*takes 5 years to run back to the boss*
Nothing personnel, kid.
*takes 5 years to run back to the boss*
Same artificial "difficulty" was in DaS1 and it's lauded as the best RPG, best action game, best open world game, best lore, best everything. FROM fanboys are absolutely astonishing in their arrogance.
Stop being shit at the game and dying to the bosses.
When you know where the boss door is it's just a straight line
This wouldn't be happening if you just killed the boss.
If it's so straightforward, why add this tedium at all? Sense of pride and accomplishment?
DS bosses were some of the easiest in the series bare like 2 exceptions.
It's rare you have to "run back" even on a first try.
Areas killed me plenty though.
Ive never played a Miyazaki game in my life, would I enjoy them? I really enjoy heavily gameplay based games but these look like they prioritize graphics, stories, and environments over gameplay
Maps were pretty small
Which world are you referring to? 2-2? 5-2? In either case you're a retard for not finding the shortcuts.
Played Demon Souls after the three Nigger Ghouls. It definitely takes way longer to run back even if you know where the boss is. I guess I'm just used to having an ass load of bonfires everywhere.
Probably for the feeling of organism and natural interaction. You fucking faggot zoomers expect everything on a silver platter and to be absolutely convenient, anything less it's "artificial". Which is funny, because that very experience you crave is artificial from its very core. I much prefer that design than whatever trash you think is top tier.
My favorite souls game. I loved farming shit.
this game is better than all the dark souls games!!! Demon's Souls is my favorite game of all time and it came out of nowhere in 2009 when all we got was COD games and the PS3 was being raped hardcore
Mate, I explored overland in Betrayal at Krondor or Xeen at release and it was way more fun that this borefest you call "natural interaction" (how the fuck is it an interaction or "feeling of organism"?!). Were you even born back then?
The story is of little importance in pre-Sekiro Miyazaki games it's mostly about killing shit
Yea Forums is going to tell you it has shit gameplay because it's not Ninja Gaiden or whatever the fuck. For some reason this board gets really defensive whenever the combat is brought into question, especially in recent years.
The truth is the Souls series was popularized for adopting old-school game design philosophies when they were all but absent from the industry. In this sense, they are 100% gameplay oriented. While the combat is not terribly complex, it rewards exploration, awareness, and deliberate decision-making in a way few other series even bother with. The "story" is told through the environments, but the levels themselves are usually very well designed and complementary to the gameplay itself.
If you think you'd enjoy the feeling of walking through a castle, not knowing what is possibly in the other room, but that it could kill you with a single misstep, you will probably very much enjoy these games.
Oh that's why. You think the turn based is where the real quality is at. Well in that case we can agree to disagree and we'll leave it at that. I'll keep my resentment for others who don't have an excuse to understand.
Oh, it's strawman time!
You dodged the question.
You put words in my mouth.
Why are you such a jerk, for 4channel cool points? I do not consider turn based to be inherently better. Gothic 2, for instance, is not turn-based, has overworld exploration superior to anything in DaS series, and has less tedium.
Care to try again without employing logical fallacies?
the only one that sorta sucks is the run to allant but its not that bad if you kill the dragon
>straman time
Not sure where you get that from, turn-based bois tend to follow a different set of "rules" in their mind. I'm not much of a turn-based boi myself but I play a few turn-based games. I'm not attacking your preference there, guy, I'm only acknowledging the fundamental difference. You have to be some real whackjob to think that there isn't some difference. Call names and fallacies all you want kid, doesn't make it wrong.
can i play this with a dualshock 2?
So, you decide to dodge again, and put words in my mouth again? I don't have a preference for turn-based which I explicitly stated, you proceed to ignore that. I used two examples of old games to ahow that my argument is not rooted in "zoomer" culture, the games just happened to be turn-based because at the time almost everything was. I could have mentioned Gothic but you would strawman that just like you do now.
So, this is the level of logic comprehension of a DS fanboy? I'll have to concede, then, and crawl back to vr.
Hoo boy you really are good at getting upset and ignoring all points to be right.
>pick up winged spear early on
>it's the best spear in the game
Nice
there's a shortcut to every boss in the game, except for tower knight, but if you lose to tower knight you deserve the run
I dreamed I was playing an unreleased level of DeS. It was an floating castle over the fields of Boletaria. Similar architecture to Boletarian castle, but more gruesome. A fat general commanded two female black phantoms over a narrow area in which you could fall to your death. It was a magical dream, wish it would come to me again.
Bottom of the barrel retards, do everyone a favor on this board and never voice your dogshit opinions ever again.
I can't stand those red eyes, and the fat royal looking dudes are an almost guaranteed restart of your boss run if you get unlucky or mess up a little.
Doesn't help that Allant is a pretty big jump in difficulty, though maybe I am just doing particularly bad?
