.
Do the prayer beads change the animations a little besides giving HP or is it just me?
what about this though
resurrecting doesn't cause dragonrot, you only get dragonrot if you fully die and respawn at a checkpoint. Emma explicitly says this.
I wish. I've always wanted this feature in fromsoft games.
I got excited when I killed a boss and he dropped a battle memory thinking that was what it was, but nah if you want to fight them you gotta play the whole game again
